An episode on why Jeffrey Sachs has been making the news recently. The head of the recently completed report "The Lancet Commission on lessons for the future from the COVID-19 pandemic" has raised eyebrows in the last couple of months by simply voicing his findings, calling out wilful obfuscations by the NIH and others, and reaching conclusions about events in Europe, such as the sabotaging of the Nordstream pipelines, that should be obvious but as disappointingly lacking in mainstream media outlets. You can hear him talk at length on Steve Hsu's Manifold podcast. Music: "Stop Believing" by Hi Tiger, from the album Bad Panda #29, used thanks to a CC license. Born and raised amidst the outback of the Italian Alps there was little structure to the musical education of Indian Wells. Much of his own taste emerged through personal exploration and through the inspiration of the scenic yet sometimes unforgiving environment which encompassed his world around him. However, whilst some might abide to live a life amidst the remote and lonely mountains Pietro used such circumstances to his advantage, using them as an enchanting backdrop to his own musical prosperity. Years later he has now established himself as a forward thinking musician with a back catalogue behind him of which many will be envious. He has released music most prominently on the Italian record label Bad Panda but has also appeared on the likes of Friends Of Friends. We invited him to contribute to our Monday mix series and he did so in fine style selecting music by the likes of Visible Cloaks, Yves Tumor, Bibio, Malibu and more.

Pre-Irresistible Fiction: Occam’s Razor Still trying to understand what’s happening with the former Occupy the Media Podcast. I’m not willing to believe we are witnessing actual interdimensional communication. So, I’m considering other reasons involving collusion, trickery, and mind-f*ckery. Occam’s Razor seems to be the best pathway to a solution. “The most useful statement of the principle for scientists is "when you have two competing theories that make exactly the same predictions, the simpler one is the better." http://math.ucr.edu/home/baez/physics/General/occam.html Occam’s Razor on wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam%27s_razor My two choices are: somehow, another version of me, in a different dimension, has perfected interdimensional communication; or, somebody is messing with me big time in this dimension. Until I get proof of the potential for interdimensional communication, I’m inclined to accept trickery from within our local dimension. Drop me a line at irresistiblefiction@gmail.com I will have a website up soon. Probably irresistiblefiction.com, or irresistiblefiction.net.
