Jordan and I talk about living in Bowling Green to join a band (Buffalo Rodeo), moving to Atlanta to start her own music project (Rose Hotel), working here in Kentucky and down there Atlanta and of course we talk relationships and how they work into the mix.
Brandon is joined by Rory Willis, producer of All Around the Dinner Table's "From the Mouths of Shepherds" LP (as well as other great releases from bands like Buffalo Rodeo and Anthologies) and drummer for great bands like Alone (on tour this November) and Bass Invaders.Andy leaves us hanging on this one, so we brought in Derek Price from Sempervivi, joining us from a hotel in Louisville, KY. Despite a very real struggle with ragweed allergies and an inconsistent "wiffy" connection, we manage to put another fun episode on the books. We talk about the usual. You know, stuff like recording and performing, why YouTube's live stream service sucks, why WiFi sucks, why technology is awesome, why technology sucks, etc... We also learn a little bit about Rory and his background in the Bowling Green music scene, why he loves self-help books, his idea to replace our Patreon support with a candy bar fundraiser, and more.Brandon also has a continuity issue with Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Man, this episode has it all!http://www.badapplerecords.netPATRON-EXCLUSIVE CONTENT: Get an exclusive early download of "Hungry Coyote" from All Around the Dinner Table's upcoming "From the Mouths of Shepherds" LP (https://www.patreon.com/posts/hungry-coyote-by-3562140).Don't forget to download our Patreon-exclusive bootleg EP from Jon Russelburg and the Sons of Man, "Live as Hell" from East Bridge 2015 (https://www.patreon.com/posts/jon-russelburg-3517336).Gain access to this and other exclusive content, discounts, and rewards at http://www.badapplerecords.net/support!

2 hours of The Dark Knight Rises after a short What's Happening and all following a moment of silence for Aurora, Colorado. Jason and Andy cover it all, in depth, and be warned, this is jammed with spoilers. Do not listen until you see the film - again, you were warned. Thanks to Buffalo Rodeo for "All the Same" and to Hans Zimmer for being a master.
Oh how we love Joss Whedon. Oh how we love all of you. Oh how we've missed Joss on a big stage and oh how we've missed doing this show. We're back with TWO SOLID HOURS to let you know CTR is alive and well and we...are...here...to...stay. Hope you enjoy the show, just as random and crazy as ever. A few audio issues that were out of our control but we tried to fix it where possible. Thanks as always to Buffalo Rodeo for "All the Same," which they generously let us use as our theme.
Plenty to get to this week as we tackle some news in television and talk films and "the next Lost" before getting to the main course, FX's Justified, which returned three weeks ago. We talk about the characters, Elmore Leonard, the on screen chemistry and tone of the show, plus the hopes of the show runner. Justified convo spins into other TV at times but the guys do their best to keep it on track. As always, Buffalo Rodeo provides the theme song - "All the Same" - which can be found at buffalorodeo.bandcamp.com. The band is almost set to release a new album and we love em!
In what will go down as a famous (or infamous) moment for CTR, Andy and Jason put you in the studio with them as they randomly conversed while the tapes were rolling. The main topic shifts from Ving Rhames to Melanie Griffith, from the worst film titles ever to horrible family portraits online and so much more. It wasn't the plan, but it provided so much random entertainment we decided to release it to show you just how INSANE these two gentlemen are. A standard What's Happening segment kicks it off. Thanks to Buffalo Rodeo for "All the Same" as they are in the process of recording their new album - new clips, crazy talk, wild pop culture randomness. This is hopefully going to be an enjoyable ninety-five minutes of pure WTF. Please try to follow along with us on IMDB - as that's where a lot of it came from... we think.
The biggest awards are still left to be handed out and Andy and Jason have a few messages for all you early adopters to the force that is CTR. In the finale of the Year in Review: - Best Acting Performance (Male) - TV and Film - Best Television Show - Best Film - Best Book - Biggest Prospect for 2012 in Pop Culture - Heartfelt thank you's to all who listen and continue to spread the word "All the Same" courtesy of Buffalo Rodeo at bandcamp.buffalorodeo.com. Special thank you's to Nate Davis for permission and assistance.
The CTR 2011 retrospective continues as Andy and Jason spend all of P2 (41 mins) continuing with the first ever Awards ceremony. Today: - Best Actress (FYI - Jason watched all of Homeland on Wednesday and now wishes he could amend his answer - expect to hear him obsess about that program REAL soon), The New "It" Thing, Biggest Missed Opportunity - Too Early To Tell Award, Most Memorable News Story of the Year - Best Sports Moment, Biggest Pop Culture Surprise, Renewed Faith Award It all finishes off with P3 on New Year's Eve, where the guys hit Best Actor, Best Film, TV, Book, Music Release, Video Game, and send off the year in grand style. Again, all of us as CTR thank you for all the continued support and the reaction to the project. Special thanks as always to Buffalo Rodeo for lending us "All the Same" for the CTR theme. Find them at bandcamp.buffalorodeo.com to hear plenty more from the rising indie rock stars.
We're BACK! Hectic holidays and vicarious vacations have kept us away for a few weeks, but CTR is back on its weekly schedule. This is the FINAL episode of 2011, split into three parts for easier consumption. In P1 the guys - - Early random banter, talk about respective Christmas' - Reminisce on Jason's trip to SC two weeks ago, including the theft - Talk Ghost Protocol, Warrior, and Stieg Larsson - Begin the Awards with the "Biggest Shame Award" - Pull a cliffhanger as we set the stage for Award 2 and pull the rug out, you'll have to wait until Friday's Part 2! Theme song generously provided by Buffalo Rodeo. "All the Same" from their Wanderers EP - head to buffalorodeo.bandcamp.com to get the whole album.
Jason and Andy welcome special guest Adam Jordan to the show as the trio discuss their favorite (and least-favorite) holiday films and then talk about gift-giving dos and don'ts for the pop culture obsessive in your life. Note: Do not buy us a sweater...unless it's a cool sweater. Some interesting stuff at the end about thinking about where your money goes and tons of fun stuff in the famous "What's Happenin" segment early in the program. Two hours of CTR, could there be anything better? Theme song courtesy of Buffalo Rodeo - "All the Same" - found on the Wanderers EP. Check it out at buffalorodeo.bandcamp.com.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours...our gift to your travels this weekend is a jampacked 2+ hours of CTR wonderfulality. It's all about stand up comedy, past and present, the changes in the art form, the all-time greats, the most overrated comedians ever, the Mount Rushmore of stand-up comedy, the best to transfer to television, film, or other mediums. We bring in a list from a stand-up connoisseur and talk about what we agree and disagree with. This is Andy and Jason as THEY got to know each other as friends years ago, coming together in a kindred spirit of jokes. There's also an odd conversation about Regis Philbin's possible replacement...from people who really don't watch that show anymore but hey, Kelly Ripa's hot! Enjoy this early holiday gift from CTR and let us know what you think. Theme provided by Buffalo Rodeo - "All the Same" from the Wanderers EP! Find it online today at buffalorodeo.bandcamp.com!
This week, we take the world of television and go into a discussion of FIVE that we think you should be watching. Two dramas and three comedies, covering How I Met Your Mother, Sons of Anarchy, Mad Men, Parks and Rec, and Community. A quick What's Happening segment and a few takes on Arkham City and Real Steel and a little randomness and you have a can't miss episode of CTR. Stick around after the closing music for a full track from Buffalo Rodeo - "Grow Up" - available at buffalorodeo.bandcamp.com on the Wanderers EP!
The boys are back in town! No, this isn't a 48 Hours podcast, we mean YOUR BOYS - JMart and AVan, along with friend of the program, Adam Jordan. The discussion centers on the Die Hard movie quadrilogy (and soon to be "quin") but not before we tackle a triple header of what's been going on in each of our lives in an elongated What's Happening segment. It's a fun discussion, do keep in mind it was recorded a few weeks ago so some of the current information may not have already happened. BIG UPS go out to our boys at Buffalo Rodeo, responsible for our theme, who finished in an awesome runner-up spot in the regional RevFest 2011 Battle of the Bands event on October 15th! Next week, we debut a full song from these guys for you at the end of the cast. They are special musicians. Photo borrowed from Craig "Lego" Lyons and his blog at Flickr.
We welcome friend of the program, Adam Jordan, into the discussion as we have a little fun for a few minutes and then move things into an ultra-serious mode as we remember our good friend, Roy Weisenborn, whose life was cut tragically short two weeks ago in an early morning car accident. The trio share some of their favorite Roy stories, talk about what made the man so special, reminisce, and close with one of his favorite songs, Orion. To all those who knew this awesome individual, this is for you. Download it, save it, keep it, and most of all, remember Roy while you listen. We miss you big guy. Opening theme courtesy of our friends, Buffalo Rodeo - "All the Same."
