We're delighted to welcome back Secession Label to our Four Four Premiere series, this time the label hosts a 90's infused techno collaboration from up and comers, FORUM & York. The pair have whipped together a dynamic funky techno tool, channeling tribal and spiralling influences. Secession Records was founded in 2018 in Osijek, Croatia by longtime DJ and producer Volster, and it has since gone on to be home to both established and ground breaking techno artists, being the birth place of new and compelling techno cuts. Follwing on from some very strong 2022 releases coming from Tehotu and a various artists release with reputable names such as Marcal, A.Morgan, Paul Laurens, no.name, Irish based producer PageOne and more. The label now hosts FORUM & York who have been knocking out impressive releases as of late. FORUM recently released on TWR72's OOM Records which has been receiving heavy support from some of exciting techno DJ's. Jay York has been turning heads with some stand out DJ show's alongside Arthur Robert, Truncate and more. He's also had a string of self releases which have been going down a treat, as well a remix for Flits. In this episode, Nashville songwriter Jeremy Spillman tackles a new creative challenge: his first novel. In “The DeVine Devils,” Spillman spins a tale of two brothers, Audie and Shane DeVine. After the boys barely escape a massacre by the U.S. Army in which their father is killed, they swear vengeance and spend the next decade honing their skills in music and fighting. In addition to the book, Spillman also worked with Dean Dillon on an EP which brings the story to life through some amazing music. Following this, I've got two songs for you from the DeVine Devils EP—“Something Bad This Way Comes” and “Hard Times Come Again No More.” Follwing that, I've got a great song from the Brooklyn-based Typhoid Rosie, “Sailing On.” They have a show coming up in Boston on Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Jungle in Somerville with Fuzzy Bumble, Tysk Tysk Tysk, and Wild Allegations, 7pm, $6.

Hello Beastsiders!!  Today's episode is a grand return to our ongoing theme show series, THEMATIC For The People.  The theme here is music from the Street Fighter video game series by CAPCOM.  At the beginning of each set, you'll hear a remix of an SF composition---a lot of them covered in an interesting new musical style.  These fanmade remixes do great tribute to the originals, and take the works in fantastic new directions. Follwing the remix tunes are original Beastly tunes (linked by genre similarity in each set) to make a fun, organic blend of music.  Links for the artists are in the tracklist, and check out their wonderful work! Attention, Athens, Georgia!  The weekend of March 19-22 will mark the 2nd annual Sling Shot Festival. Sling Shot's spread is all over the downtown Classic City district, with many venues featuring music artists (such as Kishi Bashi and local favorites Elf Power), stand-up comedians (Doug Benson of "Super High Me" and "Last Comic Standing" fame, Jonah Ray--who's been behind the scene on The Andy Milonakis show and featured on The Sarah Silverman Program, and Atlanta's own Josh Harris), technology/new media showcases, and fantabulous exhibitions of art.   Of Beastly interest is the Saturday (3/21) event at New Earth Music Hall.  That evening will be the site of the touchdown of the nationwide Japan Nite 2014 tour, featuring a fresh crew of musicians! Headliners are the ever-entertaining Peelander-Z, and also providing awesome sounds are Jungles (of Bacteria Vacuum), Zargani$, Vampillia, and HAPPY.  You'll hear more about the JN show in this episode.  Check www.japan-nite.com for times and dates, and locations near you for the upcoming shows. You'll hear the Polite one talk fanboy, giving you the lowdown on 2 fine comic book shop in the Athens/Watkinsville areas (Bizarro Wuxtry and Mr. Comic Shop), and mention a great site to find comic book stores in your area. If you're a DC Comics/Justice League fan, pop open a side link for the fantastic and Lego-tastic fan production, "Justice League: Gods Among Us" by the marvelous OUTBACKPRIME PRODUCTIONS.  More on the project in this ep. Below is the tracklist for this episode, with links to the artists' sites/social media where highlighted.   Beasts will now be running an episode EVERY OTHER MONTH, and we thank you for keeping up with us. More interviews and videos will be up in the meantime. You're already here and listening, so we hope you enjoy the show!  Street Fighter = The title for great music and the importance of the quarter turn on your directional pad.  FIGHT!!!   ARTIST/SONG TITLE                                                                                 Kimengumi/tengal6_kimengumi_remix                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        INTRO                                                                                                                                    DJ Kariu/Guiles 20th anniversary Strange Sunset remix (Melodic Sunset)                                         RYU BLACK/Chun Li feat.
