We've been on a run of serious films, so it was time to mix in a Western comedy. At least, that's what this movie is supposed to be, but this is a comedy without a whole lot of jokes. We have some diverging opinions on this one, mostly coming down to the script, because this should be a much better movie than it is. But you can bet we both agree that James Garner is one of the most charming cutie-pies ever. Make sure to order the bars for the jail while we watch Support Your Local Sheriff! on Have a Good Movie! CONTENT WARNING: Discussion of sex work, sexual assault. Spaghetti westerns are their own unique style, their own flavor, and one of the key issues is the dialogue is almost always sloppy and cheesy. Yet Sergio Leone, a true master of filmmaking, took that to a different artistic height, and really made it perfect with this film. This film is impeccably shot, with spans of John Ford's favorite locations that would make the father of the genre salivate. The cast is top notch, with a truly evil villain made all the more bad by the fact that they got America's Dad to play him. The only thing missing is punchier dialogue, but when it comes to Leone, it's worth the eye rolls to wait for the next incredible shot. We know exactly what you're thinking, but it turns out there's SO MUCH MORE we didn't talk about last year, there's less overlap than you might expect in terms of things to learn about 1967's "Clambake." We even managed to squeeze a Song of the Week in mid-show for "A House That Has Everything," digging into its roots as Mexican melody "Te Quiero Dijiste" and its other English adaptation "Magic is the Moonlight." And you know, even these end-of-year holidays aren't often so much about the holiday itself - it's the coming together with the people you care about. After David T. Cole died, then came back to life as befitting the Easter weekend, Jeff Alexander sat down with the gang to discuss the second season of Daredevil, Joe's issues with Jon Bernthal, why a character based IN NEW YORK CITY can't just be Irish already, and whether any of us will be back for S3. After Liv's candy high took us through Face Off and Buntsy thumbs-upped the original Helter Skelter TV movie, we checked in with Married At First Sight: The First Year, Untucked, the Flash/Supergirl crossover, and The Real O'Neals. The Tick was a winner, the world's first supermodel was a loser, and Tom & Dick & Harry & Jane & Kate & Mary inspired a hotly-contested Game Time -- or, as Sarah's cold would have it, "Gabe Tibe." (Sorry about that, guys.) Did Jeff's mid-Office submission "win" admission to the Nonac? Does Foggy need a haircut? The answers to all these questions, plus something about a bear attack, in an all-new extra-crunchy Extra Hot Great. TOPICS Lead Topic:

Does CBS's new Supergirl soar or splat? Jeff Alexander, who'll be covering the show for Previously.TV all season, returns to the podcast to join us in a discussion about the pilot. Liv gives us her thoughts on the season's penultimate Face Off before the rest of us chew over the season's penultimate Project Greenlight. (TOO SOON!) The Blotter Presents takes us through the high points of The Lindbergh Kidnapping Case before Around The Dial stops at Arranged and Married At First Sight: The First Year; The Librarians; You're The Worst; and Residue. Jeff makes an intoxicating case for the induction of Drunk History's "Montgomery, AL" into The Canon, and then after naming the week's Winner and Loser, it's on to a Game Time that risks going tit...ulars up. Make sure all your green kryptonite's safely locked up and listen! GUESTS

Our Orphan Black and Daredevil correspondent, Jeff Alexander, returns to talk boy clones, beatings, and Buntsy's boneheaded D.B. Cooper theory. Liv submitted her final Face Off report of the season, and we all learned something about corporate synergy. Then we went Around The Dial with the Justified finale (approved), the Daredevil renewal (approved), Catfish's obviously imminent end (should be approved), and some TV Canadiana ("Meat!") before bending an elbow for Jeff's Canon submission, Cheers's "Simon Says." Galaxy Quest goes to TV, Baffleck's foot goes in his mouth, and Game Time gets a see-plus in an Extra Hot Great worth waiting for. GUESTS

As The Walking Dead wraps up its fifth season, regular Dead correspondent and designated pinch-hitter Jeff Alexander join us for a talk that ranges through the show, the comics, the spinoff, and which characters we could stand to see axed in Season 6! Liv gives the kid perspective on a kid-centered Face Off challenge. We go Around The Dial with stops at Going Clear, The Daily Show, Orphan Black, and Scandal, and The Good Wife. Dave presents the Magnum, P.I. episode "Paper War" for the Canon. After identifying the week's Winner and Loser, it's on to a very special, maybe never-to-be-repeated Game Time event! Jeff makes the case for The Walking Dead's "Seed" to be inducted into The Canon, and then after naming the week's Winner and Loser, we dig into a thrilling new Game Time from Trip Payne. Around The Dial brings discussion of The Good Wife, NBC's Rosemary's Baby miniseries, and the cancelled shows we'll miss the most, including the one about an undead entrepreneur. We consider the induction of Parks & Recreation's "Sister City" to The Canon, and then it's on to the week's Winner and Loser and a Game Time that's all about One-Season Wonders (except for the ones where it's no wonder they got canned).
