Where he has held the titles of coach, official, USA Weightlifting and International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) board member, national and international meet director. Gattone started his career as a graduate assistant for strength at the University of Kansas. After KU Coach Gattone was offered a position at Great Plains Sports Science Training Center, a nonprofit gym working with at-risk youth teaching Olympic Sports. While there he hosted the 1991 Junior National Championships, the 1992 Olympic Trials, and the 1993 Senior National Championships. Because of his demonstrated experience directing meets, he was brought in as the competition director for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. After the Games, Gattone started working for the Chicago Bulls as an assistant strength and conditioning coach under Al Vermeil. In late 2001, he accepted a position with the U.S. Olympic Committee in Colorado Springs as Manager of Coaching Programs. After two years, he went back to Chicago and opened his own gym for sports performance, including weightlifting. Gattone added on a role as High Performance and Coaching Education Director for USA Weightlifting . In his tenure he ran the 2007 U.S. Nationals and the 2009 Pan-American Championships in Chicago. Tyson is a physiotherapist working with Olympic, NHL, and other professional and amateur athletes and the general public.Tyson played junior hockey for the Calgary Canucks for three years and also attended the University of Calgary as a Kinesiology student.  After he finished his junior hockey career, Tyson transferred to Queen's University to play hockey. While playing hockey at Queen's University, Tyson was an Academic All-Canadian and captain in his fourth year. After graduating from Queen's University, he moved on to complete his Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta. In 2010, Tyson became a physiotherapist consultant to the Canadian Sport Institute Calgary. Tyson has worked as the Medical Lead for both the Canadian Bobsleigh and Skeleton teams and has attended numerous World Cup and World Championships as a physiotherapist.  He has also been part of the Canadian medical team at the 2014, 2018, and 2022 Olympic Winter Games.In 2021, Tyson was awarded the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Centenary Medal of Distinction to mark the association's 100th anniversary, to recognize 100+ individuals who impacted physiotherapy from 1920 to 2020.In his spare time, he enjoys weight training, running, playing hockey, coaching his kids' basketball and hockey teams, and spending time with his family. This EP is a great conversation with two good friends of mine and national treasures of Canadian Sport.  Dom Gauthier competed as a Mogul Skier in the late 90s and was an Olympian in Nagano Japan in 1998.  He went on to become the coach of the Japanese National Team and then became the private coach of Jenn Heil and Alexandre Bilodeau where he was integral in their mutual success in Torino and Vancouver.  He became a founding member of the B2Ten foundation, supporting many Canadian Olympians and the success of Canadian Olympic sports for almost 20 years.  Jenn Heil is one of the winningest Mogul Skiers, both male and female, of all time. She has won multiple World Championships and many World Cup gold medal podiums throughout her career. She won Olympic Gold in 2006 at Torino, and Silver at the Vancouver Games. She's gone on to finish a bachelor's degree at McGill University and an MBA at Stanford University and is now building a business focused on women's health care.Together they are a power couple in Canadian sport, they have two growing boys, and they are dedicated to the improvement of sport and health in Canada. Josh Bullock. Josh has spent over 20 years working at the intersection of human performance, sports science, and education. His career has taken him through four NCAA institutions, a private academy, and U.S. Ski & Snowboard, where he had the privilege of preparing the U.S. Freestyle Mogul Team for the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics. As a director and coach, he developed and led high-performance programs impacting thousands of athletes, coaches, and teams, focusing on athlete development, rehabilitation, and performance strategy.Currently, he works as an exercise physiologist and scientist at Intermountain Health – The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital (TOSH).  His role allows him to apply data-driven analysis to improve rehabilitation and performance outcomes, bridging the gap between research, clinical application, and sport.  He also serves as a faculty member at both Salt Lake Community College and Kentucky Wesleyan College. But beyond his work, his greatest joy comes from his family. In 2006 he moved to the English Premiership with Worchester followed by nine years with Gloucester Rugby in the Premiership as head of medical.In 2016 he took on his present role as the lead of medical for the English National team.  Throughout his life in Rugby, he has been a husband to Ailie, and a dad to Maya and Rohan. In this episode of the Braun Performance & Rehab Podcast, Dan is joined by Patrick "Pat" Lewis to discuss his framework for applying eccentrics and isometrics in sports performance programming, in particular in relation to basketball.Patrick Lewis joined the Charlotte staff as the Director of Men's Basketball Sports Performance in August 2023 and the 2024-25 season will be Lewis' second as a 49er. Lewis arrived in the Queen City after serving as the Director of Basketball Performance at Jacksonville University since May 2021. Lewis' coaching career began in May 2018 as an Intern Strength and Conditioning Coach for the University of Florida, where he worked alongside the basketball, golf, and tennis programs. In November 2019, Lewis was promoted and given the dual titles of Men's Golf Strength Coach and Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach of Men's Basketball for the Gators. Lewis held those two titles until joining Jacksonville. Lewis earned both his Bachelor's of Science and Master's of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology from Florida. His bachelor's had a concentration in exercise physiology and his master's was concentrated in human performance. Lewis was a member of the 2017 National Champion Florida Baseball program. Lewis is a member of the National Strength & Conditioning Association and he is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and Licensed Massage Therapist. This EP features legendary Athletic Trainer Kenny Lowe.  Kenny is semi-retired now, but the former Head Therapist with the Edmonton Oilers of the NHL from 1989-2010 and the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL from 1982-1989.Kenny started his career as the Head Therapist at Concordia University before taking a job with the Eskimos (now Elks) and was a member of multiple Grey Cup-winning teams through the early 80s.  He is the older brother of former Oiler Kevin Lowe and experienced winning the Stanley Cup with his brother in his rookie season with the Oilers in 1990.  From 2010 to 2018 Kenny acted as the Senior Coordinator of Medical Services for the Oilers.  He's been the lead therapist with several Canadian National teams including several world championships and Olympic medals in Salt Lake City and Turino Italy.He is married and father of 2 girls Amanda & Melissa. Now in semi-retirement, he can be involved with his 5-year-old grandson (Jack) and 2-year-old granddaughter (Lena).
