Like socks. underwear and an ugly sweater from a relative you never see, you didn't ask for it but you're getting it anyway. The biggest gathering of guests on a single episode of TCBCast ever convene for the strangest of holiday events: Clambake. We know exactly what you're thinking, but it turns out there's SO MUCH MORE we didn't talk about last year, there's less overlap than you might expect in terms of things to learn about 1967's "Clambake." We even managed to squeeze a Song of the Week in mid-show for "A House That Has Everything," digging into its roots as Mexican melody "Te Quiero Dijiste" and its other English adaptation "Magic is the Moonlight." And you know, even these end-of-year holidays aren't often so much about the holiday itself - it's the coming together with the people you care about. Speaking of which, here's who all makes an appearance: Gurdip, Justin, and Bec Rabia and Felix from Suddenly: A Frank Sinatra Podcast John Michael Heath from EAP Society David "Ghosty" Wills from We Say Yeah: A Cliff Richard Fan Podcast And special guests Olivia Murphy-Rogers, Darin Evans and Garrett Cash. After David T. Cole died, then came back to life as befitting the Easter weekend, Jeff Alexander sat down with the gang to discuss the second season of Daredevil, Joe's issues with Jon Bernthal, why a character based IN NEW YORK CITY can't just be Irish already, and whether any of us will be back for S3. After Liv's candy high took us through Face Off and Buntsy thumbs-upped the original Helter Skelter TV movie, we checked in with Married At First Sight: The First Year, Untucked, the Flash/Supergirl crossover, and The Real O'Neals. The Tick was a winner, the world's first supermodel was a loser, and Tom & Dick & Harry & Jane & Kate & Mary inspired a hotly-contested Game Time -- or, as Sarah's cold would have it, "Gabe Tibe." (Sorry about that, guys.) Did Jeff's mid-Office submission "win" admission to the Nonac? Does Foggy need a haircut? The answers to all these questions, plus something about a bear attack, in an all-new extra-crunchy Extra Hot Great. TOPICS Lead Topic:

Amos 'n' Andy was a situation comedy popular in the United States from the 1920s through the 1950s. The show began as one of the first radio comedy serials, written and voiced by Freeman Gosden and Charles Correll and originating from station WMAQ in Chicago, Illinois. After the series was first broadcast in 1928, it grew in popularity and became a huge influence on the radio serials that followed. Amos 'n' Andy creators Gosden and Correll were white actors familiar with minstrel traditions. They met in Durham, North Carolina in 1920, and by the fall of 1925, they were performing nightly song-and-patter routines on the Chicago Tribune's station WGN. Since the Tribune syndicated Sidney Smith's popular comic strip The Gumps, which had successfully introduced the concept of daily continuity, WGN executive Ben McCanna thought the notion of a serialized drama could also work on radio. He suggested to Gosden and Correll that they adapt The Gumps to radio. They instead proposed a series about "a couple of colored characters" and borrowed certain elements of The Gumps. Their new series, Sam 'n' Henry, began January 12, 1926, fascinating radio listeners throughout the Midwest. That series became popular enough that in late 1927 Gosden and Correll requested that it be distributed to other stations on phonograph records in a "chainless chain" concept that would have been the first use of radio syndication as we know it today. When WGN rejected the idea, Gosden and Correll quit the show and the station that December. Contractually, their characters belonged to WGN, so when Gosden and Correll left WGN, they performed in personal appearances but could not use the character names from the radio show.THIS EPISODE:April 4, 1954.
