In Matthew 20:17-34 we see that godly ambition is driven by love, seeking to fulfill God's purposes through sacrificial service.
Today we learn that Godly ambition is not about personal gain, but about living a life that honours God.
Scripture found in Ephesians 4:1-16
Psalm 116:1-11, Jeremiah 4:10-5:31, Philippians 3:1-4:1. 'Ambition has been defined as the ‘desire to succeed' There are ultimately only two controlling ambitions to which all others may be reduced: one is our own glory and the other is God's glory
Psalm 116:7-9, Jeremiah 5:14, Philippians 3:4-21. 'Ambition has been defined as the ‘desire to succeed' There are ultimately only two controlling ambitions to which all others may be reduced: one is our own glory and the other is God's glory
Psalm 116:1-9, Jeremiah 5:14, Philippians 3:4-21. 'Ambition has been defined as the ‘desire to succeed' There are ultimately only two controlling ambitions to which all others may be reduced: one is our own glory and the other is God's glory
What drives you? What makes you pursue a particular career or education? Our Ambitions drive us down particular paths before we ever really know what ambition is. In this message Pastor Fikre Prince shares from Colossians 3, that after we have begun a journey with Christ our ambitions and desires should be conformed to His ambitions and desires. And this Ambition will be a source of peace and not discouragement.Text: Colossians 3:1-17Big Idea: God's work changes our ambition. Key Question: How do we embrace our new ambition?1. Recognize our spiritual position. (vv. 1-4)2. Put off worldly ambition. (vv. 5-11)3. Put on godly ambition. (vv. 12-17)
Nehemiah (in Nehemiah 6) didn't allow the problems of his day to stop his desire to serve God.
Words of strong emotions are thrown around today like candy. Something that is likeable is “awesome”. A new job is “a perfect match”. Even our local weather station has a TOP TEN WEATHER day that they use about 1-2 x per month. One of these words is the word ambition. What does this word really mean, and how to we have Godly Ambition? Your most valuable resource is your time, and your time is what will constitute your life. By using the present time to make much of Christ, we set in motion the lasting future impact of a life lived to the glory of God. As British missionary C.T. Studd wrote, “Only one life, twill soon be past / Only what's done for Christ will last.” Listen as Pastor Brett exhorts us to pursue godly ambition.

Godly Ambition - Romans 12:1-2
While we have plenty of examples of ambitious people eager to succeed for all the wrong reasons, that shouldn't discourage you from being ambitious for godly motivations. Desiring to make your life count for God is as noble a motivator as possible. It's time to go the second mile in developing godly ambition.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqffL89L5EU Tarcea Renee's career in the music business started at age nine when she delved into writing lyrics and making beats on FL Studio 5. Being raised in North St. Louis City and the 90's era of Hip-Hop culture strongly influenced her music for 12 years. In 2010, Tarcea Renee yielded her life to Christ, which altered the course of her music career. "Although I became a Christian, I didn't feel right rushing to become a Christian rapper. Before that, I rapped about what I knew: the streets, money, drugs, and other life experiences, but I didn't know God. So, I felt a need to pause and get to know Him before attempting to rap about Him."By 2013, Tarcea Renee released her first solo album, garnering over 10k downloads. Following her 2013 release, in 2015 the success of her Change Over Currency EP made way for a mini tour in St. Louis and Illinois. Since then, she's built a catalog of many projects and singles. As time passed and the demand increased to release more music, she learned to record, mix and master most of her records and records for other artists. Today, she owns a non-profit recording studio and record label, Vivid Core Music, founded in 2017. As a recording artist and engineer, she encourages unbelievers and empowers believers through Christ-centered art. It's time that we had a conversation about Godly Ambition. This season we are studying productivity tips from the Bible, and it's time to talk about the elephant in the room. Together, we are prioritizing the meaningful above the millions of things this world tells us we should be doing. But that is impossible without looking at the heart of the reasons we want to succeed. This episode was definitely filled with information. You should listen in if you want to recognize:the purpose of Godly ambition;the connection between ambition & humility;ways to protect yourself from your pride;the importance of inviting God to redefine your personal ambitions;and what to do when you feel the grief of an unfulfilled dream.Find the show notes at https://livdooley.com/torriesorgeDon't forget to snap a screenshot of this episode and tag Torrie and me if this episode blessed you!
