Hey friend — this episode's sidebar is a cozy, hilarious chat about Tori Amos's brand-new album In Times of Dragons, a little tour gossip, and some very serious bagel bite nostalgia. We gush over favorite songs (the title track Shush, Strawberry Moon, and the joyous Pyrite), unpack the album's political edge and clever dragon metaphor for concentrated wealth, and celebrate Tori's poetic lyricism that reads like standalone poetry while also hitting hard as songs. You'll also get playful banter about live shows, family collaborations (her daughter and husband join in the music), and the delightful idea of listening to albums like it's 1999 — CD booklet, full attention, zero interruptions. Plus, expect our trademark soup talk and general slurpy vibes. Big thanks to Jamie for the question — hit us up with your favorite tracks and stay tuned for a possible concert follow-up!

The Strawberry Moon (June 10-11) carries spiritual significance for witches and warlocks. The Lord is against all new moon celebrations; which are linked to witchcraft and idol worship. A prophetic dream revealed an enemy attack symbolized by eaten strawberries. God's message: "Our 'vineyard' is targeted without repentance!" This isn't about rejecting the beauty of God's creation, but about discerning the spiritual forces at play during this potent lunar cycle that is celebrated and idolatrous. A call for repentance, exposure, and prayer for the body of Christ! **Podcast Chapters:** **00:00:00 - Warning: The Strawberry Moon & New Moon Celebrations** *Prophetic warning against celebrating the June Strawberry Moon and other new moon festivals.* **00:02:00 - Dream Warning & God's Message** *Details a prophetic dream about an enemy attack symbolized by strawberries and the targeting of our "vineyard."* **00:04:00 - Biblical Context & Dream Interpretation** *Explains the spiritual significance of the Strawberry Moon, referencing relevant scriptures and cautioning against internet dream interpretations.* **00:06:00 - Spiritual Significance of the Moon** *Discusses the historical and spiritual significance of the new moon; celebrations to pagan practices and idolatry.* **00:08:00 - Idolatry, the Queen of Heaven, & God's Judgment** *Explores the dangers of moon worship, connecting it to the worship of the Queen of Heaven and referencing relevant biblical passages.* **00:10:00 - Protecting Yourself & Repentance** *Offers advice on protecting oneself from negative spiritual influences and calls for repentance for those involved in new moon celebrations.* **00:12:00 - Lilith, Generational Curses, & Future Podcasts** *Introduces the topic of Lilith and generational curses.* **00:14:00 - Separation from the World & Imminent Judgment** *Emphasizes the importance of separating oneself from worldly influences and warns of God's imminent judgment.* **00:16:00 - Healing, Deliverance, & Resources** *Recommends resources for healing, deliverance, and further understanding, including FEAR NOT book and Heal my Soul Wounds Trauma Program.* **00:18:00 - Prayer for Protection** *Concludes with a call to repentance and prayer for protection against impending negative influences of new moon festivals and events affecting various aspects of life.* Blessings xo- PARTNER w/ Vertical Relationship Ministries ->https://meliadiana.com/vertical-relationship-ministries Melia's Services -> https://meliadiana.com/our-services Melia's Books ->https://meliadiana.com/books Melia's Prophetic Mentorship-> https://meliadiana.com/vertical-ambassador-mentorship Melia's Courses -> https://meliadiana.com/vertical-relationship-academy

Producer/Host: R.W. Estela Hi, I'm RW Estela: Since 1991, I've been presenting A Word in Edgewise, WERU's longest-running short feature, a veritable almanac of worldly and heavenly happenings, a confluence of 21st-century life in its myriad manifestations, international and domestic, cosmopolitan and rural, often revealing, as the French say, the more things change, the more they stay the same — though not always! Sometimes in addressing issues affecting our day-to-day lives, in this age of vagary and ambiguity, when chronological time is punctuated elliptically, things can quickly turn edgy and controversial, as we search for understanding amid our dialectic. Tune in Monday mornings at 7:30 a.m. for an exciting journey through space and time with a few notable birthdays thrown in for good measure during A Word in Edgewise . . . About the host: RW Estela was raised as a first-generation American in Colorado by a German mother and a Corsican-Basque father who would become a three-war veteran for the US Army, so RW was naturally a military brat and later engaged in various Vietnam-era civil-service adventures before paying his way through college by skiing for the University of Colorado, playing Boulder coffeehouses, and teaching. He has climbed all of Colorado's Fourteeners; found work as an FAA-certificated commercial pilot, a California-licensed building contractor, a publishing editor, a practitioner of Aikido, and a college professor of English; among his many interdisciplinary pursuits are the design and building of Terrell Residence Library (recently renamed the Terrell House Permaculture Living & Learning Center at the University of Maine), writing Building It In Two Languages (a bilingual dictionary of construction terminology), aerial photo documentation of two dam removals (Great Works and Veazie) on the Penobscot River, and once a week since 1991 drafting an installment of A Word In Edgewise, his essay series addressing issues affecting our day-to-day lives — and WERU's oldest continuous short feature. When pandemics do not interfere, he does the Triple Crown of Maine open-water ocean swims (Peaks to Portland, Islesboro Crossing, and Nubble Light Challenge) and the Whitewater Downriver Point Series of the Maine Canoe and Kayak Racing Organization. RW is the father of two and the grandfather of three and lives with his partner Kathleen of 37 years and their two Maine Coons in Orono. Our stories today are about some of the delights of late spring and early summer. I should say, if you are new here, that all of our stories take place in the same universe, and sometimes you'll recognize a narrator from a previous tale or see some overlap of storylines. We'll see that today. We'll start with The Lilac Thief as she pulls off a heist on a dusty country road. Then we'll step out onto the porch and enjoy the gloaming in Strawberry Moon. Finally, we'll revisit the reformed thief as she shares her favorite flowers from the Lilac Grower. A Way with Words — language, linguistics, and callers from all over
We asked for your thoughts about whether cursive writing should be taught in schools -- and you replied with a resounding "Yes!" Here's why: Cursive helps develop fine motor skills, improves mental focus, and lets you read old handwritten letters and other documents. Plus: finding your way to a more nuanced understanding of language; the more you know about linguistic diversity, the more you embrace those differences rather than criticize them. Finally, a brain game using translations of Native American words for lunar months. During which month would you see a Strawberry Moon? Plus newstalgia, fauxstalgia, lethologica, by and large, pank, yay vs. yea, collywobbles, and carlymarbles. Our story tonight is called Strawberry Moon and it's a story about dusk on the porch on one of the first warm evenings of summer. It's also about the lit window of a neighbor's house, the quiet tick of clock in the hall and a good book before bed. This week we are giving to International Rescue Committee whose purpose is to help people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster, including the climate crisis, to survive, recover and gain control over their future. https://www.rescue.org/Purchase Our Book: https://bit.ly/Nothing-Much-HappensSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
