Welcome to Part 3 of White Noise for Your Baby! In Part 3, all the stars are tucked into bed as Papa Moon rests near by; everyone enjoying a great night of sleep! This time with 8 hours of white noise sounds! While playing white noise for babies, it's important to keep tabs on the volume, because any white noise machine, smartphone, or computer can put out levels that are too loud for your child. It's recommended to play the sound at least a few feet from where your infant is sleeping and to keep the volume no louder than the sound of a soft shower. Parents can download an app to turn their smartphone into a sound level meter. One good, free, option is the sound level meter app created by the U.S. National Institutes for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) available on the app store as the NIOSH SLM app. Here are some great products to help you sleep! This week, we preview our upcoming free Holistic Integration educational seminar happening this Wednesday, January 29th at 6 p.m.  In this episode, you'll learn:—How 80% of your immune system is in the gut and your gut health is one of the biggest indicators of how healthy you're going to be.—Why Dr. Prather says that there is more "non-you than you in your body" when you are talking about the number of cells in the body and your gut flora.—The importance of an annual blood test, hair analysis, and gut check that Dr. Prather uses as the starting point for getting to the root cause of his patients' health. —How the detailed gut health lab report has grown to 30-pages from just 12-pages two years ago because of all the advances in gut research.—Why Dr. Prather says skin health issues like Eczema and Psoriasis originate in the gut, along with Cardiovascular Disease, Cancer, Diabetes, and "all autoimmune disease".—The "menagerie" of supplements, including prebiotics and probiotics, available at Holistic Integration to help balance out a person's gut health.  And how they can test in advance to see which supplements will work best for each patient.—Why Dr. Prather says that Fiber is the #1 supplement he recommends that everyone needs more of, BUT that patients also need to have their gut healed before they can handle the amount of Fiber they need.—How one Mom told Dr. Prather that he "saved her sanity" by helping her screaming, Colicky baby with proper probiotics.  And how a stool kit is an easy way to check an infant's health.—The warning Dr. Prather gives to patients about gut cleanses and the more gentle approach he recommends instead.  And how Dr. Prather is able to help Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, Diverticulitis, Diverticulosis, Irritable Bowel Disorder, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. —Why Dr. Prather says "you have to go to the gut" with "almost all learning disorders", ADD/ADHD, and Autism.  And the role of Chiropractic, Acupuncture, and Diathermy in helping provide what is sometimes immediate relief for abdominal pain from Pancreatitis and Gallbladder attacks.http://www.TheVoiceOfHealthRadio.com

Sometimes our babies won't fall asleep, and we can't figure out why. They could be changed, fed, warm, but nothing seems to work. Many parents will put their little one in the car and drive around the block to see if that helps them fall asleep, which can often times be pretty effective. However, what happens when you get back to the house and your little one wakes up? You can't be driving around the block forever! That is where we come in! Our car ride sounds can mimic the noise heard from inside the car. Millions of parents use white noise for sleeping to help their children get some shut-eye. Next time your child struggles to sleep, you should give this white noise sound a try! When we talk about the newborn stage, grief, anger, and resentment aren't often words we hear. However, for many mamas with colicky babies (or other difficulties) it can be one of the most trying and difficult times a new mama faces. On today's episode, Lauren Driscoll opens up about her experience with her first baby and shares how it impacted her feelings about motherhood, mental health, and the future of her family. As a part-time social worker who works with families during difficult periods of grieving—a large part of her career being in oncology—she eloquently talks about how grief can become a part of our motherhood journeys—and how we can move forward from it. Lauren is now a mom of two girls - Madison (3) and Emerson (10 weeks). Together, we talk about the transition between one kid and two, and how it can change the way we view ourselves and our motherhood journeys. As always, I am a big cheerleader for any type of community that helps mamas feel seen, heard, and validated. As a way to create a community with Jewish moms, Lauren started the @ourshalomhome Instagram account, to connect with Jewish moms, share ideas, and showcase her creativity.Connect with Lauren at @ourshalomhome or @laurendriscoll22LET'S CONNECT: Join our Moms of the Night community on Instagram: @momsofthenightpodcastAnd if you're loving the podcast, be sure to drop a 5 star rating and give us a review - it helps us greatly with reaching moms who also need to hear these words!

Does this scenario sound familiar to you? You have your baby and everything is going great the first few days or weeks. Suddenly your baby starts to cry and cry and cry. You try all different swaddles, ways to bounce your baby, wear your baby or soothe their tummy. During your visit to your pediatrician they tell you, “you have a colicky baby.” What does it mean to have a colicky baby? What are the misconceptions- gas, reflux, colic? Could it be affected by gut health? For those who have gone through this or currently experiencing this, what kind of emotional physiological support did you need from having a colicky baby? It can really impact you and your whole family. To dive deeper into this topic, today on Yoga| Birth| Babies we have Megan Dishman. She is an emergency room nurse in Utah. Megan was shocked in 2021 by her own postpartum experience with a colicky baby. This is such an important topic. Something I learned during this conversation is 20% of babies fit the criteria of colic. This information brings to light how the first several weeks and months of new parenthood can be.  Megan will break down some of the misconceptions of colic and give ways to support parents through this challenging time. If you're in this category or know someone who is, she offers amazing advice on how to support new parents. I sincerely think you'll receive so much from today's episode. Millions of babies love white noise as it generates a sound reminiscent of the womb and can create a calm and familiar environment that lulls them to sleep. You guys. It happened. I blinked and my tiny colicky-baby got her license. I keep repeating to myself, “She's a good driver. She's ready for this. She's a good driver.” But still, I think one of the hardest parts of parenting is celebrating the well-earned independence of our growing children, while trying not to openly grieve the stage we're leaving. I needed to call a friend to help with this transition. And it just so happens that I have a friend who is a parenting coach who always knows the right thing to say. Dr. Hope Seidel has been a pediatrician for more than 20 years. About ten years into her career, she began to notice she was healing parents more than children. She is now a parenting coach offering regular parenting classes and 1:1 parent coaching in her practice, Parent with Hope. Her words were so helpful. We invited her on this week's podcast to help us all deal with these big transitions in parenting. Dr. Wiplove Lamba and Jean-Paul Michael went through Matthew Perry Audiobook, ‘friends, lovers, and the big terrible thing' on his recovery journey. It was a moving and powerful experience. They learned about early attachment trauma, substance use, and the internal and extremely dangerous life threatening struggles he has faced. They also learned about his experience in various treatment programs he attended and his near death experience. While both Wip and JP do not work in private treatment centers, some of the items brought up were extremely interesting and relevant to addiction practice in general. We are hoping to promote discussion and bring awareness to all things relating to addiction medicine and recovery, both from the practitioner and patient perspective. While we both believe in and practice harm reduction approaches when the patient prefers or if it is indicated, it did not come up in the book or in our dialogue around these quotes. Baby is ready for bed but won't fall asleep. Mom tries to soothe infant but baby is colicky and crying. This calming white noise for babies sound can help soothe a fussy baby. At 8 hours long, the baby white noise plays all night. Great for helping a newborn get to sleep and to remain sleeping throughout the night!
