A slice by any other name would still taste as sweet — or would it? Today, co-host Vogue Robinson sits down with Al Mancini and Gemini Stevens, hosts of the podcast Food and Loathing, for a pizza tour of Las Vegas. No two slices are created equal, and as it turns out, the qualities of an excellent, greasy New York slice are very different from those of a cheesy, crunchy Detroit square, or a puffy Neapolitan. Al and Gemini tell you where to find the best in each category in Las Vegas, and attempt to answer the biggest pizza question of all: With all these international styles available in Las Vegas, does our city have its own pizza style, too? Be sure to check out Al's app Neon Feast, a curated guide to the best places to eat in Las Vegas. Well, it's not Puck, himself cooking at 1228 Main St., his new place in the Arts District. But Al is definitely on a big-time rant. Not about the restaurant, but about all the privileged food snobs trashing the Wolfgang-adjacent place just hours after its very soft opening. Al and Gemini go back and forth on that. And back. And forth. And back again. And maybe one more forth. Also: Diana Brier gets emotional about her impending exit from Valley Cheese and Wine, and Joshua Fyksen recounts his quest for the record: eating at the most Michelin-starred restaurants in 24 hours. Al Mancini is back and ready to dish on his dining and drinking in San Jose Del Cabo. Samantha Gemini Stevens shares tales of the pop-up burger event at Featherblade and the 13-hour brisket from her back yard. But the centerpiece of the episode is thanks to our recording venue host: Eric Prato of Garagiste Wine Room and Merchant in the Arts District. The wine bar/wine store just celebrated its third anniversary. Eric shares stories of transitioning from front of the house guy to Certified Sommelier, and moving from Buchon Bistro to his own place. In a world beset on all sides with tribalism and “othering” more people than not desperately seek fitting in. The idea of standing out, being conspicuously unique, it's harder and harder to come by. Al Mancini has never been someone who just goes along, who just fits in. In fact, he's spent his whole life doing exactly the opposite. Most of the time when someone is the sort who proactively drives towards standing out from the crowd, you don't think of them as the same people who bring others together. This is one of the many things that makes Al Mancini's uniqueness something that is so universal. From his time at ABC Radio through his career at The Las Vegas Review-Journal and now into his new endeavors, Al has spent his life using his uniqueness to find ways to bring people together. He is unabashedly himself, never fails to say precisely what's on his mind and has a distinct sense of responsibility about how is moves through the world – a lesson he learned from a dog. What motivates people? Why do they do what they do? What does leadership actually mean in today's world? Good questions, right? That's what Cathy Brooks, thought. And it's why she created Talk, Unleashed – a new podcast of entirely candid conversations with fascinating people doing remarkable things. This weekly podcast will feature guests from arts and entertainment to business to technology to food to activism to politics (well, we'll see on that last one). Talk Unleashed invites these influencers to consider the things that have led to them to where they are, the lessons they've learned and how all those things can come together to create a better world. #UnleashedLeadership #TalkUnleashed #Al Mancini #ABC_Radio #Las_Vegas_Review_Journal #TheHydrantClub #DogTraining #CommunicationsCoaching #LeadershipCoaching #Las_Vegas
