Welcome to this week's episode of Chris's Corner, where we delve into the intricacies of the bulking-up process— and not just in a physical sense. Join me as we explore the mindset crucial for anyone embarking on this transformative journey, regardless of your current life stage or background. Titled "The Hell Fire Winter Arc of Bulking," this episode delves deep into the mental fortitude required during the cold winter months, focusing less on the sheer quantities of food consumed and more on the mindset you bring to the table. As the saying goes, self-improvement might be akin to self-indulgence, but I firmly believe that life's essence lies in the continual pursuit of bettering oneself. This episode offers valuable insights into The Hell Fire Winter Arc of Bulking, presenting a unique perspective that goes beyond the conventional understanding of bulking. Welcome to this week's episode of Chris's Corner, where I delve into life's challenges spanning fitness, work, family, goals, and dreams. In this episode, I confront the harsh reality of the solitary nature of our struggles. Contrary to expectations, pursuing meaningful goals means walking a path where loved ones may not always accompany us. The essence of the struggle lies in the individual journey, devoid of hand-holding. Each step, no matter how mundane or repetitive, must be taken alone. Yet, as the journey concludes, the yearning to embrace the struggle once more becomes undeniable. Join me in this week's episode as I explore the gratification found in navigating the path of struggle independently. Don't miss out, and I look forward to having you with me next week on another compelling episode of Taylor's Tales.

It's either the most positive place on Earth or the black pits of Mordor; there is no in between. We aren't always going to be on holiday, and we aren't always going to be in the mundane. Yet, it's important to find love for both. In this week's episode of Chris's Corner, I dive deep into the internet sensation known as "Literally me." This meme has recently made a comeback, thanks in part to Ryan Gosling's portrayal of Ken in the Barbie movie. The character of Ken embodies the idea that one can be complete and content on their own, giving rise to the notion that Ken is "Literally me." During this episode, I analyse various films and characters that explore themes of loneliness, numbness, the search for purpose, and the feeling of emptiness in their lives. However, I don't just stop at highlighting these challenges. Instead, I am on a mission to show that "Literally me." doesn't have to be a permanent state, and I provide valuable insights on how you, as a viewer/listener, can break free from that rut and continue moving forward. Join me in this thought-provoking exploration, and together, we'll uncover the positive side of "Literally me." As always, I hope you find this week's episode enjoyable, and I look forward to seeing you right here next week.
Welcome back to Chris's Corner! In this week's episode, we dive deep into the powerful themes of honour and consciousness in the epic movie, 'Kingdom of Heaven.' Join me as we dissect how the portrayal of honour in this film offers a captivating perspective. 'Kingdom of Heaven' is a rare gem in cinematic history, presenting a balanced exploration of two faiths, allowing viewers to see the world from both sides equally. This context sets the stage for our analysis of Balian, portrayed by Orlando Bloom, and his remarkable journey of self-redemption as he transforms into an honourable knight. Balian's transformation mirrors the human experience itself, illustrating how anyone can evolve from humble beginnings to greatness, whether on a spiritual, physical, or metaphorical level. This film serves as a poignant reminder that all journeys ultimately converge at the same crossroads of self-discovery, just as Balian's path does in this narrative. This week on Chris's Corner I speak about the foundation of all stories that have ever been told, the journey of the underdog. We all love a story where the main character starts with absolutely nothing and goes on a journey where they make something of themselves. I give examples of some of the best underdogs in history such as Michael Jordan, Usain Bolt, Rocky and many other characters both non fictional and fictional. There's also why we enjoy these types of dark horses. What do they do to make us as humans appreciate their story and the journey they go on? What can we do in our own live to show the appreciation for such a story. There are always things we can task from underdogs to make our own lives better. One of those things is tackling the weaknesses we allow to fester and must tackle. As always, I hope you enjoy this week's podcast and I'll see you here this time next week!
This week on Chris's Corner I go on a rant about creating a great relationship with food. It seems today's society has robbed us all of the joy that is food. I'm here to tell you that you can take that responsibility back but only if you are willing to open yourself up to the world of balance. What is balance well, from my perspective it is total caloric intake, macronutrients, micronutrients, and hitting your five fruit and veg every day. Yep, it is that simple. I like to think that this podcast really nails the coffin shut on how simple your day to day eating to should be and that by cutting food groups, calories, and certain foods out of diet will not help you lead a happier healthier life. I hope this podcast can help you and also make you realise how much fun cooking can be! As always I hope you enjoy this week's podcast and as always, I'll see you this time next week.
This week on Chris's Corner I speak about the epic adventures found in the 90s and early 2000s Disney films such as Treasure planet, Tarzan, Mulan, Hercules as well as the 2010s film Tron legacy. While today, Disney create films that are re-makes, sequels, and lack imagination, the early 2000s and 90s had some seriously unique and inspiring films. I breakdown the best parts of some of the films and sum up why they have such an impact on Disney's overall success up till this point. After that I delve into the current lack of a work ethic when it comes down to people working out in your local gyms and how a message of just showing up isn't enough. Finally I talk about my current prep for the Manchester Half Marathon which is going to happen at the end of May. As always I hope you enjoy this week's episode and I'll see you this time next week.

This week on Chris's Corner, I delve into the details of my triumphant marathon in Brighton. My ultimate goal was to complete a marathon in under 3 hours and 30 minutes, and I am thrilled to announce that I achieved this feat in just 3 hours and 27 minutes. As someone who struggled with cardio due to asthma in their younger years, this accomplishment is especially meaningful to me. During this podcast, I will provide an overview of my marathon preparation, including my nutrition, hydration, and mental state. Additionally, I will address the psychological challenges you may encounter while taking on a task as daunting as the Brighton marathon, such as the lack of support from those around you. Along with sharing the necessary steps that I took to prepare for this race, I will also offer a personal and motivational speech to inspire you to achieve a meaningful accomplishment, just as I did with my sub-3:30 marathon. As always, I hope that you will enjoy this week's podcast, and I look forward to reconnecting with you next week.
This week on Chris's Corner I'm thrilled to share with you what I learned during my recent travels to Australia. Although the trip was primarily about reconnecting with a dear friend I hadn't seen in five years, it turned out to be so much more than that. So if you're a fan of travel, mindfulness, and personal growth, be sure to tune in! And as always, I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback in the comments below. As always, I hope you enjoy this week's podcast and I'll see you this time next week!
This week on Chris's Corner, I dive into the fascinating world of Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, two of my all-time favourite video games. In this episode, I explore various aspects of these games, from their unforgettable soundtracks to their well-crafted worlds and characters. It's been 60 episodes since I last discussed Kingdom Hearts, and I feel like I didn't do it justice. So this time, I've decided to delve deeper into what makes these games so special. Released on PlayStation 2, Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 have stood the test of time, captivating gamers of all ages with their gripping storyline and engaging gameplay. These games build upon each other, weaving a narrative that draws players in and keeps them coming back for more. And in this podcast, I attempt to capture just a glimpse of the magic that is Kingdom Hearts. But there's so much more to explore, and I encourage you to give these games a try if you haven't already. As always, I hope you enjoyed this episode, and I look forward to seeing you here this time next week!
This week on Chris's Corner I speak on the animation director Makoto Shinkai. After I first watched his 2013 release of Garden of Words I was hooked and wanted more. In this podcast I explain how Makoto Shinkai utilises sound, visuals, connection, and story telling to build films that connect with audiences all over the world. Rather than go into each of Makoto Shinkai's films (5 Centimeters per Second, Garden of Words, Your Name, and Weathering with You) I tackle the common themes throughout each one. On top of that, I try to connect the dots between each of Makoto Shinkai's films and how they evolve to make next film that much better. Finally, I explain Makoto's Shinkai's true unique story telling form that brings elements of reality into his films that make you feel like you could be there too. As always, I hope you enjoy this week's podcast, and I'll see you this time next week!
This week on Chris's Corner I tackle some fun topics such as conquering weaknesses, running the Brighton marathon 2023, the epicness that is Jujutsu Kaisen, and not playing as much video games anymore in your late 20's. Within the topic of weaknesses I discuss the incorporation of swimming into my weekly working out routine and explain why I struggle to do it. I like to think that I bringing a little bit of humble pie to this conversation shows that even when you have achieved a lot in one area doesn't mean you can't start something else from scratch and begin that adventure once more! Similar to how I started running, swimming has been difficult but like I say in the podcast. Anything worth doing isn't easy. The Brighton Marathon will also be an extremely difficult task to accomplish but I believe the last 8 years of running will culminate in my goals that I describe in the podcast. As for the other topics, well, if you've read this far, then I guess you'll have to listen in for the whole podcast, for some Jujutsu Kaisen details. As always, I hope you enjoy this week's episode and I'll see you this time next week!
This week on Chris's Corner I tackle the subjects of who is the best comedians alive today as well as why is society obsessed with zombies. I know, I know, these subjects go as well together as soy sauce and ketchup but I felt that the depth of each wasn't great enough to have their own podcasts. Nonetheless, if you are interested in one but not the other I have timestamped the topics below. Within Comedy today there has never been such a plethora of amazing comedians and comedic material. With such platforms as Youtube, Netflix, and Amazon Prime all containing comedy hours from a range of comedians. Within this podcast I discuss some of my favourites, who I think challenge the notions of today's society. These top comedians are: Bill Burr, Tim Dillon, Bert Kreischer, Tom Segura, and a few others who you'll find out when you listen in! As for the Zombies, I talk about and analyse the quality films coming out of South Korea such as Train to Busan and Kingdom. Both film and TV show really display what can be accomplished outside of Hollywood. But I don't stop there. I also mention comedic films like Shaun of Dead and Zombieland. As always, I hope you enjoy this podcast, and I'll see you, this time, next week! 00:55 Comedians 26:52 Zombies
This week on Chris's Corner I speak on the topic of struggle and hardship using the 1997 anime classic Berserk as my main reference. Life can seem hard and can feel even more isolating when the weather is cold and dark. But within this podcast I converse about how Guts from Berserk utilised the dark times to become a stronger and more connected human. Berserk has many fantastic qualities about it from its 90's art style, to an almost spiritual soundtrack, to characters that make you feel connected to them. However, the real message to be taken from Berserk is its ability to show you that feeling sorry for yourself and blaming others gets you nowhere. Much rather, Guts from Berserk shows you, that to set an example, as he does to the Band of the Hawk through his actions, is what we should all aspire to be like (myself included). I hope you enjoy this week's episode and as always, I'll see you this time next week!
This week on Chris's Corner I go over my favourite Abridged series of all time, Dragon Ball Z abridged! Dragon Ball Z abridged was put together by the amazing Youtube Channel @TeamFourStar . Their undoubted brilliance in building side characters such as Tien, Nail, Krillin, Piccolo, and Vegeta with main character energy and lines, made Dragon Ball Z that much greater! I go through my favourite parts of each season of Dragon Ball Z Abridged, displaying how funny and well written the show was. Dragon Ball z Abridged was an original YouTube sensation that kept YouTube audiences in anticipation of each released episode. I hope to honour the work that Dragon Ball Z Abridged accomplished, with some hilarious one liners from cell, some Krillin getting owned clips, and a little taster of the mighty Nappa. As always, I hope you enjoyed this week's Episode and I'll see you this time next week!
This week on Chris's Corner I speak about the best way to execute a bulk while keeping your abs. This video is mainly made for intermediate lifters/runners/exercise executers but, I still think there is a lot to learn for those who are beginners and advanced. I also have a lot to learn to so this bulking process has been truly enlightening for myself and I hope you can get something from it! From incrementally adding calories to your diet, to continuing cardio, practising hypertrophy and strength, this video has it all when learning about bulking. You don't have to get fat when you go on a bulk and you don't need to go above 15% body fat to improve your lifts either. The bulk can also be a good way for a lot of lifters to go from a lean cut to a good body percentage in order to enable optimum anabolism and increased protein synthesis as well as muscle tension. At the end of the day I am merely speaking about bulking from experience as well as all the research I've done over the years. As always I hope you enjoy this week's podcast and I'll see you this time next week!
This week on Chris's Corner I comment on the grandfather of animation Studio Ghibli! Studio Ghibli is the studio that put together such classics as Nausicaa's Valley of the Wind, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and The Wind Rises. I go through each of Studio Ghibli's films and analyse some of the messages that Hayao Miyazaki help put forward through film. Whether that be the pure soundtracks to the use of nature as a character or a background phenomenon, Studio Ghibli's ability to produce films for all ages with a beautiful underlying message of peace and kindness can not be replicated in todays society. They are the foundation of the animation industry and all future directors and films within this genre will be compared to these masterpieces. If I leave you with anything from this podcast, it is to go and watch or re-watch any of the films created by Studio Ghibli. As always I hope you enjoyed this week's episode and I'll see you this time next week!
This week on Chris's Corner I comment on some of my favourite clips of the great comedian and talk show host Craig Ferguson. Craig Ferguson recorded around 2000 episodes of the Late Late show and showed how to truly make people laugh as well as put on a show that felt real and not forced. It was as if Craig Ferguson was a podcaster before podcasting because of the lack of censorship and the amount of madness that he allowed to run riot throughout the show. His ability to create a joke out of nothing, can really be seen in the clips that I have put together. Along side his sidekicks Secretariat and Geoff the gay robot skeleton, Craig Ferguson made a historic talk show. As always I hope you enjoyed this week's episode and I'll see you this time next week!

This week on Chris's Corner I'm speaking about the best season on Earth, Christmas! Christmas for me is a time that can't be replicated in terms of positive energy in any other time of year. It is the season of giving and bringing together friends and family. Even if you do not celebrate the religious part of Christmas, I don't think that matters. Christmas is more about the kindness and happiness that you bring to other people. There's also the case of all the amazing food, drink, laughs, and terrible Christmas jumpers but, those are nice accessories to the season of Christmas rather than it's foundation. I go into detail over some of the very best parts of Christmas as well as expressing the appreciation I have for being able to be so chipper about this season because of how my family have raised me. I hope you enjoy this Christmas Special and as always, I'll see you this time next week. Merry Christmas ho ho ho!
This week on Chris's Corner I talk about how the legend, David Goggins changed my life. In 2018 I ran but didn't lift weights. That's probably an under statement. I could barely do push ups. But when I saw Goggins's first appearance on JRE I realised that I was focusing too much on my running and not on my weakness which was resistance training. Goggins's raw personality got across to me that I wasn't in good shape and that I needed to get my shit together ASAP! Like Goggins, I talk about the trials I had to go through to be able to be where I am today and, how going through tough times makes you a happier and stronger person. On top of all that, I describe the only thing myself and Goggins disagree on... wearing headphones. Anyway, as always I hope you enjoyed this week's podcast and I'll see you this time next week!
This week on Chris's Corner I discuss the madness of Kanye, the showmanship of Andrew Tate, and the straight up fraud that is the Liver King. All of which is followed up with some more light hearted topics such as the World Cup and the Christmas season beginning. I don't normally break down internet characters such as the three stooges above, however I found their characteristics rather similar and found their actions to be rather interesting. This is probably why all three of them are so popular. But popularity doesn't necessarily hold hands with morality. In this podcast i hope to shine some light on that and that you the listener or the viewer can get a kick out of it. As always I hope you enjoy this week's podcast and I'll see you this time next week!
This week on Chris's Corner I speak about the benefits of living alone. I realise now after recording that I speak about nutrition for around 18 minutes of the this podcast so, if you are not into the benefits of food then please skip to minute 18 onwards. If you are interested, then I cover how having control of your own kitchen can allow you to truly dial in on what foods you can consume to get shredded! As well as nutrition, I talk about the freedom that comes with having access to all of the things that we all take for granted. This is topped off with a tasty snippet into the newest anime out there, Bleach and Chainsaw Man. As always, I hope you enjoy this weeks podcast and I'll see you this time next week.
This week on Chris's Corner I speak about the divergence in how icons are present to people in today's society. In a time where human beings are being divided more and more, we seem to being prioritising the idolisation of both real and fictitious characters who are not heroes. For example, I talk about Patrick Bateman and Tyler Durden as the main features for villains with qualities that people look up to and appreciate more in society. This is not what we should all be looking for in people. Nor should social media be presenting these characters as cool or positive. But you can make a difference if you choose to look for the true heroes. The pointing being is this, in an infinite universe where you are merely a spot in the blanket of darkness, it is your responsibility, nae your obligation to be a true hero even if you are not special. Don't be problem, be the solution. As always, I hope you enjoy this week's podcast and I'll see you, this time, next week.
