Coach Keith Drysdale is founder of Count the Bucket Basketball youth development basketball training and mentorship. Count The Buckets' mission statement is to pave a gateway of opportunities to grow on and off the court. As a walk on D2 shooting guard at LIU CW Post, Keith was able to master the basics from a phenomenal coaching staff led by Tom Galeazzi. It led to a two year pro career with the Westchester Phantoms. Coached by former WNBA guard for the New York Liberty, Teresa Weatherspoon. In his own words: Coach Keith Drysdale, founder of Count the Bucket Basketball Youth Development Program and shooting school was established in the fall of 2016. Just a kid from the Bronx that fell in love with the game of basketball at the age of 7. One day the TV was on and saw something that had energy, and before you know it something drew my attention. It was the sound of the net when it went through the basket. I just know it looked so pretty going through the hoop that I wanted to go to the basketball court and make that same sound every time. I attended Grace Dodge High School, a small school in the Bronx. I made the team my junior and senior year, averaging 21 and 24 points per game. I earned a two year degree in Micro Computer Applications at Sullivan County Community College and only played one year. Then I enrolled at Long Island University at CW Post, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Management and Technology. I also played for the CW Post Men's Basketball Team. I then went on to play basketball professionally under former WNBA coach Teresa Weatherspoon for the Westchester Phantoms from 2007-2009. Basketball is more than a sport to me, it's a community of a team that have different skills and passion for the game that build a team of opportunity's that can take you across the globe. In 2019 Coach Keith earned a Youth Development Certified USA Basketball Gold Coach License, "The USA Basketball Gold Coach License enhances the previous NCAA program, that provides more value to coaches and event operators.” The USA Basketball Gold Coach License is a program that provides basketball education and training to coaches while ensuring the safety of young people in the sportCoach Keith, specializes in increasing your shooting percentage significantly, which start out with footwork and balance. My program will accelerate your skillset as a better player guaranteed. Most importantly, to build young athletes and prep them with taking accountability on the court, and off the court as well.Count the bucket is all about preparing you for the next level. Either you are starting from scratch as a basketball player, or you are preparing H.S, College, and the Pros. Count the bucket also creates events where educated speakers come to spread their knowledge of resources that will help students with a clearer vision towards their education goals. Fresh from CMA Fest and still on tour, Old Dominion chopped it up with Scotty Kay on US 99 to talk about their upcoming tour, their process of selecting music as a group, and even had time for a fun game of 'Wrong Lyrics Only.' As the No Bad Vibes Tour continues, the group talked about how they refuse to let any concertgoers with bad vibes ruin the show. "We've definitely had to stop a show. It's important to us because when something like that happens, it affects a lot of people... Everyone's paid money to see the show so we definitely don't want the hundred people around the problem to miss a couple songs or whatever because of one jerk," they agreed. The group also revealed that their fans hold a lot of weight in the decisions they make on what songs are played on tour: "There are big portions of the show that are dictated by the fans," they say. However, when it comes to choosing to create songs as a group, they shared sometimes it just comes down to a raised-hand vote, or maybe "one person saying, 'I really really care about this song," they admit. Adding that even choosing which singles get released first sometimes is a struggle. Listen to the full interview above for more -- and for a good laugh while they play 'Wrong Lyrics Only." Karen interviews bass trombonist, Kyle Moore. They dive into his professional and personal music career. This 30-minute episode is carried by laughter which shows their easy-going friendship. From childhood to college, and beyond- you won't want to miss this episode!Moore grew up near Jackson Mississippi and began his musical journey at just six. Starting with the piano, he took lessons with a strict instructor that would not let anything slide. This was great for him! Then, fast forward to middle school he was introduced to the school band. “A french what?” claimed Moore as he decided to focus on the Trombone. Being pushed to learn and grow further with music, Moore decides to take his advisor's advice and started seeking out music opportunities outside of his school. Trombone days became a necessity and he and his father started traveling to attend symphony shows. It was not long before the college visit began when he decides to commit to Southern Mississippi University. Involved in various programs and groups at college, Moore was exposed to different aspects of the music industry. He realized there were far more jobs in the business that play at bars until 2 am and becoming a personal piano (various instruments), instructor. He then fell in love with the idea of applied professors as he claimed, “This job is unique, unlike any other career I have seen!” It seems to be a very important time in a musician's career. They are in need of some form of assistance, whether that be for inspiration, dedication, or just personal growth. Karen claims she would have no questions when assuming Kyle was an extravert- surprisingly, this is not the case! Moore has long drafted his skill to become what he calls an “extroverted introvert”. While it was not easy by any means, years and years of practice and experience in social settings has made him out to be a personable individual. While Kyle Moore continues to grow his professional musical career, he also has a wide pallet of interest. An avid yogi, coffee lover, and great conversationalist are all aspects of Moore's life that tie into his love of trying new things. “Just go for it!”
