In Part 1, Lee tells Paul about his travels to watch pod favourites Greenland and San Marino live during their respective trips to Austria over the international window. How did he impact the course of the Arctic island's match against Slovenia from the sidelines? What insights did he glean from inside the Greenland camp? Why is the legendary Austrian striker Toni Polster so bitter towards San Marino? And what question did Lee ask SM coach Roberto Cevoli at the press conference following his side's double-digit defeat? There's more groundhopping tales to tell in Part 2 – but this time from the club game, because Lee has also been to watch Paks against Ferencváros in a Hungarian top-of-the-table clash in Budapest. What resemblance do Hungary's surprise league leaders bear to Athletic Bilbao of Spain? Why is their ultra group named 'Atomic Strike'? Why did thousands of Ferencváros fans change places in the stands five minutes into the match? And why might we not recommend live football in Hungary to groundhoppers? Hop Forward: Getting You Ahead in the Brewing and Beer Business
In this episode, Nick sits down with Dean & Jill Baker, the husband-and-wife team behind Bakers Dozen Brewing. Based in Rutland, the smallest county in the UK, the Bakers have built a lifestyle business from scratch — just the two of them — while balancing the headaches of running a brewery while keeping their relationship sweet.Once landlords of The Jolly Brewer in Stamford, the Bakers share how they cleared out the drug dealers and bad curtains from their pub and turning it into one of the market-town's favourite public houses, before tiring of being landlords and exchanging and beer-engines for mash paddles.Over the course of this conversation, we dig into what it really takes to run a two-person brewery, how they've won national awards like SIBA Golds for Undertow and Bull Run despite being small, and share their insights on running a marriage and a business together.Nick also shares his views on how bucket hats have brought more people out drinking this summer. Also, stick around right to the very end as Dean & Jill contend with what their correct email address is...!FIND OUT MORE ABOUT BAKERS DOZENBUY THE BEER | TRADE INFOTHIS WEEK'S EPISODE IS PROUDLY BROUGHT TO YOU BY:Charles Faram & Co (charlesfaram.com)Supplying hops for over 150 years, Charles Faram offers a vast range of nitrogen-flushed hop varieties from the UK, Europe, New Zealand, and the USA.Crisp Malt (crispmalt.com)Since 1870, Crisp has blended tradition with innovation, producing malts like Chevallier Heritage and Clear Choice Malt.FOLLOW HOP FORWARDhopforward.beer | LinkedIn | BlueSky | Instagram
The baker at House of Bread Anthony, shares his own recipe and the process of how to make, mix, stretch, fold, and use the Dutch Oven. 350 grams of white bread flour100 grams of whole wheat flour 100 grams of sourdough starter390 grams of warm water10 grams of saltAfter mixing add in 1/4 cup of Sesame Seeds and 3/4 cupDried Cranberries during the stretch and fold. -Always cover your dough in the fridge, toplayer needs to stay moist, even air movement in a home fridge will dry out thetop of dough. -Preheat Dutch oven for welldeveloped crust and strong oven spring, (500 degrees 45 minutes Dutch ovenpreheat) drop oven to 450 to proceed with baking steps when Dutch Oven Preheatis complete. -Line the cloth in proofingbasket well with gold flour for overnight proof, absorbs slower than whitebread flower. -If you notice dough isstruggling to hold shape before baking, put dough with proofing basket 10minutes into freezer: This helps with oven spring, makes scoring easier, strengthens dough structure, begin baking process after dough is pulled fromfreezer. -Pay attention to startertemp, if you are looking to feed and have your starter ready for dough makingin 4-6 hours, you'll want starter temp to maintain something closer to 80-84average, this helps with a healthy dough temp when mixing the dough and yeastactivity. -When the dough is beingmixed, we're looking for gluten development and active fermentation in a warmenvironment — this builds structure and begins the rise as the wild yeast feedsand produces gas. When we put the dough into thefridge, we're looking for slow fermentation and flavor development. The cold environment slows downyeast activity while allowing enzymes and beneficial bacteria to continueworking, which improves the dough's complexity, strengthens the gluten, andenhances crust and crumb texture. It also makes the dough easier to handle andscore before baking.Happy Baking Everyone!. In this heartfelt exploration of whiskey's role in life's meaningful transitions, Tiny shares how bourbon brought his family together during a memorial service for his wife's uncle Peter, creating lasting bonds through shared pours of rare bottles like JW Dant from 1969 and May Day Rye.The spotlight then turns to Baker's High Rye Limited Edition, a fascinating twist on the classic expression. This single barrel, 7-year 9-month bourbon delivers an impressive flavor transformation while maintaining the brand's signature smooth, slick mouthfeel. Through a meticulous tasting, Tiny reveals why this 107-proof special release earns a perfect 18/18 score on the Old Louisville Whiskey Company barrel bottle breakdown—with its intense cherry candy nose, cinnamon-apple palate, and exceptionally long holiday spice finish that outperforms even the beloved original Baker's.Bourbon enthusiasts will appreciate the detailed side-by-side comparison between the high rye expression and the traditional Baker's, highlighting how rye content transforms the whiskey while preserving its essential character. Today's witness is from a news clip I saw on YouTube. It was a segment that aired on CBN. This witness is about a man who got a diagnosis that seemed like it was a life sentence. The doctors said there was nothing they could do to help this man. The family knew even if the doctors couldn't do anything, God could. When you listen to this witness I hope you don't treat it like a nice story. I pray that you hear it and you recognize the power of God working in this story and that you know in your heart that God can do the same in your impossible story story!!When you're going to the doctor and you hear nothing encouraging, that's when your faith is going to have to stand. In November 2020, Gerilyn Baker's husband David started having constant nosebleeds. Doctors removed a polyp from his sinus cavity, but soon after, things got worse. When his face began to swell, his wife thought he had an infection, and she told him they needed to contact the doctor quickly. The results of a CT scan shocked the family. David's brother-in-law, Chuck Denny, was there. They told him he had stage four nasal cavity melanoma. The options they gave him, they said surgery wasn't an option because the facial disfigurement would be too massive. They told us that there was really nothing that they could do.Chemo wasn't for that type that he had. I'd never seen anybody healed of cancer. Every time I heard the word cancer, it was a death sentence. And I felt like unless God moved, David wasn't going to make it. My first thought was that, from my teaching, we need to move into a fast and seek God and see God heal him. David's face rapidly swelled to the point where he couldn't eat or see out of his right eye. Pastor Mark Gilbert remembers the many prayers from multiple church locations and beyond. Both church families were praying for David, and there was a multitude of other people. It wasn't just our churches.David used to be a pastor himself, so there are a lot of people that he knows that was praying for him in different areas of the country, just believing God for the turnaround in his life. Several times a day, we would pray together, and there were times when you felt like you were just lost for words. You felt like you were only repeating yourself because you were worn out.He was worn down from this sickness. His condition just kept getting worse, but the prayers at that point we didn't see much. This was swelling inside of his mouth as fast as it was on the outside, and he couldn't hardly eat.It was just terrible, and we knew that we were facing a horrible storm in life. On Easter morning, Dr. Tom Renfro and his wife Sid were visiting their church for a special prayer service. Remembering her husband's own miraculous healing from cancer, Sid was moved with compassion to pray for David. When I prayed for David, I don't touch people's head. I normally just touch their shoulders, but I did touch his face because I wanted to be very specific and very direct. The wife remembers standing there, and she thought, it's going to come off in her hand because you could feel such a presence of God's Spirit.Sid prayed a prayer that her dad had prayed. By this time tomorrow, this side of your face will look like this side of your face, because that prayer had worked for her dad. The day after Easter, something amazing happened. David said, There's a change in my face. Do you see it? His wife said, I've already seen it. He looked at his wife and I said, I see a change in my face. She said, I do too, but I was afraid to say anything. So they decided to go eat with their family again. They said, well, let's just see what they have to say.And they all saw him, and they said, that thing's shrinking. And it was just a matter of days, it was gone. David's tumor vanished, and doctors later confirmed he is now cancer-free.The Bakers are forever thankful to God for answering their prayers. The wife said, “There are many people who have a diagnosis like David, and I feel like they saw death. Maybe they prepared for death. But I'd say, don't give up. I'd say, take His Word into your spirit, and I'd say, believe it with everything you've got because that's what we've done. His brother said, “When I witnessed David up close and personal with him, I mean, it just boosted my faith. I mean, I know that God can do anything, big, little. It don't matter.”Sid said, “God can move in anything. I felt jubilant when I saw the picture, and the tumor was gone, and he had a normal face.”Someone else said, “When I see David now, I think about the benevolence of God, the mercy of God, that God in this state of David's life, in his older years, that God has proven His faithfulness to him.Well, I'm thankful that, you know, what happened, that God healed me. I'm thankful for that. I've never doubted what God was capable of doing. I've always believed that He's the healer, that He can heal cancer, He can heal heart attacks, He can heal anything that's affected man. He can take care of it if we'll just believe Him and walk in His Word and not let doubt and unbelief, because that stops the hand of God. But I'm very thankful.Thank you to David, his family, and everyone else who is sharing their story about the miracles in their lives. We need to hear these miracles to be reminded that nothing is too great for God. We need to be reminded that there is always a way, even when we don't see one. This is a great reminder that even cancer is not too big for our God!Click Here for the video www.findingtruenorthcoaching.comCLICK HERE TO DONATECLICK HERE to sign up for Mentoring CLICK HERE to sign up for Daily "Word from the Lord" emailsCLICK HERE to sign up for my newsletter & receive a free audio training about inviting Jesus into your daily lifeCLICK HERE to buy my book Total Trust in God's Safe Embrace
