Deify is a verb that means to glorify or worship. The Latin word deus (DAY oos) means ‘god’ and the literal translation of our word of the day is ‘to make a god.’ But the word may be used in a lighter context to simply mean ‘elevate as if a god.’ The people of this town are enormous baseball fans. The day I hit three home runs, everyone wanted to deify me.

He joined his first band when he was only 10 years old, and has been performing around the greater pacific northwest ever since. In high school he performed in his school’s symphonic wind ensemble and jazz band (for which he was first chair) – and even won “best soloist” at the East Shore WMEA Jazz Festival in 2015 for his performance of ‘Foom, Foom, Foom’. His band is currently gearing up to release its debut studio album and embark on its first ever tour this summer.
