Mike Hoss interviewed Saints GM Mickey Loomis on the weekly "Saints Hour." He evaluated quarterback Spencer Rattler and head coach Kellen Moore, praised the Saints' young defense and offensive tackles, and reviewed the team's quarterback situation. In March 2024, WWL Radio football analyst Mike Detillier said the New Orleans Saints were in “football purgatory,” which meant to say they weren't good enough to be a Super Bowl contender and not bad enough for a complete teardown. What about now? Mike joins Jim Derry on Wednesday's Dattitude Podcast (Ep. 431) presented by Evangeline Securities to share his thoughts, and he also talks LSU in the same boat. Of course, we have the big question: Just how hot is fire under Coach Brian Kelly as the Tigers get to the two-thirds pole this week vs. Texas A&M. Will Saints coach Kellen Moore make the change sooner rather than later from quarterback Spencer Rattler to Tyler Shough? Will Devin Neal have a much larger role now that Kendre Miller is out for the season, and Alvin Kamara has goine through a rough patch? Jim talks for a few moments on the New Orleans Pelicans season opener, and Gabe Henderson finishes off the show with for Thursday Night Football picks as the Minnesota Vikings travel to face the Los Angeles Chargers.
Mike Hoss and Bobby co-hosted the weekly "Saints Coaches Show" with Saints head coach Kellen Moore and special teams coordinator Phil Galiano. Coach Moore recapped the Saints' 26-14 loss to the Chicago Bears, emphasizing the importance of winning the turnover battle and playing complementary football. He lamented the loss of Erik McCoy and Kendre Miller to season-ending injuries. Moore also previewed New Orleans' week eight challenge against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Galiano evaluated Blake Grupe's early-season struggles.

Send us a textThe Saints have stumbled out of the gate in 2025, starting 0-4 with losses to the Cardinals, 49ers, Seahawks, and Bills. On paper, they're a confusing team — ranked 28th in scoring at just 16.5 points per game yet 2nd in total yards with 301 per game. Their passing game has been a nightmare, ranking 27th in yards per game despite throwing the ball over 37 times per contest. Spencer Rattler has been efficient with just one interception and a 67.1% completion rate, but he hasn't produced explosive plays.Giants fans — what do you think? Can Big Blue take advantage of this Saints passing attack, or does Alvin Kamara's rushing threat and Demario Davis' leadership on defense still make this a dangerous matchup? Drop your predictions in the comments and don't forget to subscribe for more weekly Giants coverage! The Saints' real strength lies in the ground game, where Kamara and rookie Kendre Miller combine for over 120 rushing yards per game. Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed lead a struggling wide receiver corps, while TE Johnson surprisingly leads the team with 204 receiving yards. On defense, the Saints are giving up 30.3 points per game — bottom of the NFL — despite allowing just 324 yards per game. Their pass rush remains dangerous thanks to Carl Granderson's 4.5 sacks and Cameron Jordan's continued dominance in his 15th season. Kool Aid McKinstry and Alontae Taylor headline a young secondary, but turnovers have been scarce. For the Giants, this is a chance to prove they've turned a corner after a rocky start. Exploiting the Saints' weak passing defense while protecting Jaxson Dart against a top-10 pass rush will be the key. This matchup sets up as a fascinating battle of strengths and weaknesses, and both teams desperately need a win to get their seasons back on track.Thank you for watching & for your support. Supposedly, the race between Tyler Shough and Spencer Rattler continues, at least according to the New Orleans Saints and Coach Kellen Moore. Did anyone's opinion change after a 17-17 tie against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday at the Caesars Superdome? Saints fans had plenty to say, and Jim Derry let them roll on our weekly Mano E Monday edition of the Dattitude Podcast (Ep. 404) presented by Evangeline Securities. While Rattler threw the best AND worst passes of the day and led the team on a great 2-minute drive to tie the score, Shough just sort of did his thing. Jim has ‘Derry's Dimes' to offer his opinion, but he also talks some about what's more concerning: the play of the offensive line. Does the trade for Jags backup center Luke Fortner help? And has Kendre Miller wrapped up the RB2 job behind starter Alvin Kamara?

Has the New Orleans Saints first preseason game against the Los Angeles Chargers changed anyone's mind on whether Tyler Shough or Spencer Rattler will win the QB1 job? It's time to ask someone outside the building for their opinion? Jim Derry brings in Ross Jackson of the “Locked on Saints Podcast” of his thoughts on Wednesday's Dattitude Podcast (Ep. 402) presented by Evangeline Securities. And what's up with all these injuries? Also, Gabe Henderson has an interesting hypothetical question for Jim, and the Dat Family – as usual – has plenty of comments and questions throughout the show.
Saints radio color analyst Deuce McAllister joined Sports Talk. Deuce evaluated veteran Velus Jones Jr., Torricelli Simpkins III, Chris Rumph II, Kelvin Banks Jr., Dillon Radunz, and Kendre Miller. He also explained what he's looking for in the Saints' quarterback competition.

Just one week into the start of New Orleans Saints training camp, and already there is plenty of interest and debate on who will win the QB1 race: Tyler Shough or Spencer Rattler. Also, we discuss who might be the primary backup behind running back Alvin Kamara, who turned 30 years old this past Friday. Will it be Cam Akers? Kendre Miller? Clyde Edwards-Helaire? Devin Neal? It's time to get feisty on a Mano E Monday edition of the Dattitude Podcast (Ep. 395) presented by Evangeline Securities. Host Jim Derry also gets a little fired up discussing comments made by podcaster Bill Simmons and his “buzz” from around the NBA that the Pelicans might move. Lastly, Gabe Henderson is here to share his personal odds on whether the Saints could have a 10-win season and what he might do if he is incorrect.
