This week Zach is joined Michael Bailey from From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast to discuss the two hundred tenth episode of Smallville, “Masquerade." They talk Clark putting on the glasses and starting to establish a true secret identity, what that means for this version of the character, the Smallville's (not very faithful) interpretation of Desaad, and the uninspired Date Night A-plot. From Crisis to Crisis - The Married Years (A Superman and Lois Podcast)

Welcome to the two hundredth and sixty-ninth episode of  From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast!  Actually…that's not true anymore. Welcome to the two hundredth and sixty-ninth episode of From Crisis to Crisis – The Married Years: A Superman and Lois Podcast! That's right. Now that Mike and Jeff have reached the actual, factual wedding (and now that the official feed for the show is changing) they felt that a change in title was in order. The show hasn't really changed. In fact, the numbering is the same, but something had to be done to mark that this momentous occasion has happened. This podcast still has a simple premise; examine just about every Superman comic published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 to Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006 in an informative and hopefully entertaining format. This is it, folks! Finally…Lois and Clark get hitched! Well, not right away. First Mike and Jeff have to talk about Superman #118, which is the issue right before the wedding. Lois Lane is in on the trail of a drug dealer and meets someone that takes her on a quest that leads her to realize that maybe she still has feelings for Clark. Meanwhile, Superman still doesn't have any powers and does some tests to see why that is. During the test Superman gets a pep talk from Wonder Woman. Then, in Superman: The Wedding Album #1, the very first Triangle Era Special, Lois and Clark reunite and after a tense conversation the engagement is back on and it's all about planning the ceremony. It's an all-star effort on the creative side and the boys cover the bachelor party, the bridal dinner, Lois picking out her dress, the search for a new apartment, the rehearsal dinner, Sam Lane acting like a jerk, and then…FINALLY…the wedding ceremony itself. After that, Mike and Jeff discuss the third episode of season four of Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman titled Swear to God, This Time We're Not Kidding. It's the television wedding of Lois and Clark and the coverage of this one is much more positive than the last episodes of Lois and Clark. The boys even go easy on the “villain” of the episode. The From Crisis to Crisis love theme is by Lucian Desar. Other music in this episode includes Wagner Bridal Chorus Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com, Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 License), and Wedding Music and Wedding Romantic, both by Paul Yudin via Pixabay. Plus…other music. You can subscribe or listen to the show in a variety of ways. From Crisis to Crisis - The Married Years (A Superman and Lois Podcast)

Welcome to the two hundredth and sixty-eighth episode of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast!  This podcast has a simple premise; examine just about every Superman comic published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 to Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006 in an informative and hopefully entertaining format. This time out Mike and Jeff look at the Superman related books that came out with a November 1996 cover date that weren't part of the Final Night event. Those books include Superman: The Man of Steel Annual #5, Superboy and the Ravers #3, Showcase '96 #10, Steel #32, and Justice League: A Midsummers Nightmare #3. After that they look at the first seven (or five, depending on how you want to look at it) episodes of Superman: The Animated Series, which premiered in September of 1996. Episodes discussed are The Last Son of Krypton Parts 1 thru 3, Fun and Games, A Little Piece of Home, Feeding Time, and The Way of All Flesh. For grins, they end their animated talk by chatting about the first issue of the tie-in comics Superman Adventures. Finally, they discuss Lord of the Flys and Battleground Earth, which are the first two episodes of Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman Season 4. Mike would like to take this opportunity to apologize to those listeners that like or love the two episodes of Lois and Clark discussed in this episode. He did not like them and he was not shy about expressing this opinion. From Crisis to Crisis - The Married Years (A Superman and Lois Podcast)

Welcome to the two hundredth and sixty-seventh episode of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast!  This podcast has a simple premise; examine just about every Superman comic published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 to Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006 in an informative and hopefully entertaining format. This time out Mike and Jeff finally...FINALLY get to sit down with former Superman editor and architect of the Triangle Era of Superman Mike Carlin and talk with him about his time with the Man of Steel. The boys talk with Mike about how he got into Superman, his early days working for Marvel, how he came to edit the Superman titles, how the Triangle method of storytelling came about, the Death and Return of Superman and so much more. Mike was very generous with his time and both Mike (the host Mike that is) and Jeff appreciate that he took the time to speak with them. Plus! Stick around at the end of the episode for an important announcement regarding the future of From Crisis to Crisis! The From Crisis to Crisis theme is by Lucian Desar. Final Night concludes! And the Sun Eater causes the sun to go nova, and everyone dies. End of show. Just kidding! The road to the end of Final Night begins with Mike and Jeff looking at Superman: The Man of Steel #62, which not only focuses on Superman helping the brave workers at the Metropolis power station get said station back on line after the roof collapses but also shows Professor Hamilton viewing the holograms of Jor-El trying to save the population of Krypton during the planet's final days. There's also a sub-plot of Perry and his family heading to the Daily Planet and putting out the next edition despite the power being out and the world potentially coming to an end. Then the boys look at Flash #119, Hitman #8, and Legion of Super-Heroes #86, because those issues seem to take place before the final issue of the main series. Then the rubber meets the road in Final Night #4, where Superman makes the decision to fly the ship that's going to take the thingy to stop the Sun Eater. He doesn't get the chance when Ferro Lad kind of, sort of steals the ship but even his attempts at self-sacrifice fall through when Hal Jordan decides that he is going to be the one to save the day. Finally, the boys chat about the final three crossover issues, which come in the form of Robin #35, Takion #6, and Spectre #47. (Continuing the march towards the wedding, here is a re-upload of an episode of FCTC's coverage of Final Night! Enjoy!) Welcome to the two hundredth and sixty-fifth episode of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast!  This podcast has a simple premise; examine just about every Superman comic published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 to Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006 in an informative and hopefully entertaining format. Final Night continues! This time out Mike and Jeff continue their coverage of Final Night by looking at the main books and crossovers that came out during Week Three! First up is Action Comics #727, which sees Superman doing a bit of a retro thing by jumping instead of flying. He's not doing it to be cool or old school, though. Nope. His powers continue to fade away as the sun continues to be consumed by the Sun Eater. Bad guys use the chaos to steal several Special Crimes Unit battle suits, which Superman has to deal with as an unnamed man has to make his way through a snow covered Metropolis and learns about the good and bad of humanity. Mike also gives a quick history lesson in the middle of the notes where he probably gets something wrong. Then, in Final Night #3, things go from bad to apocalyptic. Ted Knight, the Golden Age Starman, does some figuring and realizes that the diameter of the sun is off. It turns out that Sun Eater's feeding cycle involves causing the star it is eating to go nova, which is great for the Sun Eater, because it propels it to the next star, but is kind of bad for all life in the system the sun provides light for. Finally, the boys look at the other crossover issues which include Final Night Parallax Emerald Night #1, Superboy #33, Aquaman #26, and Detective Comics #703! From Crisis to Crisis - The Married Years (A Superman and Lois Podcast)

Welcome to the two hundredth and sixty-fourth episode of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast!  This podcast has a simple premise; examine just about every Superman comic published between Man of Steel #1 in 1986 to Adventures of Superman #649 in 2006 in an informative and hopefully entertaining format. Final Night continues! This time out Mike and Jeff continue their coverage of Final Night by looking at the main books and crossovers that came out during Week Two! First up is Adventures of Superman #540, which introduces the Post Zero Hour version of Ferro! We find out his tragic backstory, which involves his famous mother not wanting to admit that she had kids because Andrew and his brother had facial deformities, which makes her a fantastic human being in that “not at all” kind of way. We also get more of Lori Lemaris, who becomes a theater critic for the Daily Planet, and Perry shows up at the Planet despite looking half past dead. Then, in Final Night #2, things go from bad to really bad as the heat from the sun dissipates and humanity starts freaking the freak out. Lex Luthor arrives to help and is just a giant jerk to just about everyone. But that's Lex for you. And since Final Night is a disaster film type story you do need the one scientist that is egotistical and just rubs everyone else the wrong way. The rest of the issue is the heroes running around and dealing with the natural consequences of the sun going, though sometimes it's dealing with things like Vandal Savage wanting to steal the Mona Lisa. Like last time, the boys look at the other Final Night crossover issues, which include Supergirl #3, Batman #536, and Green Arrow #114! Final Night begins! This time out Mike and Jeff kick off their coverage of Final Night by starting with an issue that bears the Final Night trade dress but has very little to do with the event. Superman #116 features Superman and Professor Hamilton heading to the Fortress to deal with the rapidly failing bottled city but trouble strikes when the Fortress defenses fail to recognize Superman as Kryptonian. Meanwhile, Lori Lemaris is confronted by WGBS and deals with it by jumping off the pier. Oh, and at the end Hamilton and Superman notice that Final Night has started. Then the boys cover the Final Night preview (which was originally a black and white freebie given out at comic shops) before diving into Final Night #1. An alien known as Dusk lands on Earth and is met by Superman, the SCU, and the time lost Legion of Super-Heroes. She warns them that a cosmic entity known as the Sun Eater will soon arrive in their solar system to…well, eat the sun…it's right there in the name…and just like that it arrives. The heroes band together to try and stop it but their efforts fail, causing the Sun Eater to latch on to the sun and temperatures on Earth to plummet. As the sky turns dark, Lex Luthor believes it is time to return to Metropolis. After that, Mike and Jeff briefly discuss Power of Shazam #20, Green Lantern #80, and Sovereign Seven #16. In this week's ball-rambling episode, Magnus totally goofs up. Technically this week's subject matter was supposed to be X-Men- Age of Apocalypse. But that ended up crashing down around your leader's ears for various reasons. For that reason, Michael Bailey, host and founder of Views from the Longbox and co-host and co-founder of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast, volunteered his services for another Shoot the Sh** show. In other words, when all is said and done, Bailey will have guest starred on exactly half of this cycle's six episodes. And believe it or not, this was entirely unplanned. Bailey and Magnus talk at great length about fandom, Smallville, the state of Superman in big screen live action and life in general. For those determined to ruin the Internet for everyone else by perpetuating click-bait on Facebook, "You won't believe what Magnus compares comic book fandom to!" Due to the avalanche of ass-kickery, unfortunately there was just no time for listener feedback this week. Something will need to be done about the backlog of feedback. But don't worry, loyal subjects, your leader has a few ideas. But in the meantime, don't let the lack of feedback this time get you down! You can still offer your feeble effort at tribute! You humble serfs are always welcome to kiss your benevolent leader's ring. Corrupt DiManzocorp interns are ready, willing, able and eager to accept your bribe to present your meager missives to your wise emperor. The email address to use is trentusmagnus@gmail.com as the other seems to be having technical problems. In an another sublime act of truly unprecedented charity, your emperor permits you lowly rabble to suggest topics for a future episode. Thus, petitions may be sent to trentusmagnus@gmail.com for DiManzocorp interns to review, whereupon your leader might consider thinking about the possibility of potentially discussing whatever you have in mind some day. And that's a promise!

Plus we also conclude the "While Rome Burned" storyline over in Green Lantern #136. Kyle has had enough of Alex Nero's $#!T, so he goes on the offensive and takes the baddie down...with a VCR tape. Hello everbody...oh, wait, that's Andy and Micheal's bit. Anyhoo, welcome back to another episode of Just One of the Guys, the best Green Lantern podcast on the Two True Freaks Internet Radio Network. This week you're in for an extra special treat. This time out we're going to be covering not one, not two, but THREE great comics in the 90's era, namely the "Three of a Kind" storyline that ran through Green Lantern 96, Green Arrow 130, and The Flash 135. We get super heroes on vacation, super villains (well, Hair Metal Sonar, Hatchet, and Heat Wave, so C-List super villains) with an evil plan (well, taking Doctor Polaris to the North Pole in hopes it will amp up his powers and make him their BFF), tales of sex with ghosts, courtroom drama, and a story written by GRANT MORRISON AND MARK MILLAR!!! And surprisingly the whole "ghost sex" thing doesn't occur in the Morrison/Millar book. It's three amazing tales from a bygone era where DC could mix drama with fun, and to help me along on this journey, I'm joined by podcasting luminaries Michael Bailey (From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast, Views From the Longbox, and many others) and Dave Walker (Flash Legacies and Who True Freaks) who lend their insight and talent to celebrate this incredibly fun story from the legacy era of DC Comics. So if you've got to know how Conner "hit that" with a possible ghost, I suggest you grab your mp3 player of choice, download the show, and get to listening!Feedback for this show can be sent to: justoneoftheguyspodcast@gmail.comJust One Of The Guys is a proud member of the Two True Freaks! Salutations, lovely listeners and welcome to another very Green episode of Just One of the Guys. Not green in the fact that the podcast was produced with 75% recycled material, but green in the fact that we are wrapping up the Hard Traveling Heroes: The Next Generation storyline in Green Lantern #77 and Green Arrow #111. This time out Kyle finds his "father", Conner chats with dirty hippies, we see a Proto-Lara Croft in the character of Crackshot, and Kyle's "father" plots to bring America back to a better time through use of a "communications satellite"...that is nuclear powered...and has particle beam weaponry on it. Heaven forbid Fox or MSNBC get this idea to "communicate" with the masses. Plus we get some great action from Ron Marz and Chuck Dixon, two writers who did the Nineties proud. Add to that the return of Michael Bailey (Views From the Longbox, From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast, and PADSmash: An Incredible Hulk Podcast) to add lively commentary (and marvel at how smoking hot Crackshot is), and you've got a show you don't want to miss. Greetings podcast listeners, and welcome back to another episode of Just One of the Guys, a Green Lantern podcast. A show that now has significantly less Guy Gardner in it (*SNIFF*). But that doesn't mean I'm only going to be covering one book this time, oh no. In fact, today's story involves Kyle Rayner (Green Lantern) teaming up with Conner Hawke (Green Arrow) in an adventure that mirrors the classic O'Neil/Adams run from the 70's. In the story, Kyle and Conner save a "working girl", make some moves on a small town waitress, and get into some fisticuffs with the local constabulary, all the while searching for Kyle's long lost father, who might just be living in the town the original GL/GA went to in that run. It's all cyclical, my friends. And to aid me in this endeavour, I've brought along podcasting luminary Michael Bailey, host of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast, Views From the Longbox, and PADSmash, an Incredible Hulk Podcast, to add to the commentary. We talk about similarities and differences between the run, how smoking hot Paul Pelletier draws his women, and how the town in the second issue really can't exist. Chalk it up to Zero Hour, that's what I always do. So unless you want your sexual orientation awkwardly questioned, I suggest you grab your mp3player of choice, download the show, and get to listening!Feedback for this show can be sent to: justoneoftheguyspodcast@gmail.comJust One Of The Guys is a proud member of the Two True Freaks! It all changes here! And by that, I mean Green Lantern #50. Hal has finally turned a corner in his dealings with the loss of Coast City, and nothing is going to stop him. Not his friend Kilowog, not his enemy Sinestro, not even the Guardians of the Universe (although they are so ineffectual they couldn't stop a H.E.A.T. member from complaining about this issue). And over with Guy Gardner we get...THE NINETIES!!! Yes, in all it's over the top, big shoulderpadded, ridiculously armored, skimpy costumed glory. Plus, the thrilling reveal of just who the heck that Militia guy is! Prepare to be astounded, in a way that you probably won't be at all! In order to deal with the awesomeness/trauma of these issues, I've recruited not one, but two guest hosts to help me out with the show. First is Michael Bailey, host of From Crisis to Crisis: A Superman Podcast as well as a metric ton of other shows, and second is Thomas Deja, host of Better in the Dark. Both bring their insight, humor, and tolerance of THE NINETIES to the show, to make this a celebration of an epic time in the comic book medium. And we talk about Guy Gardner as well.
