In today's Toddcast, Todd Huff addresses a tragic and emotionally charged story that has ignited political backlash and cultural outrage. Following the murder of filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, Todd examines President Trump's controversial Truth Social response and the broader reaction from both the left and the right. This episode isn't about defending bad comments or excusing cruelty—it's about drawing clear moral lines. Todd contrasts decency versus mockery, justice versus violence, and politics versus the value of human life. He also challenges conservatives to reject the same depravity they condemn and calls for restraint, empathy, and moral clarity. Ultimately, Todd makes the case that America's deepest crisis isn't political—it's spiritual—and that only truth, accountability, and the Gospel can heal a broken culture.
Tune in here to this Monday's edition of the Brett Winterble Show! Brett kicks off the program by talking about a weekend marked by violence and what he sees as a growing failure to confront evil and dangerous behavior in society. He reacts to a series of disturbing incidents, including a hit-and-run fatality, a mass shooting investigation at Brown University, and alleged terror plots uncovered by the FBI. Brett argues that these events reflect a broader breakdown in accountability, particularly in major blue cities and states. He strongly criticizes what he views as leniency toward violent offenders and warns against dismissing repeated warning signs under the guise of tolerance or misunderstood mental illness. Later Brett has great dialogue with a caller discussing the value of thoughtful, fair-minded commentary and the importance of maintaining humanity and decency in political discourse Brett explains that while he supports Trump’s policies, he believes criticizing the dead is inappropriate, emphasizing respect, prayer, and basic human decency once someone has passed. The exchange underscores Brett’s willingness to challenge his own side when necessary and reinforces his view that leadership requires moral restraint, not just political loyalty. Listen here for all of this and more on The Brett Winterble Show! For more from Brett Winterble check out his YouTube channel. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
TALK TO ME, TEXT ITA morning rant turns into a meditation on what we owe each other. We start by speaking plainly about a cruel public comment tied to a killing and why even supporters can demand better. Decency isn't partisan; it's a baseline. A real apology can lower the temperature and keep us human — especially when grief is involved. From there, we lighten the mood with a very online holiday debate: the rise of the “naked” Christmas tree. Are bare branches and clean lines a soothing aesthetic or just a hollow flex? We share why some people crave calm minimalism while others treasure a tree thick with memory — handmade ornaments, chipped baubles, and the stories they carry. Style tips sneak in too: small palettes for serenity, balanced sizes for flow, and intentional placement so even an eclectic tree feels cohesive. Then comes a sharp swing: an 86-year-old gets fined after spitting out a wind-blown leaf. It's a small story with a big point about proportionality, discretion, and why zero-tolerance policies can backfire when they ignore context. Respect for rules grows when enforcement feels fair and human. Finally, we end on the kind of local heroism that restores faith. A Florida chef notices a regular's sudden absence, calls to check in, then drives over when the phone goes silent. He hears a faint cry and opens the door to find the man injured and dehydrated — and likely saves his life. Hospitality at its best is community care, and the practical lesson is clear: pay attention, keep a soft roster of regulars with consent, and don't ignore a missed routine. The thread running through every segment is simple: words shape culture, and attention saves people. If the vibe of the season means anything, it's found in the choices we make when no one's filming and when the timeline moves on. Listen, weigh in on the “minimalist vs memory” tree debate, and tell us which story stuck with you. If you felt seen, share this with a friend, hit follow, and leave a quick review so more curious listeners can find the show.Buzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched!Start for FREE Thanks for listening! Hour 1 of https://RushToReason.com launches with John Rush and Dave from Veteran Windows and Doors (https://www.veteranwindowsdoors.com), revealing a surprising winter shake-up in the home-upgrade world: discontinued product lines, looming January price hikes, and why cold snaps suddenly make homeowners notice every draft. Should you upgrade now before the window—literally—closes? From there, John pivots into a fiery cultural critique. Why are manners vanishing? When did America become a place where pajamas pass for travel wear and courtesy is optional? John from Cheyenne jumps in, sharing stories of airline standards and the lost art of dressing with respect. Then the hour turns sharply toward national intrigue as Leslie Corbly (https://lesliecorbly.com/), attorney and author of Progressive Prejudice: Exposing the Devouring Mother, joins the show. John and Leslie delve into the Epstein files, James Comer's investigations, and the Clinton machine—asking the real question: is justice even possible when power runs this deep? Leslie breaks down political immunity, entrenched influence, and why the truth about Epstein may not surface for decades. Hour 1 blends home insights, cultural reality checks, and high-stakes political analysis. HOUR 2 Hour 2 of Rush to Reason opens with John Rush tackling one of the biggest political landmines of 2025: why is inflation worse in blue states—and is the solution as simple as leaving them? John challenges long-held assumptions about Colorado politics, the MAGA label, and the growing clash between affordability and ideology. Why are so many voters misreading the state's political climate? And is the exodus to red states a temporary trend or a permanent warning sign? In the second segment, John and Jerzee Joe break down the real numbers behind inflation. What happens when energy prices triple from one state to another? Why are Americans slipping into cultural sloppiness—from fashion to personal standards—and is it tied to a deeper Marxist drift? Their conversation asks the bold question: Have we become a nation that expects equal treatment no matter the effort? Richard Rush jumps in with a high-energy breakdown of the Broncos' season. Are Denver fans underestimating how hard it is to win in the NFL, especially when you're living in “Stage 3” of franchise building—winning all the close games while your heart rate spikes every Sunday? Hour 2 closes on a high-octane note as Richard Rush delivers a first-look review of the 2025 Lexus LX 700h Overtrail. Is this hybrid luxury off-roader the new benchmark for capability and refinement? Or does its six-figure price tag raise more questions than answers? HOUR 3 Hour 3 of Rush to Reason hits hard from the opening minute as John Rush welcomes Professor Marc Defant (https://www.marcdefant.com), University of South Florida, whose explosive peer-reviewed paper challenges the foundations of modern feminist studies. Why are entire academic departments ignoring evolutionary biology, known health science, and decades of empirical research? And what happens when “body positivity,” gender ideology, and attacks on masculinity collide with actual data? Defant pulls back the curtain on Marxist influence in universities, the disappearance of alpha males, and how students are being shaped by ideology rather than truth. After the interview, John shifts into real-world examples—from airline travel to cultural expectations—to show how entitlement, victimhood, and the loss of traditional masculinity play out in everyday life. Finally, caller Brad joins the conversation for a rapid-fire political rundown: Tennessee's special election, GOP infighting, MAGA identity, Jerome Powell, Senate math, and whether conservatives can learn how to win again. If you've ever wondered who controls the narrative, what happened to common sense, and whether America can course-correct, Hour 3 is a conversation you can't afford to miss.

In this episode of Wake Up, Look Up, Pastor Zach tackles a question many of us have been silently asking: Where has decency gone? After reading a Washington Post op-ed by former Indiana governor Mitch Daniels, he reflects on the sad reality that civility has become almost nonexistent in public life. Profanity, personal attacks, and humiliation have become political strategy — and most of us are exhausted by it.But instead of simply agreeing that things have gotten ugly, Pastor Zach offers a biblical and practical roadmap for how Christians can lead the way back to decency.Have an article you'd like Pastor Zach to discuss? We often talk about strategy, charisma, and competence when we talk about leadership. But what about character? In this powerful solo episode, Janet Ioli dives into the often-ignored foundation of true leadership—character—and why it's time we bring it back into focus.Through honest reflection and real-world observation, Janet explores how our collective erosion of respect, honesty, and decency has created a crisis of leadership. She challenges us to look inward and asks a question every leader should sit with: Who are we becoming? This conversation is an invitation to pause, recalibrate, and recommit to leading with integrity—not just in titles or organizations, but in how we show up as human beings. In this episode:✅ Why character has quietly disappeared from leadership conversations✅ The difference between charisma and true integrity✅ How modern culture rewards “winning” over doing what's right✅ Why arrogance and disrespect are disguised as righteousness✅ The role of fear, ego, and power in our leadership choices✅ How to recenter character as an expectation in leadership✅ Simple, everyday ways to demonstrate character in action✅ Why leading with decency, humility, and honesty is the ultimate edgeAbout Janet Ioli:Janet Ioli is a globally recognized executive advisor, coach, and leadership expert with over 25 years of experience developing leaders in Fortune 100 companies and global organizations. She created The Inner Edge—a framework, a movement, and a message that flips leadership from mere success performance to presence; from ego to soul. A single phone call about a city burn ban spirals into threats—and becomes our jumping-off point to ask a harder question: why are tiny frictions turning into full-blown fights? We trace the emotional arc from everyday annoyances to public blowups, weaving in a tense on-road encounter, a chaotic midday scene, and the nerves of stepping into a new leadership role. What emerges is a clear pattern: social media's echo chambers, economic pressure, and political theater have rewired how we handle conflict, making patience feel rare and empathy optional. We don't stop at diagnosis. We pull apart the mechanics of online outrage—the highlight reels, the instant pile-ons, the way platforms reward dunking over dialogue—and map them to the awkwardness many of us feel face-to-face after years of isolation. We talk about free speech with grown-up nuance: protect robust expression, draw a hard line at threats, and normalize course corrections without public shaming. If leaders model contempt, everyday interactions copy that tone. So we argue for something braver: choosing grace in small, daily ways that actually lower the temperature. You'll also hear our rapid-fire relationship segment: hidden “emergency” money and trust, the gift-giving loop that misses the mark, and the houseguest situation that needed a hotel. Through it all, we offer practical steps anyone can use right now—kindness as default, non-judgment long enough to hear context, awareness of your own tells, tech boundaries that blunt the outrage cycle, and a bias for experiences over performative posts. None of this fixes the internet or politics—but it restores personal agency and rebuilds local trust, inch by inch.If this resonates, tap follow, share with a friend who needs a calmer feed, and leave a review with one habit that helps you keep your cool. Tune in here to this Monday's edition of the Brett Winterble Show! Brett kicks off the program by talking about decency and the controversy surrounding the memorial for Charlie Kirk. He highlights how some in the media, including Don Lemon, reacted with anger toward those celebrating Kirk’s life. Brett notes that President Trump offered his own eulogy and stresses that people of faith have the right to honor Kirk in their own way without outside interference. Later, Brett shifts his focus from politics to a deeper reflection on Christianity and its meaning in a skeptical age. He acknowledges how secular critics often portray the faith as oppressive, dogmatic, or outdated, yet he challenges that view by reframing Christianity not as control but as love expressed through sacrifice. To illustrate, he recounts the story of Maximilian Kolbe, the Catholic priest who offered his life in Auschwitz to save a stranger. For Brett, this act of defiant love captures the true essence of Christianity—a willingness to give rather than to dominate. He explains that the heart of the faith is not about winning arguments but about serving others, forgiving, and even suffering for another’s dignity. Brett concludes that in a world drowning in cynicism, Christianity’s radical ethic of self-giving love offers hope, meaning, and a vision of life stronger than death. Buzzard View Manor has never closed its gates to the weary, the wandering, or the misunderstood. It has stood as a sanctuary for all—regardless of ideology, belief, or background. Judgment was never its currency. Compassion always was. But Lady Winters watched in horror as the world celebrated the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Her heart, once resilient, cracked beneath the weight of such cruelty. Buzzard View Manor will remain her refuge. Her fortress. Her truth. To those who walk in daylight yet carry the hearts of monsters—you are seen. You have revealed yourselves. And you have no place at the Manor. Decency is not weakness. Compassion is not naïveté.It is the mark of those who still believe in humanity. There's a place down in Texas where you're never lost or forgotten. It's called Buzzard View Manor. RIP Charlie Kirk.
Hello to you listening around the world!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds for Wednesdays on Whidbey with your host Diane Wyzga.About a block from my library or a block from the post office sits a house on a corner. Propped against this house I saw a very large sheet of plywood. Spray-painted in large black letters were these words: Kill Lawyers - Not Cops. Putting aside any 1st Amendment right of free speech arguments or the notion that many folks don't like lawyers until they need one, I have a question: When and how did we arrive at this place? When and how did we depart from human kindness, civility, and manners? I've often spoken to the man who lives in this house as I passed by on my walk, admired his sunflowers, commented on the weather. I plan to walk up to his door and say, “I am a lawyer. Are you going to kill me? Or do you wish someone would?” I want to hear how he arrived at his position. And then perhaps get him to put away his larger-than-life sign before some yahoo takes him up on the dare.Practical Tip: Be of speech a little more careful than anything else today, tomorrow, and forever. You're always welcome: "Come for the stories - Stay for the magic!" Speaking of magic, I hope you'll subscribe, share a 5-star rating and nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, bring your friends and rellies, and join us! Hosted by Dr. Sarah Hensley, Specialized Social Psychologist, Attachment Theory Expert, and Founder & CEO of The Love Doc Relationship Coaching Services with Co-host Raina Butcher, Owner/CEO of Joyful Consulting, LLC. Welcome to "The Love Doc Podcast" Season II, where Host Dr. Sarah Hensley and her co-host Raina Butcher dive deep into the intricacies of love, attraction, attachment, relationships, and self-awareness. Dr. Hensley brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to help listeners navigate the complexities of modern romance. In each episode, Dr. Hensley tackles burning questions about love, relationships, and the mind's complexities, drawing from her psychological research, real-life experiences, and her own individual expertise, to provide insightful perspectives and practical advice.Episode 17: “Restoring Human Decency: Choosing Kindness in a Divided World”In the aftermath of heartbreaking tragedy and the loss of Charlie Kirk, our nation is once again faced with a sobering reality: we are not just battling political division, but something much deeper—an erosion of human decency. In this episode of The Love Doc Podcast, Dr. Sarah Hensley and co-host Raina Joy step away from political rhetoric to reflect on what it truly means to be human, to choose kindness, and to build bridges rather than walls.Together, they explore how acts of violence and hatred are not simply social or cultural issues, but signs of spiritual warfare. Scripture reminds us that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers” (Ephesians 6:12). These moments of darkness reveal the demonic forces at work in our world—seeking to divide, destroy, and corrupt. Yet even in this brokenness, we are called to be light-bearers, choosing love, compassion, and healthy discourse over bitterness and blame.Dr. Sarah and Raina also speak to the growing epidemic of mental illness and intrusive, demonic thoughts that plague so many in today's society. They remind listeners that behind every belief, every action, and every worldview is a story. When we approach others with curiosity and empathy rather than condemnation, we open the door to true understanding and healing. This episode is a heartfelt call to return to human decency—to remember that kindness matters, that every person carries wounds we cannot see, and that disagreement does not have to mean division. By grounding ourselves in faith, leaning into compassion, and recognizing the spiritual battle we are all in, we can begin to heal not only our relationships but also the heart of our nation. If you've been searching for a message of hope, love, and unity in a time of confusion and grief, this conversation will encourage you to anchor yourself in what matters most: faith, empathy, and the unwavering power of human decency.Tune in to "The Love Doc Podcast" every Tuesday morning for candid conversations, expert guidance, and a deeper understanding of life, love and relationships in the modern world. A small Illinois town took on the Proud Boys after a blatant recruitment billboard appeared near a high school. This segment dissects the audacity of extremist groups feeling emboldened enough to openly recruit and the critical importance of local communities pushing back against hate and fascism. It highlights how hate groups exploit societal anxieties and strategically infiltrate local politics, raising questions about corporate responsibility in platforming such dangerous ideologies. This local victory proves that grassroots efforts can, and must, challenge the normalization of bigotry eroding our society.News Source: Community Outcry Forces Proud Boys Billboard Removal in Illinois By Hunter Basler and Holden Ker Wiki for Katie Askey, local news August 19th, 2025

On this candid episode of Sane(ish), Jo sits down with Senator Alex Padilla for a real-time reckoning with democracy's fragile state. Recorded as breaking news unfolded about the death of Charlie Kirk, the conversation does not shy away from the day's pain and makes clear: political violence has no place in America, no matter our differences. Jojo and Senator Padilla dig into the Supreme Court's most recent ruling allowing immigration raids and profiling in Los Angeles, examining its consequences for basic rights, the economy, and the social fabric of entire communities. Senator Padilla offers clarity on immigrant contributions, the trauma playing out in neighborhoods and workplaces, and why the fight for constitutional protections isn't over…even in the face of setback. This episode is a call for decency, honest oversight, and fierce hope in the ongoing battle for justice and democracy, while honoring the belief that disagreement is not an excuse for hate.
After witnessing a series of moments on my recent travels left me gutted.People standing on coral. Ignoring signs that asked not to disturb nesting wildlife.Disrespecting sacred sites with noise, ego, and entitlement. This episode and letter is a call to all of us who travel to remember that we are guests. That we're not entitled to the land, the wildlife, or the culture. That not everything needs to hold personal meaning for it to deserve our care and respect.I speak about the pain of watching people override warnings and traditions. About how easy it is to forget we're not the only important species on this planet. And how sometimes, staying on the path literally and metaphorically is the most respectful thing we can do.This episode is a love letter to the earth, to those who hold sacred traditions, and to the animals just trying to nest, rest, and live. And it ends with the Tiaki Promise a beautiful, grounded commitment to travel with heart, care, and consideration.“To care for land, sea and nature. Treading lightly and leaving no trace. To travel safely, showing care and consideration for all. And to respect culture, travelling with an open heart and mind.”This isn't about shaming. It's about remembering what decency looks like.Intrepid Adventure - Karijini National Park Buy my book, Authentic - coming home to your true self - AUS, EUR, USACoach with me 1:1 - Book a 20-minute call nowThe Good Life - sign up nowFree Wheel of Life Assessment - take the test nowWrite into us - let us know what you want to hearwww.katjohn.com.auSupport the show

June 9, 1954. Senator Joseph McCarthy has accused the United States Army of having communists within its midst. After rising to power during a time of great fear in America, McCarthy's name has become synonymous with anti-communism – and with baseless, life-ruining accusations. But today, five simple words will take down one of the most notorious men in American political history. What made McCarthy so powerful in the first place? And how did that very same thing eventually bring him down? Thank you to our guest, Ellen Schrecker, historian, author and expert on McCarthyism. Thank you to Thomas Doherty, Professor of American Studies at Brandeis University, for speaking with us for this episode. He is the author of Cold War, Cool Medium: Television, McCarthyism, and American Culture. ** This episode originally aired June 8, 2020. For centuries the world's religions have constructed a mental prison in which they try to control the conduct of their adherents through threats of eternal torture or, for the very good, promises of eternal reward. However, once you awaken to the reality that these are empty promises and threats, in a world where there is not heaven or hell, then there are no moral absolutes . . . then we are left to discern for ourselves, "how shall we then live?"
With so much disinformation flying around, Senator Chris Van Hollen sets the record straight and takes down Secretary Rubio at the same time.
A final clip today from my face to face conversation with folks from Lancaster, PA. Today they discuss whether a political party that ran on a “decency” platform could win.
