Whether God chooses to deliver us from trouble or difficulty or if gives us his strength to endure what we are going through, he always does everything well in his perfect love and care for us. This sermon based on Mark 7:31-37 was preached on September 8, 2024, for a sermon series called "Before You Give Up."
Ben Green | Mark 7.24-37 Jesus left that place and went to the vicinity of Tyre. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it; yet he could not keep his presence secret. In fact, as soon as she heard about him, a woman whose little daughter was possessed by an impure spirit came and fell at his feet. The woman was a Greek, born in Syrian Phoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter. ‘First let the children eat all they want,' he told her, ‘for it is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to the dogs.' ‘Lord,' she replied, ‘even the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs.' Then he told her, ‘For such a reply, you may go; the demon has left your daughter.' She went home and found her child lying on the bed, and the demon gone. Looking for some rest in Tyre, Jesus is found by a woman with a demon-possessed daughter, and then is begged to heal a man who is deaf and mute. He helped them - can we trust him to do the same today?

Episode SummaryBeing “well-rounded” is a bit of a curse.I have been told countless times throughout my life that I am “well-rounded”, which sounds like a compliment – but it backfires if you're not prepared for what it really means.Success does not usually come from doing many things well.Instead, most success originates from expertise, focus, and forgetting all about balance (at least as most people would describe it).In this week's episode of The 5 AM Miracle Podcast I discuss unbalanced success and how you can leverage it to your advantage. Teaching from Sunday AM service by Pastor Jeff Miles
Join us as we continue our current series, Grace Changes Everything. This week Pastor Neli teaches us how we should love well, serve well, and how to finish well before we start something new. What has God called you to finish? I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf, that I may be delivered from the unbelievers in Judea, and that my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints, so that by God's will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company. May the God of peace be with you all. Amen. - Romans 15:30-33 (ESV)

We often discuss the impossible standard of God's Law. As human beings conceived in sin, we are unable to perfectly obey God's Law. It's that simple. And it's this simple reality that makes the Gospel so sweet! This week, we'll see that Jesus is able to be the Savior we need because of his ability to perfectly obey God's Law! Jesus has done everything well!

Proverbs 28:4, 8, 10, 12. Let thrive to manage what we have been given well. Don't oppress the poor by charging them more for the Lord sees everything you do. Let's not accept bribes or anything that only satisfies our flesh and our temporary temple or bodies. It's great to do what is right every time because it brings freedom to your heart, mind, and body. Oppressing the poor and others will only bring you temporary riches but long-haul well-being. Let's honor the Lord with what we do and how we do it.
Ministry burnout is a real thing, and one of the causes is pastors who are trying to do too many things themselves. The pressure to maintain the accepted ministry model is huge, and many times this burden falls to the pastor. In this episode, I want to give you an out. You don't have to do everything. What's more...you can't do everything and do it well. The good news is, you don't have to. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thispoorpastor/support
This week! IT'S EPISODE #150!! That's so many episodes! In celebration, Tim had the [potentially terrible] idea of covering *at least* 150 topics in this week's episode! Is that way too much?! Well, then. Let's all find out together, shall we? There were way too many things to list this week (we only get so many characters), but you're safe from spoilers! (We think. If we remember correctly. It was a lot to keep up with.

Dr Gowen completed his Medical school and Residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics from UAMS. He takes keen interest in mentoring and education of medical students and residents. He has also created a number of lecture series to help guide medical students and interns. Dr Gowen's commitment to teaching and mentoring of students has been recognized by a number of awards for teaching - including the recently awarded UAMS Gold Sash Teaching Award. Dr. Nicholas Gowen's father used to tell him: Anything you do, do it well (Or don't do it at all). Today, Dr. Gowen teaches us how we can put our very best into everything we do. Even though we're facing long nights and packed schedules, there is no use in taking shortcuts if it sacrifices value in our lives—or a patient's life. And in everything we do, it's important to self-reflect on how our time is being used. We should learn to ask ourselves the questions: Is this the best use of my time? And does it align with my goals and values? Pearls of Wisdom: 1. Anything you do, do it well (or don't do it at all). And when you do it, self-reflect: Is this the best use of your time? Does it match up with your short-term or long-term goals? 2. In trying to establish a good mentoring relationship, pick up on signs and cues that signal a mentor's approachability. Find something you admire about that mentor, and take the next courageous step to let them know. 3. Be humble: Develop the attitude of learning new things now matter how brilliant you already are. Be charitable and generous in all of your interactions: Because every single interaction is a new opportunity to learn and grow.
Some have called it "the Protestant work ethic!" But it isn't, really. It is simply the application of several phrases found in Scripture which can be paraphrased, "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right; so give it your best effort!"

Cue the music and lift your voices in song with us, because it's the mo-st won-der-ful time ... of the year: it's time to get back on the Guy N. Smith train with an absolute banger entitled Killer Crabs. You know how last time we took on a Smith-crab joint, we thought "Wow, this one has EVERYTHING"? Well, it turns out that that one had a lot less than this one, because this one has everything. Everything is what this one has, at least if by the word "everything" you understand "just a whole LOT of sex and a briefcase-full-of-cash ménage à trois subplot that just screams "late '70s made-for-TV movie" and, of course, extremely invulnerable giant crabs eviscerating humans all over the beach. Is there any defense against this scuttling menace? Have the crabs developed military tactics? Will any of our major characters have enough sex to say "You know what, that's about enough sex I've had right there"? Friends, allies against the crabs, secret lovers, there's only one viable path to an answer, and that path runs straight through the pages of ... Killer Crabs. Up Guy N.
