Tina raves about the movie and recommends everyone who hasn't seen it set aside two hours to do so. She then wondered (ha) if the hosts themselves have ever judged a book by the cover? Ryan's film is about a mom played by Roberts who can't seem to stop trying to do everything she can for her addict son. Which gets Ryan thinking, how far would they go to stop or help a friend or family member? Also, Tina goes through good news from each month in 2020! All that and a whole lot more on the final 2020 episode of RTC. Happy New Year!

Is the modern man a hunter or a gentleman? A manual labourer or a technophile? In today's culture the modern man usually is a mix of many things. The modern man must be adaptable. Gender roles are changing and blending together and the stay-at-home dad or part time dad population is growing. More fathers than ever are participating in their children's nurturing and upbringing. The thing is that fathers and mothers come into the parenting process differently though. For the mother, the connection is biological. It's a part of her. Fathering, on the other hand, is less so. Therefore, it's important for men to learn the skills they need to be a good dad. For some guys it's more intuitive, like kicking a football, but most guys need a coach or some direction. DADDY EATS LAST discusses what it means to be a man and a father in modern society and all the issues that comes with both.

Ryan Banta discusses coaching with us in this weeks edition of The Podcast. After Ryan gives us a brief overview of his voyage to this point Ryan shares with us how he got to the point of putting together the 5 year project of his book, Sprinter’s Compenduim. Having put together a few books where people contribute to the project has made me second guess quite a bit of what I do, and Ryan shares with us what putting this project together has taught him and changed him as a practitioner. This leads us into a discussion of training, how he looks at the athlete to make decisions as to how to “train” them in a volume sense, along with the roll he sees the weight room playing. Next Ryan shares with us how he separates and evaluates his athletes into groups to progress them in all their training. We finish off talking about the book, who the authors are, and some of the connections he has to them and their impact on the project. We often talk on this show about escape, and it's usually with the assumption that having an escape is a good thing. But there can be consequences to leaving the world you've always known behind -- even when that world is actively causing you harm. My guest this week is Ryan Kendall, whose parents subjected him to devastating homophobia, and dangerous "ex-gay" abuse. After Ryan legally emancipated himself from his parents, what followed was a period of homelessness and addiction that took years for him to overcome. I first met Ryan after he testified in the trial to overturn Proposition 8. As a witness, Ryan was called to provide evidence that sexual orientation isn't something you can deliberately change. And as you'll hear, he was able to provide particularly vivid testimony to that effect. We recorded this week's episode during a thunderstorm in Colorado, so you'll hear some noise of rain in the background and a few rolls of thunder that were oddly perfect additions to Ryan's story. And I hope you'll join me for two exciting livestreams coming up. One is a Sewers of Paris livestream on March 25, and the other is a Dungeons and Dragons livestream on March 31.That Sewers Of Paris livestream is happening this Sunday, March 25th, at 2pm pacific. It has been such a delight to chat with Sewers of Paris listeners about your favorite media and what you're watching and reading and listening to right now. I hope you'll join us this Sunday, the 25th — you can find a link to the livestream in the show notes ( https://youtu.be/Xp5u9rMSvW4 ) and on the @Sewersofparis twitter feed. The Dungeons & Dragons livestream is the following Saturday, March 31. I'll be joined by comedian Bryan Safi, writer Anthony Oliveira, critic Carlos Maza, and LGBT film scholar Bryan Wuest -- we'll be playing an all new D&D adventure at 1pm pacific — head over to twitch.tv/prettyprettypixel to join us for that at 1pm on March 31st.And we're in the home stretch on the crowdfunding for our brand new upcoming podcast, Queens of Adventure, starring four drag queens playing an ongoing game of Dungeons and Dragons. Thanks to backers we've fully funded the first season of the show, and now we're reaching for stretch goals, including livestream with the queens. Crystal is on the show today and we have a competition. We want to find out who knows more about sports Dan or Crystal. Ryan created a quiz with Baseball, Football, Hockey and Basketball questions and we find out who knows more about sports. Dan gets the first question and it is "how many points is a touchdown worth". Dan changes his answer multiple times but eventually gets the right answer of 6. Dan knowing very little about sports pulls ahead by a few points going into the second round. The second round involves guessing sports team names. Crystal is able to tie the game up and the score goes back and forth. The final question is worth 2 points and Dan is down by one point. For the win the question is in hockey where are the coyotes from. Dan's answers " Florida" which is incorrect. Crystal answers "Arizona" and wind the game. Dan is beaten by a girl in a sports quiz. Ryan smokes some weed and Crystal leaves. Then Dan and Ryan discussed what is happening on patreon. Donations have been deleted and then reappearing and they are confused. After Ryan talks about the comment from a fan noobking. The comment is about how he hooked up with is cousin and they were dry humping and he came in his pants. Lastly Ryan is upset about people deleting comments that are interesting. One comment was a questions that takes up the rest of the show. "If you were sleeping and you woke up and a guy was sucking your dick but it's the best blow job of your life". Dan's would be upset and get mad. Ryan on the other hand would pretend it's a girl and pretend to stay asleep. Crystal comes back on and calls bull shit on Dan. The rest of the show is spent convincing Dan he would enjoy a blow job from a guy through a glory hole. "I used to go climbing in the same way people would go to a well, a source of life equally routine and sacred. It would fill me up--leave me refreshed and full after a hard day in the mountains," writes Keith Erps. "After Ryan's death, climbing appeared dark and ugly. I wanted to love it, but had to find a new answer to the 'why' questions." For many of us, the relationship we have with the outdoors stretches back longer than most of our friendships. But what do we do when what should have been a type one fun day in the mountains turns into the worst day of our lives? How do we redefine our relationships with the activities we love? Ryan's family started a scholarship in his name to help underserved youth get outside. You can donate here. You can find more of Keith's writing here.

Hot Wampa - http://hotwampa.libsyn.com/a-rogue-one-special The Star Wars Talk Show - https://starwarstalk.podbean.com/e/morality-retold-through-rogue-one-a-star-wars-story/ The Expanded Fandomverse - https://theexpandedfandomverse.blogspot.com/2016/12/bonus-show-rogue-one-review-show.html But, back to the fun that is Less Than 12 Parsecs. This episode is my monthly classic Kenner Star Wars action figure unboxing. This months figure comes from listener Ryan Dassing. Ryan was kind enough to send me a figure for free!
