Breaking down the upcoming matchup between the Niners and Chiefs. Expect a high scoring game.
Boomer wonders if Gio's opinion on how the Super Bowl will go has changed since the time we've been here. Gio is rooting for the Niners, but if he bet the game, he would bet on the Chiefs because of Patrick MAHOMES. He has too much Super Bowl experience and has been on a run as the underdog this postseason. Boomer said teams are running all over the Niners so they better figure that out. The Giants gave offensive coordinator Mike Kafka a promotion to assistant head coach. Gio said the Giants offense has been terrible so he doesn't understand why other teams wanted Mike Kafka. Boomer said he's a loyal soldier to Brian DABOLL and that's what he needs right now. Patrick MAHOMES just doesn't turn the ball over. Boomer did say MAHOMES was a game manager in the second half against Baltimore. Boomer got to interview Brock Purdy for the pregame show and thinks he will have a good Super Bowl. Jerry returns for an update and asks, ‘what's the best compliment you've ever received as a man?' There's a pic going around of Drake that shows he's got a missile down there. Chris Jones was asked if this was going to be his last game with the Chiefs. Calling Brock Purdy a game manager is not fair. Boomer said you could say that about Joe Montana if that's the case. Tiki Barber said Tom THIBODEAU is stuck in his ways and it could be getting players hurt. Jerry even has some sound from the Rangers game. Stephen A. Smith was asked about which animals he would choose to protect himself against an attack of different animals (it was confusing). A guy climbed on top of the sphere yesterday. In the final segment of the hour, we are going to a Breitling Watch event with Boomer tonight. It's getting more crowded here as it always does on Thursday of Super Bowl week.
Matt and Jake draft their annual NBA All-Star teams (even though the NBA isn't doing that anymore), go through some props for the Chiefs/Niners game, and the Top 5 party schools in the country

The Big Show boys ponder why the spread on Chiefs/Niners is slightly favoring the Niners. The gang also give some midterm grades for the St. Louis Blues ahead of the All-Star Break. Plus, under the bus to a quarterback relationship that we totally thought was serious and totally thought was rock solid.
Somehow the Chiefs are still underdogs in the Super Bowl, which Gio thinks is going to fire up Patrick Mahomes even more. The Chiefs with Patrick Mahomes are the new Patriots with Tom Brady. The Chiefs radio announcer went nuts about people doubting the Chiefs and how you have to deal with the Chiefs. Boomer recalls when his love affair with Patrick Mahomes started. Jerry is here for his first update of the day, but first Boomer talks to Gio about who Dua Lipa is dating. He's an actor in a movie about rowing. The Knicks won their seventh straight, beating the Hornets. Doc Rivers lost in his first game coaching the Bucks. Andy Reid said he met Taylor Swift before Travis Kelce did. Dan Campbell talked about all the things they did wrong in their loss to the Niners. Chris Russo is sick of seeing Chiefs/Niners. Boomer told us about the ratings for Chiefs/Ravens and it had something like 56 million viewers. In the final segment of the hour, Gio had a problem with a left lane driver going slow on the LIE. Boomer said we all get a little crazy while driving on the LIE. It's also funny to see the same cars on the road at the same time on your way to work.

Boomer said we all get a little crazy while driving on the LIE. It's also funny to see the same cars on the road at the same time on your way to work. Hour 2 Ochocinco told Shannon Sharpe that Beyonce would have caused just as large an uproar if she was dating Travis Kelce as Taylor Swift is. Shannon does not agree. Tough to compare because Taylor is at the height of her success and Beyonce's was a few years ago. When the camera was on her in this past game, she mouthed, ‘go away please'. Gio can't believe Boomer doesn't know who Scooter Braun is, even though he claims to be a huge Taylor Swift fan. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the audio of Ochocinco and Shannon Sharpe discussing Beyonce and Taylor Swift. Andy Reid talked about looking forward to using the Raiders facility in Vegas. Reid also talked about the injury status of Kadarius Toney. Tom Brady talked about Dan Campbell and how he must feel losing in the championship game. The Knicks smashed the Hornets last night 113-92. Jerry went around the NBA last night. In the final segment of the hour, Gio was looking for a golf partner for Friday in Vegas. Stephen Waldron at CBS changed his flight so he can play with Gio. Hour 3 Gio wonders where all the stories about Andy Reid maybe retiring come from. Andy Reid and the Chiefs have been dominant for years. Why stop now? We also talked about the Chiefs drafting Mahomes and then letting him sit behind Alex Smith. We also talked about music we played trying to get our young kids to fall asleep. A caller thinks Stugotz is the one that started the rumor of Andy Reid retiring. Boomer still thinks the NFL is going to go to an 18-game schedule and then the Super Bowl will be the Sunday before Presidents Day. Jerry returns for an update and starts with audio from Evan Roberts' Mets podcast. His guest was Adam Wainwright and Evan introduced him by asking, ‘can you go f*** yourself?' Evan is a shock jock. In the final segment of the hour, Karen Carson and the morning show at 102.7 call in with a Dua Lipa update. She is coming to NYC when we are in Vegas for Super Bowl week. Hour 4 Evan Roberts is trying to get out of this beard bet by playing pickleball against Shaun Morash. Morash will probably throw the match so Evan wins and he can shave the beard he said he wouldn't shave until the Mets extended Pete Alonso. He is welching on a bet. Boomer wonders why Gio will play golf anywhere, but wouldn't play softball. Gio doesn't want to get hurt in the Summer running out a ground ball. Jerry returns for his final update of the morning and starts with Andy Reid saying he needs to make sure players stay away from the strip in Vegas. We talked about how great Brock Purdy has been the last two seasons. Jerry has audio of Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco talking about the price of Viagra. The Knicks beat the Hornets in Charlotte, their seventh straight win. The Moment of The Day involves Dua Lipa's visit to the show, and it's not good news. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer has been studying Lamar Jackson's dropbacks in the championship game. Elon Musk's Neuralink went into the first human brain. You can also pay at Whole Foods by using your palm.

The Super Bowl matchup is set between the Chiefs and Niners. Chiefs/Ravens was an incredible physical game. Gio swore he would never bet against Mahomes again, and yet he took the Ravens. Mahomes is the undisputed king. He is impossible to topple. He's like a surgeon. Lamar Jackson threw a terrible pick in the end zone in the fourth quarter. Travis Kelce had his best game ever. Gio said Patrick Mahomes made Travis Kelce and Andy Reid immortal. The Ravens had a ton of terrible penalties which killed them. The Lions twice went for it on 4th down and failed, when they could have gone for field goals. Jerry is here for his first update and starts with the audio of Zay Flowers fumbling at the goal line resulting in a touchback. Mahomes talked about all the big plays from Kelce. John Harbaugh said he told the team to walk out of the stadium with their heads held high. Lamar Jackson talked about the turnovers. Jerry also has audio from the Niners win over the Lions and the Brandon Aiyuk catch off the Lions' defender's helmet. Christian McCaffrey talked about the elite Brock Purdy. Dan Campbell talked about the disappointment of losing to the Niners. In the final segment of the hour, SNL did a skit about the NFL Today but left out Boomer. And why did the lights go out on CBS during the halftime show? Boomer was told somebody tripped over a wire and pulled it out of the socket.
Pat recaps the Chiefs 17-10 win over the Ravens, takes an early look at the Chiefs/Niners, and gives his Beast of the Week. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

When the NFL regular season ended, it was time to say goodbye to RedZone, to 17 weeks of multi screen NFL viewing, to lazy Sundays on the couch with nothing to do but revel in the glory of watching football. But we still had the Playoffs, three more weeks of exciting games that were almost enough to make us forget, football season is almost over. It's that time of year again, that moment of existential crisis football fans collectively feel as we face the end of another season. It takes a few weeks to get used to the change, but after a while, as the actual seasons turn and spring approaches, you learn to venture outside again and life moves on. I know it's hard sports fans, I've been there, but I'm telling you as someone who knows things about sports, the NFL will be back. But in the meantime, we still have one more glorious football Sunday to enjoy, the high holiday of the NFL and the matchup couldn't be better. The Chiefs endured an up and down season, with injuries to Patrick Mahomes and unsteady defensive play counterbalancing an exciting and explosive offense. Meanwhile, the 49ers were the model of consistency, pretty much staking their claim to the NFC in September and never looking back. Their defense is at times unblockable, impenetrable, unmovable and inextricable, and the running game, unstoppable, but their QB? In a word, unpredictable, just like this NFL season was, and today, we're looking back at a campaign that was all over the map, with erratic betting patterns, trojan horse Playoff teams, sudden ascensions and a fallen dynasty. The big game is still a ways away, so no previews just yet; today it's all about celebrating another great year and how we got here, to Chiefs/Niners in Super Bowl 54! So sit back, the Super Bowl matchup is decided, the NBA season is just getting going and we're breaking down how it's all unfolding, next on the Roundup Podcast, so let's get rolling . . .
