Add in some amazing resorts, and this is the stuff of your vacation dreams. Joining me to talk all things Turks & Caicos is the COO of Grace Bay Resorts, Nikheel Advani. We talk about what true luxury means, the culture of the island, our favorite beach bars and how the warmth of the Caribbean feeds your soul. Are you dreaming of a peaceful family vacation but dreading the inevitable teen drama? Have you ever come home from a trip feeling like you need a vacation from your vacation? In this episode of Power Your Parenting: Moms of Teens, Colleen O'Grady sits down with family travel coach Laura Rahn to explore how family vacations can become meaningful, memory-making experiences rather than stress-filled disasters. Together, they unpack why so many well-intentioned trips go off the rails—hint: it often starts before the bags are even packed. Laura shares her “Dream, Design, Depart” process, helping families clarify the purpose of their trip, communicate expectations ahead of time, and include teens in the planning process so everyone feels heard and invested. Laura Rahn is a retired educator and a certified Family Travel Coach. She lives in Virginia with her husband and wonderful dog. As a military BRAT, she has been traveling her whole life. Laura has been involving her two adult daughters in the vacation planning process since they were old enough to have a voice and loves sharing her passion for family travel with others. One key takeaway is that clear communication is everything—bringing your teen to the table early allows for shared expectations and fewer meltdowns. Another is to define the "why" of your vacation before picking the "where"; when everyone understands the purpose, the rest falls into place. Finally, moms are reminded not to lose themselves in the hustle—you matter too, and it's okay to want something out of the vacation that's just for you. After all, a truly great family trip leaves everyone feeling restored and connected. 395 - Join hosts Rob and Kerri Stuart as they dive into the exciting world of Disney vacation planning for 2025 and beyond! In this episode, you'll discover:
Summary So, Jess and Anissa finally reconnect after a week of living their separate lives, and let me tell you, it's like they never skipped a beat. First, they dive into all things Airbnb, sharing their dream stays and, of course, the absolute struggle of wrestling with duvets (like, why is making a bed harder than a workout?). They bond over their love for a stocked fridge on vacation—because who doesn't want to open the fridge and feel like they're starring in their own episode of Cribs? Jess is knee-deep in potty training with her youngest and spilling all the tea on the mess (literally and figuratively). Meanwhile, both of them are over the morning wake-up struggles—kids, alarms, you name it. Anissa recounts her LA adventure, which, plot twist, includes a hotel reservation snafu that's the stuff of rom-coms. They don't stop there—oh no, these two cover everything from smoothie bowls (yum) and the mystery of finding lost items (cue the Twilight Zone theme) to the joys of oven cleaning (aka, the adult version of a horror movie), car washes, and tennis matches. And because it wouldn't be a proper catch-up without a little nostalgia, they share hilarious stories about their moms and their childhoods. The convo is light, full of laughs, and honestly, just the kind of banter you'd expect from these two. Keywords Airbnb, vacation, stocked fridge, amenities, potty training, waking up, hotel reservation, vivid dreams, smoothie bowls, lost items, cleaning, oven, car washes, tennis, moms

You can exercise daily and eat healthily and live a long life, while experiencing a short one. If you spend your life sitting in a cubicle and passing papers, one day is bound to blend un-memorably into the next - and disappear. That's why it's so important to change routines regularly, and take vacations to exotic locales, and have as many new experiences as possible that can serve to anchor our memories. You know what? Enough is enough. We're back from hiatus with a VERY special episode. Not only did we have to watch this one on DVD for some unbeknownst reason, but we also watched it TOGETHER....IN TUCSON! That's right, we visited the scene of the crime, the ol' Bar None Ranch (at the beautiful Tanque Verde Ranch). We got some hard-hitting interviews with horses and all around just had a blast. Then we went to THE Ramada Inn before T's flight the next morning and had the creepiest stay ever. But we did get a chance to record this episode from our hotel room which clearly hasn't been updated since the teens moved out in 1989. THIS TRIP WAS SO AMAZING and we're so excited to share it with you. Welcome back to Yay Dude for season 4!!Follow us on social media!@yaydudecast on Instagramyaydudecast@gmail.com
