Kelly Cates presents Super Sunday from the Emirates and is joined by Jamie Redknapp, Les Ferdinand, and Paul Merson, who analyse Arsenal's 1-0 win against Newcastle, which sees them secure Champions League football for next season after a stunning second-half strike from Declan Rice. The win also means the Gunners are likely to finish runners-up again in the Premier League, and Merse says Arsenal must be serious contenders for the title by Christmas, otherwise he thinks the club will replace Mikel Arteta. The trio also discuss the earlier game on Super Sunday, which saw Nottingham Forest keep their hopes of playing Champions League football next campaign after their 2-1 win at West Ham. They then give their views on who they believe will finish in the top five, with Merse saying that he is worried about Manchester City's chances of making the cut. The Europa League final on Wednesday will see either Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur also qualify for Europe's prestige club competition, and they give their predictions on who will be victorious in Bilbao.
Three EU countries go to the polls in "Super Sunday" elections and European leaders will attempt to talk to Trump ahead of Putin talks.
In this episode, our co-hosts Gabriel Hedengren (@ghedengren) and Javid Ibad (@javidibad) provide a recap of local results and then preview an important date in 2025 for Europe. Super Sunday will take place on 18 May, and Europe Elects will have complete coverage. One of these elections is the second round of the Romanian Presidential Election. To gain more insight for this important contest, they interview Sergiu Mișcoiu, Professor of Political Science at the Faculty of European Studies in Babes-Bolyai University.
There's a Super Sunday on the horizon, with tasty matches back-to-back all day long. Arsenal-Chelsea, title clashes in Italy and Spain. As always, you can get the lowdown on all the matches worth your time this coming weekend at TheFootballWeekend.com.But there's one headliner here, because there's a trophy up for grabs: It's LIVERPOOL vs NEWCASTLE at Wembley Stadium, vying for the League Cup.It could be a nice tonic for the Reds after their untimely exit from the Champions League in midweek, while a trophy — any trophy — would be extremely timely for the Magpies. Newcastle United have not won a piece of major silverware since 1969. Their victory in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup came a month before the moon landing. Here to preview this one is Laurence McKenna, Liverpool fan and sharp football observer across all kinds of platforms, not least his channel on YouTube. David Jones is joined by Gary Neville, Roy Keane, Jamie Redknapp and Paul Merson as the panel analyse Manchester United's 1-1 draw with Arsenal in the Premier League that sees the Gunners now lie 15 points behind Liverpool in the race for the title. There was also much discussion around Bruno Fernandes' fabulous free-kick as the Arsenal wall wasn't measured to be 10 yards, as well as some super goalkeeping from Gunners goalkeeper David Raya as he made two top draw saves.
Sky Sports' Football Journalists Ron Walker, Peter Smith, Nick Wright & David Richardson assess the progress (or lack of) being made by Ruben Amorim, how that compares to Mikel Arteta's improvement of Arsenal and whether the Portuguese can again restrict the Gunners after their goal glut at PSV. You can watch Manchester United against Arsenal live on Super Sunday from 4.30pm on Sky Sports.

The McLaren and Aston Martin Formula 1 teams are preparing for a “Super Sunday” in Brazil. For just the sixth time in the sport's history, both qualifying and the race are taking place on the same day. Stormy weather is testing the teams' resources and resolve at the Interlagos Circuit, home to the Sao Paulo Grand Prix. The teams and drivers arrive at the track at the crack of dawn, ready to think on their feet in a marathon day ahead. After a well-orchestrated performance in Saturday's Sprint Race, Championship contenders McLaren are looking to seize advantage on Sunday. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri know they must work together to claim maximum points for the team. At Aston Martin, Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll sense an opportunity in the wet. All the drivers know that rain can level the playing field at any grand prix, and this weekend is no different. It's the Monday after the race before. Brazil's historic Interlagos circuit staged another epic grand prix, and one which may prove pivotal in McLaren's hunt for both World titles. Now, it's time for the Aston Martin and McLaren teams to return to their factories. Back at base, they can analyse their performance with the bulk of the team who don't travel to the races. Aston Martin race engineers Chris Cronin and Andrew Vizard explain how vital the factory debriefs are to understanding what went right - or wrong - after every race, and how to take the learnings into the next event. Drivers Stroll and Alonso may be taking time to recuperate after an epic race weekend but they stay in touch with their engineers and work going on back at base.At McLaren, team boss Andrea Stella is making it his mission to create a winning culture at the factory, as well as at the track. The Italian is only in his second season as team principal but has driven the team into title contention. Back at base, he shares some of the secrets to his success so far.Aston Martin are also plotting a renaissance under new Group CEO Andy Cowell. Our guides Sarah Holt and Holly Samos are given a VIP pass to join the workforce assembled at the heart of the factory as Cowell makes his first address to the team. While Aston Martin are looking to the future, McLaren must focus on the present. This is a team who has won multiple World titles. Now the factory is fixed on ending the 26-year wait for the next Constructors' crown and they are determined to protect their lead over rivals Ferrari and Red Bull. British star Lando Norris hasn't given up his hopes of reeling in reigning champion Max Verstappen in the drivers' standings. With three races left to go in the 2024 season, there is still all to play for. F1:Back at Base is narrated by Josh Hartnett. It is created and produced by Sarah Holt and Holly Samos and is an IMG Production for the BBC.

Dave Jones presents Super Sunday from the Etihad Stadium and is joined by Roy Keane, Daniel Sturridge, Micah Richards, and Jamie Carragher, who analyse and discuss Liverpool's 2-0 victory against Manchester City which sees the league-leaders move eleven points clear and close in on the Premier League title. Carra believes the title race is now over, saying ‘no one is catching them'.There is also reaction from both goalscorers, Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai, with the former reiterating his hunger to win another title at Anfield. Arne Slot and Pep Guardiola also give their postmatch thoughts to Patrick Davison.
The Super Sunday team look back as Spurs heaped more misery on Manchester United with a 1-nil win in Tottenham. Gary Neville believes Manchester United's performances under Ruben Amorim have not been good enough. Liverpool held onto their lead over Wolves to go seven points clear at the top of the table.
