Told surgery is your only option? In this episode, Nurse Doza shares five evidence-informed actions to support your gallbladder—clean up diet, detox the liver, fix the gut, fast strategically, and use hot/cold exposure—so you can reduce symptoms and keep your gallbladder functioning as designed. Keyword: gallbladder 5 KEY TAKEAWAYS 1. Cut inflammatory foods (processed oils, sugars, most dairy; refined grains) and favor proteins, healthy fats, and veggies. 2. Support liver detox with foods (turmeric, garlic/onion, crucifers, omega-3s) and targeted nutrients (NAC, milk thistle, ALA, taurine, Bs/minerals). 3. Restore the gut with fiber-rich “gut foods,” glutamine, and consistent motility. 4. Use 24–36-hour fasting windows to improve bile dynamics and metabolic signaling. 5. Add heat/cold exposure to influence bile acids, cholesterol handling, and energy balance. One in four adults is walking around with fatty liver, and most have no idea how much it can affect their energy, digestion, and long-term health. Now, when you combine fatty liver disease with losing your gallbladder, the very organ that helps break down fats, you've got a whole new set of challenges to navigate.Suddenly, your body has to relearn how to handle fats, which can make things feel even more complicated. Living with fatty liver with no gallbladder can feel frustrating, but the good news is you have more control than you think. That's why we're so glad to chat on IG Live with Lisa Winbourn, a Functional Nutritionist with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. During this Live, we're going to discuss why it's hard to lose weight with fatty liver disease and no gallbladder, tips to improve digestion, why protein is so important, and so much more. This FREE guide shows you how: https://drbrg.co/470t2J6The gallbladder is a small sac that sits below the liver with the following important functions:•Bile storage and concentration•Regulation of bile release •Cholesterol regulation•Antimicrobial functions•Hunger and blood sugar control•Detox support •Helps trigger the antioxidant glutathione Bile is vital for the breakdown of fats, so you can absorb fat-soluble vitamins A, E, D, K1, K2, and omega-3 fatty acids. Bile can also help thyroid hormones work more efficiently. Gallbladder removal surgery is often the result of gallbladder stones. Gallstones come from a lack of bile. People are often told the following lies and convinced into gallbladder removal surgery:•There are no other options.•A diseased gallbladder causes gallstones.•You can't prevent gallstones with diet.•Gallbladder removal does not cause complications.•Post-cholecystectomy is controversial.•Gallstones that result from pregnancy require gallbladder removal surgery. Gallstones can be caused by high levels of estrogen, being overweight, and diabetes, but one of the biggest gallbladder stone causes is high insulin!Insulin resistance resulting from chronically high insulin levels can prevent the liver from producing adequate bile and weaken the gallbladder. A low-carb diet and intermittent fasting are the best solutions for gallbladder stones. Your microbes also produce bile, so anything that destroys them can affect bile. Antibiotics and low-fat, low-cholesterol diets increase the risk for gallstones.Fatty fish has the most potent effect on bile production. You can also increase bile with cholesterol foods such as butter, eggs, shellfish, seafood, and liver. Egg yolks and liver are high in choline, a key nutrient vital for bile production. Bitter greens, arugula, radish, celery, and sauerkraut can help make additional bile salts.Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio:Dr. Berg, age 60, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. You'll often hear host Jamie Belz, FNTP, MHC say that the Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) program changed her life. In this fun, personal, and insightful roundtable episode of the Nutritional Therapy and Wellness Podcast, Jamie sits down with three current NTP students to share how the program is already transforming their health, their families, and their futures. Just over three months into their studies with the Nutritional Therapy Association (NTA), these students are proving how powerful it is to learn the Foundations of Health—digestion, nutrient-dense diet, blood sugar regulation, sleep, stress, movement, and hydration. No band-aid fixes here—this is about getting to the root cause of health and disease, and honoring the truth of bio-individuality: there is no one-size-fits-all approach to wellness. Discover how nutrition and lifestyle foundations are changing lives in real time: Michlind shares her passion for filling the nutrition gap in youth who have aged out of foster care, parents reuniting with their children, and anti-human-trafficking recovery programs. Katie, a culinary pro living with Crohn's disease, explains how bio-individual nutrition transformed her gut health and daily life. Alyson opens up about her journey from residential eating disorder treatment to vibrant health through nutrient-dense, whole foods and the power of bio-individuality. Together, they open up about: The sleep stages and circadian rhythm hacks that blew their minds. Why digestion truly is the cornerstone of health—and how even chewing changes everything. The myths of the low-fat movement, the truth about fats and gallbladder health, and how diet culture has failed us. Simple, practical wins you can try today—like apple cider vinegar before meals, soaking and sprouting grains, or turning off screens before bed. What it really means to be your own health advocate when mainstream solutions fall flat. This episode is packed with nutrition tips, digestion insights, and inspiring stories of transformation. If you've ever thought, “It's all too much—where do I start?” this conversation will offer a variety of starting points as well as some of the science backing the foundational teachings of the NTA. She also discusses how robotic surgery has improved outcomes and made recovery smoother for patients. Whether you're currently dealing with abdominal discomfort or simply want to better understand the surgical process, Dr. Meherg offers practical insight from diagnosis to post-op.

Dust off your old cans of soup, it's time for another Campbellushi Day! Of course there's a sketch and voting for 2025's Campbellushian, but you also get to hear about which of Adam's organs was, at long last, rejected by the rest of his body. Paul needs to think about his contribution to the "2000 from the 2000's" list, so Doug and Charlie stall with some taste tests.
Why did I struggle to get pregnant after my gallbladder was removed?”“Could my thyroid issues be connected to liver or bile flow?”If you've ever asked questions like these, this episode will bring clarity and empowerment.
It's National Donut Day, but Eddie is afraid that public donut consumption might make it back to Frank. But how should he handle poor gym etiquette and an awkward sauna encounter? Ange Postecoglou is gone at Tottenham, but were Spurs right to get rid of a manager who delivered their first European success and got them back in the Champions League, even if the Premier League season was disastrous? Plus, the Pittsburgh Steelers sign Aaron Rodgers, Kurts Adams Rozentals causes a splash in Olympic Canoeing with his OnlyFans, and the finals of Roland Garros serve up a tasty treat in both the men's and women's draws.
Eating clean but still feeling off? In this episode, Nurse Doza breaks down how a bad diet can still sneak into your routine—even when it looks “healthy.” Learn the hidden signs your body is reacting to the wrong foods and how to course-correct using simple, powerful strategies. 5 KEY TAKEAWAYS Not all “healthy” foods are healthy for you—bio-individuality matters. Bloating, fatigue, and brain fog may be signs of food sensitivities. Bad diet patterns can persist even on whole food diets. Gut symptoms often point to deeper imbalances in the liver and gallbladder. You can reset your digestion by supporting detox pathways and microbiome health. FEATURED PRODUCT Good Poops Protocol – A targeted gut, liver, and gallbladder support bundle. As discussed in this episode, symptoms of a bad diet often trace back to poor digestion and sluggish detox. This protocol is designed to restore healthy elimination, reduce bloating, and promote microbiome balance.

Brain fog eraser Brain fog is typically the result of a hypoglycemic situation, so increasing your high-quality protein intake is a helpful solution. The best protein source is nutrient-dense red meat. 2. Increase CO2Stress affects breathing and can cause you to take in too much oxygen. Increasing carbon dioxide by breathing through your nose may help with stress and also improve sleep, especially if you're stressed out.3. Gallbladder massageTo find the gallbladder, press underneath the right rib cage and massage this area. This can help improve digestion and eliminate right shoulder pain.4. Acupressure for pain reliefThe best acupressure technique for pain involves finding the mirror location of your pain on the opposite side of the body. Instead of applying pressure to the pain, you'll apply pressure to this spot. 5. Fix tight musclesBe sure to stretch the muscle opposite of the muscle that's causing you problems.6. Sea salt under the tongueThis works for weak muscles and can also work for fatigue.7. Neck pain relief for instant relaxationA relaxed neck is vital for good sleep. For neck pain relief, apply pressure at the base of the hairline for instant relaxation. Apply pressure to this spot for about 2 minutes.8. Apple cider vinegarCombine 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with 3 to 4 ounces of water. Wait about 2 minutes and drink one more! This helps digestion and triggers the pancreas and gallbladder to release digestive juices.9. Joint pain relief exercises Joint pain typically stems from a problem with your fascia—the connective tissue that covers the entire body. Stretching the fascia on the opposite side of the pain can often provide joint pain relief. 10. Headache pain relief Headaches often stem from past head injuries. Acupressure can provide headache pain relief if you apply pressure around the painful area. 11. Sinus relief Acupressure massage can provide instant relief for any type of breathing problem, such as sleep apnea, a deviated septum, and sinus problems. Story at-a-glance Gallbladder removal surgery leads to constant bile dripping into your intestines, making fat digestion unpredictable and often causing diarrhea, gas, and bloating Up to 40% of people experience post-cholecystectomy syndrome, with symptoms like nausea, upper abdominal pain, and digestive distress lasting for months or longer Bile reflux is common after gallbladder surgery and causes burning discomfort and heartburn, especially if you eat large or high-fat meals Retained gallstones in the bile ducts might still form after surgery, leading to infections, pain, and the need for additional medical intervention Eating small, low-fat meals, introducing soluble fiber, staying well-hydrated, and watching for serious symptoms are key to easing digestive problems and supporting long-term recovery
In this episode of the Gutsy Health Podcast, Dr. Rodgers and Juanique Grover unpack the powerful connection between liver health and hormone balance — and why true healing starts far upstream. They explain the "order of healing" (mindset → mitochondria → gut → liver → hormones) and why treating hormone issues without addressing liver health leads to more problems down the line. You'll learn how CIRS impacts mitochondria and hormone production, why the liver is crucial for hormone detoxification, and how sugar, insulin resistance, and gallbladder dysfunction tie into it all. They also break down why traditional lab ranges often miss liver stress, why cholesterol is a key liver marker, and how healing your liver is foundational for restoring energy, brain function, fertility, and overall vitality.Helpful LinksTake the Root Cause Quiz to uncover hidden imbalances.Explore the Liver Reset Program to deeply support liver health.Free Detox Class: https://www.mygutsyhealth.com/detoxKey TakeawaysHormones are a symphony; imbalance creates dysfunction.True healing order: mindset → mitochondria → gut → liver → hormones. The liver is essential for detoxifying and converting hormones.CIRS severely disrupts mitochondrial energy and hormone balance.Signs of liver dysfunction: fatigue, mood swings, skin issues, heavy periods, brain fog.Proper nutrient absorption is critical for liver and hormone health.Cholesterol (made in the liver) is the backbone for hormone production.High LDL and insulin resistance often signal liver distress.High fructose consumption (especially from processed foods) damages liver function.Gallbladder health is critical for fat digestion and hormonal support.Post-gallbladder removal: ox bile supplementation is important.Healing liver and gut health leads to natural hormone balance — without relying solely on bioidentical hormones.Optimal lab ranges (not just "normal") are key for assessing liver and hormone health.Episode TitlesThe Hormonal Symphony: Finding BalanceHealing Order: Mindset to Liver HealthLiver's Role in Hormonal HarmonyCholesterol: The Hormone PrecursorCIRS: The Hidden Factor in Hormone HealthChapters00:00 — The Symphony of Hormones03:01 — Understanding the Order of Healing06:10 — The Role of the Liver in Hormone Health09:02 — Cholesterol, Hormones, and Liver Function12:06 — CIRS and Its Impact on Hormones14:56 — Symptoms of Liver and Hormone Dysfunction17:57 — The Importance of Balance in Hormone Treatment23:08 — Understanding Liver Enzymes and GGT26:04 — The Role of Insulin and Cholesterol in Liver Health30:48 — The Impact of Sugar and Fructose on Liver Function35:10 — Recognizing Liver Stress and Functionality37:39 — Gallbladder Health and Its Importance46:01 — Balancing Hormones for Optimal HealthLove what you're hearing? If you enjoyed this episode of the Gutsy Health Podcast, please take a moment to rate and review the show! In this episode, I'm diving into the emotion of anger, especially as it shows up during the season of spring. With its dynamic energy and movement, spring tends to stir up emotions, and many of us may find ourselves feeling a little more rage-y than usual. Spring is tied to the liver, gallbladder, thyroid, and estrogen. These hormonal and organ systems are all involved in energy movement. I talk a lot about how we're not just physical beings—we're a complex mind-body-spirit system—and emotions like anger move through all these layers. And when we feel anger rising in spring, it mirrors what's happening in nature: everything is in motion, pushing upward, breaking through the soil, just like energy breaking through emotional or physical stagnation within us.Spring is the time of renewal, and our bodies are asking us to participate in that momentum. So whether it's lemon water, leafy greens, a shout in the woods, or a dance in your living room — it all counts. It all matters. Let it move.In this episode:[00:37] We are talking all about anger today on The Fully Nourished Podcast![01:19] What is your anger trying to tell you, and how do you deal with it?
