POPULARITY
More people watch YouTube on their televisions than any other streaming service, including Netflix, Disney+, or Amazon's Prime Video. However, despite a wide embrace from the public, as well as high-profile original programming from hosts and creators like Sean Evans, Amelia Dimoldenberg, and the Good Mythical Morning duo of Rhett and Link, the Television Academy has largely overlooked YouTube shows in its Emmy consideration. Challenge Accepted host Michelle Khare hopes that it will change sooner rather than later. Khare's nonfiction series is being submitted this year in the Best Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special category, alongside past winners such as David Letterman (My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman) and Stanley Tucci (Tucci in Italy). Listen to Michelle discuss her work with Awards Magnet host Christopher Rosen. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Ooit beloofden we plechtig om géén date-advies te geven, maar hier zijn we dan toch. Wat zijn de (ongeschreven) regels als het om daten gaat? Waarmee steel je de show en wat zijn de absolute no-go's? Is ghosten echt zo erg?
In episode 102 astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield explore a new listener submission and take on the flirting-but-not-yet-a-couple, Spiderman actor Andrew Garfield and Chicken Shop Date creator/host Amelia Dimoldenberg. These two are not dating, but fans couldn't help but notice their apparent chemistry over the course of several interviews and red carpet exchanges between the two. We take a closer look to see if this is just a flirtatious fling or something that could be the real deal. First, we look at Andrew's chart and find a compassionate, imaginative, and sensitive Pisces Rising. Adding in an expressive and creative Leo Sun (which makes a trine to his chart ruler Neptune), this man was born to work in the entertainment industry. His Sun/Venus conjunction gives him an attractive appeal, while his Aquarius Moon makes him friendship-oriented. Next, we go over Amelia's chart and see a distinct stellium in out-of-the-box Aquarius. This explains her unique style of interviewing celebrities which has catapulted her to fame and popularity. In particular her Sun/Venus conjunction adds a pleasing charm to her quirky approach. We also find a snippy and even harsh side to her personality thanks to a Mercury/Pluto square. Their synastry reveals matching Aquarian Sun and Moon signs - telling us there is a fundamental compatibility and unspoken bond. They also share multiple, positive Mercury aspects, so we can say for certain that their mental exchange is deeply aligned and comfortable. However, with no Venus or Mars contacts and a sharp Mars opposition, the attraction might only be surface level. Listen in to hear what Venus score this potential couple got! We're looking into his departure from the Spider-Man franchise, some method acting misunderstandings, and that moment when he left us feeling a bit strange in our spidey senses. We need to know if we're being tricked by a beautiful man. Romance is back! In this episode, Shelby and Laura review Netflix's hit RomCom show, Nobody Wants This, and A24's buzzy RomDram film, We Live In Time. We analyze all of the insane chemistry onscreen with Adam Brody and Kristen Bell, and offscreen with Andrew Garfield's Chicken Shop Date with Amelia Dimoldenberg. We discuss how both Erin Foster's show and John Crowley's film hit the cultural zeitgeist, analyze the hilarious meet cutes of Joann and Noah and Almut and Tobias, spill the social media discourse on the polarizing Jewish stereotypes in Nobody Wants This, dissect the confusing timelines in We Live In Time, celebrate the mature depictions of love and womanhood, highlight our favorite moments like Morgan and Sasha being "loser siblings" and Tobias teaching Ella how to crack eggs, explain why Florence Pugh looks too young to play a mother, and debate whether or not choosing love despite your family is a green flag. Drake has had ANOTHER fall out - and this time it's with the podcaster who interviewed him in bed - Bobbi Althoff. We're talking through the feud, discussing whether Bobbi is an industry plant and deciding whether she's ripped off Amelia Dimoldenberg. No interview this week angels, instead, we're covering the hottest celeb talking points from the past few days. First, we get into the topic that's currently ruling the internet, actor Jonah Hill's toxic 'boundaries', which came to light when his ex Sarah Brady shared their private messages on her Instagram. We debate the dangers of therapy speak and at which point it becomes a tool for manipulation and narcissism, the difference between boundaries and controlling behaviour, plus why fame enables emotional abuse. Next, a rich-person drama to rival Succession: the epic fallout between Kim and Kourtney Kardashian over Dolce and Gabanna. Did Kourtney steal Kim's "wedding country" and "wedding singer" Andrea Boccelli? Is Kim a money-grabbing manipulator who puts fame before family? And finally, *whisper it*, has Louis Theroux lost his touch? We debrief on Louis' new Spotify podcast, in particular the episode with former Straight Up guest Amelia Dimoldenberg, where his interview style seemed to not only irk her, but in all honesty, us as well. Please leave us a review on Apple or Spotify, and find us on Insta @straightuppod Articles, TV shows, podcasts, films etc. discussed: normalondon.com restaurant on Charlotte Street Why are millennials talking in therapy speak? This week: ⚡ Speak Now (Taylor's Version) features a rewrite of “Better than Revenge.” While the song is laced with 2010s teen girl misogyny, we discuss why Taylor's decision to rewrite “she's better known for the things that she does on the mattress” wasn't necessary in the context of modern feminism. ⚡ ️Keke Palmer faces blatant misogyny from her boyfriend claiming that she dressed too risque in public. In stark contrast, Jackson Wang says that while he wants to have kids, it's ultimately his wife's decision, and that finding a soulmate is more important than his desire to have kids. ⚡ ️ Recently music critics Tom Breihan and Laura Snapes have revisited past pop releases, providing a new perspective on their original music criticism of Katy Perry's 2010 “Teenage Dream” and Charli XCX's 2016 Vroom Vroom EP. We look at how and why publication bias and personal bias play a role in music criticism. Fangirl Nonsense: Mikey Way joins Fall Out Boy on stage on the weekend of July 4th, calling back to years of Mikey x Pete lore in the mid 00s. Jungkook dropped concept photos for his upcoming single. Tomorrow x Together and Jonas Brother release their collab song and music video (Jomorrow x Brogether, if you will.) For this preview of Intelligence Squared's new podcast, VS, two critically lauded TV shows are under the microscope. Succession and The White Lotus have both depicted privilege and the lifestyles of the ultra rich through cuttingly satirical comedy-drama over the past couple of years. But which binge fest do we love to hate the most? Ania Magliano is a comedian whose recent show, Absolutely No Worries If Not, was a sell-out hit at the Edinburgh Fringe. She's also one of the writers behind Amelia Dimoldenberg's much-loved Chicken Shop Date and is the co-host of If It Is to Be Said – a podcast all about Succession. Poppy Damon is a journalist, crime podcaster and screenwriter, whose creations include Pseudocide – a podcast about people who fake their own deaths – and the upcoming Agatha Christie and the Dandelion Poisoner. Both are storytellers who value wit, timing and maybe the odd plot twist too but for Ania, Succession is the ultimate satire. For Poppy, it's The White Lotus that takes the top spot. Coco Khan is our host in charge of the remote and there can only be one winner. On today's show: Is Jennifer Lawrence's new movie as problematic as some people are saying it is? Molly-Mae steps down from a role that many found controversial to begin with, how the Glastonbury crowd had Lewis Capaldi's back and Alix Earle's soft-launching her new boyfriend has kicked off quite the TikTok controversy.
