In todays clip of our exclusive interview with Los Angeles graffiti legend BUTCHER AAA (Triple A), he recounts his serendipitous encounter with rap pioneer Kurtis Blow. Their chance meeting led to an agreement to perform together at a hip-hop show, promising an electrifying fusion of music and live art. However, the night took an unexpected turn when the concert promoter refused to allow Butcher to paint on stage. In a bold move of solidarity, Kurtis Blow decided not to perform, leaving the packed venue in shock. The fallout from this decision reverberated far beyond the club's walls. Kurtis Blow took legal action against the Whisky a Go Go, ultimately suing the venue. In a surprising act of camaraderie and justice, Blow shared the profits of the settlement with Butcher, turning a moment of conflict into one of unexpected triumph and unity. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/richard-castro63/support

Like any other art form, rap music or hip-hop has a defined, ever-evolving legacy. There are names etched in the walls of the greats industry founders ranging from Curtis Blow to Grandmaster Flash, LL Cool J to Run DMC, the Beastie Boys, Will Smith, Doug E. Fresh, the Fat Boys and Queen Latifah. As the genre evolved, rap developed more of an edge, telling painful stories of street life from performers like N.W.A., Ice-T, Public Enemy, Tupac Shakur, and the Notorious B.I.G. Rappers Jay Z, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg took rap to new heights of popularity, giving hip-hop a seat at the mainstream table. And others like Lauryn Hill, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, Lil' Wayne, Eminem, Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj, Drake, DMX, J. Cole and others have kept rap going strong and made it a viable and highly profitable music style. But rap is incomplete without the group that coined the phrase “hip-hop” in their groundbreaking anthem “Rapper's Delight”—the Sugarhill Gang. Indeed, any conversation about rap—which in 2023, celebrated 50 years as an art form—is incomplete without the Sugarhill Gang. Formed in 1979, it started outside an Englewood, New Jersey, pizza shop when singer and music executive Sylvia Robinson asked Henry “Big Bank Hank” Jackson—who would croon as he made pizza inside—to sing for she and her husband Joe in their car parked outside. Jackson was ultimately joined by Guy "Master Gee" O'Brien and the two of them went to the Robinson home along with Michael "Wonder Mike" Wright. The three young me thought they were auditioning against one another, but in the end, were assembled into a music act that would go on to become one of the first rap groups ever—the Sugarhill Gang—holding a legendary place in popular music history. We sit down with the Sugarhill Gang including Master Gee, Wonder Mike, Hendogg and DJ T-Dynasty for the latest episode of the Load Out Music Podcast.

MONEY - MAN CED LO Also Known as Lecdric Nelson an independent artist from Polk County, Florida. My life started in Bartow, FL on June 15, 1979 yet was raised in Lake Hamilton, FL making me a Florida native. At the age of 16 is when I started to learn the ways of how to survive in what we call the street life and rapping became an outlet to allow me to tell my story. After some time of running the streets and rapping my life started to get tangled into selling drugs, smoking weed, and hanging around the wrong crowds that led to me dropping out of high school in the 10th grade. At the age of 18 is when my issues with law enforcement all started and leading me down 18 years of experiences with the judicial system. At the age of 34 on May 4th, 2015 is when I was released from prison this is when I started to take the music game serious and made this my new way of life. Spending time in prison allowed me to set my mind on a mission that I have been on since being released to make a name for myself in the rap industry. I plan on doing this by bringing real music back as music has changed dramatically to fabrication and storytelling. Music of my generation inspired others to grow. Now it all about glorifying what we would call trials and tribulations in this life. My biggest music influences are artists like Tupac, Notorious Big, Scarface, Ghetto Boys, Ice T, Spice 1, Curtis Blow, Big Daddy Cane, and MC Lyte. Most of all my music is my story from what I have experienced to what I felt while living on this earth. Personally, I am a god-fearing man and a firm believer of God without him I am nothing. I wouldn’t consider myself as a religious person, yet I know God is in me. I am known to lead not to become a follower. This is what allows me to set trends and become the trend setter of my generation with my own style or swag. I am different from the rest I am him the real Money-Man Ced Mr. Polk County.
