We're joined by Army Veteran, & veteran Fresno County paramedic Mario Torralva. Mario was enjoying the county fair with his wife and friends, when he began to feel ill. He rapidly got worse, & his wife called for help and had him transported (by his coworkers) to the nearest ER. Doctors assumed he had a stroke based on his symptoms, but all scans were negative. When Mario would improve and be close to being released home, he would suddenly become very ill again and was even transferred back to the ICU. Mario winds up staying in the hospital for 3 weeks, baffling teams of doctors as they try to find out what his actual illness was. He has to endure exploratory surgery attempts, a 2.5 hour MRI, a lumbar puncture, a Nasogastric tube insertion, & more. Mario describes all the emotion of the hospital stay & trying to figure out his own diagnosis as well. You wont believe what it winds up being, how they discover it, & how his surgery goes. On top of that, he finds out how much damage was done, and has even more complications post surgery.  Mario explains it all from the perspective of a veteran paramedic, & discusses his recovery, & how it changed the extent to which he listens to his body. The blowout was so severe that Luis had to have a donor bicep transplanted into his arm. He tells us the story of his journey from the streets of Northeast LA, trying (not always succesfully) to stay out of gangs, which led him to boxing, where he found success & a way off the streets, sort of. We learn about the world of pro boxing, bad promoters, getting fights, getting knocked out, fighting thru injuries, & all the people who show up to watch fights. Chaplain Tim H Mills and Assistant Chaplain Samuel R Griffin have designed this short 15 minute or less, devotional to encourage firefighters in our Department and firefighters everywhere. Barnum’s stunning building occupied a prominent corner on Lower Broadway at the corner of Ann Street from 1841 to 1865. Its massive size and impressive appearance was rivaled only by the wonders within. but on July 13, 1865 the American Museum burned to the ground in one of the most spectacular fires New York has ever seen.

Crystal rejoins the boys this week in a discussion about Hobbies. What are some of your hobbies? Do you use them to get your mind off of certain things, or simply because you enjoy doing them? Kevin describes his love for golf, and while it can be frustrating at times, it's a lifelong hobby of his. Sully agrees that golf is one of his as well, and he used to get frustrated, but quickly realized he wasn't the next Tiger Woods, so he learned to just enjoy it. Kevin says he uses golf as a way to improve over the years and that's what keeps him playing. He talks about how much hes improved and that keeps him coming back for more year after year. Crystal asks the boys if eating is a hobby, because that's what she likes to do. This leads the discussion into the crews favorite candy bars and more. What's your favorite candy bar?? Kevin's is Snickers, Sully's is Kit-Kat and Crystal said she doesn't discriminate... if there is a candy bar, she will eat it. They bring up how music and attending concerts could be considered a hobby. Like Kevin's infatuation with Taylor Swift, or as he now calls her, "Tay Tay". He says he would love to have her on the show sometime, so that if he ever went to her concert, she would recognize him and they would be instant BFF's.
