Nicole Becannon (@nicolebecannon) is a writer and stand up comic based in LA. Nicole is an incredibly talented joke writer who has been able to showcase her skills on several major television projects including Comedy Central's "Roast Battle". Under normal circumstances she can also be seen performing all over LA. In this episode we discuss her daily routine, bullies in school, how rude kids are, and trying to keep your head above ground when you suffer from depression. This was a great conversation, and Nicole is a super funny person. I loved talking to her and I hope you all follow her, and of course keep staying safe! Thank you for listening!
Jay Light (The Comedy Store, Comedy Central's Roast Battle) has had some challenges at work, but that doesn't stop him from trying. He's been yelled at by baseball dads, taught kids who almost died how to swim (sort of), and finally figured out how to boss people once he got a job as a door guy at The Comedy Store in LA. Nick and Chase stumble upon a job opportunity to make 1 million dollars in a year, and Jay thinks it too good of an offer to pass up. Also, the boys read one whole page from The Velveteen Rabbit. Hey nerds. This week, I am joined by the mighty Jay Light. Jay has been doing comedy for almost a decade. He is from just outside of Dallas, Texas. Jay moved to LA from North Carolina in 2011. He landed a job with Flappers in Burbank, where he worked in the box office. Jay moved from Flappers to The Comedy Store in Hollywood as a door guy after a couple successful appearances on Potluck. Since those early days, Jay has achieved quite a lot. He should be very proud and probably is, but he comes across as genuinely humble, friendly, and straight up kind. Jay has appeared on Comedy Central's Roast Battle and Not Safe with Nikki Glaser. He has also been on HBO's Project Greenlight. Jay even opened for Dave Chappelle. But we don't waste time talking about any of that...we talk about his early days, a bit of the struggle and move quickly into his religious background. Jay has been on quite the spiritual journey. He grew up in a conservative Presbyterian household. Jay left the faith he grew up with and has since turned back to believing in a higher power after going through AA. Really, Jay is about being a good person by being true to what he feels is right and positive. He's fantastic. Find him online at www.jaylightcomedy.com. Follow him on the Gram at @dietjay.
