The first Planet FPL Podcast of 2026 sees David join James for a review of the GW19 where Gabriel returned to the Arsenal team and hauled immediately in their big clash against Aston Villa which was part of an exciting night of action on Tuesday in the Premier League. Let's hope however that New Year's Day wasn't a sign of things to come as only two goals were scored across four games and there was disappointment for Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham who all drew 0-0 and the pressure is being ramped up again on Thomas Frank. Brentford were no better in a dismal encounter at The Gtech, but there's plenty of praise for Leeds and Sunderland for their hard earned points. Suj got to see first hand at the London Stadium just how good Liverpool are, not long after James had seen just how far Tottenham are from the league leaders level as they drew with Wolves. But perhaps the most damning performance of the Gameweek was from Ruben Amorim's Manchester United last night! It's green arrows for Suj and James on the Gameweek 19 Review but very different fortunes for their teams on a dramatic Thursday night as Brighton scored four against Tottenham at The Amex and West Ham caused a shock by winning 2-0 at Arsenal. And they weren't the only surprises this week as Chris Wood scored a stunning hat-trick in Nottingham Forest's victory at Newcastle, while Wolves were another team to score big as they scored four at Brentford and there were some surprising bonus points for offensive FPL defenders. All the games covered, including Manchester United's comeback victory against Aston Villa and Manchester City looked back to their best at Everton with Phil Foden the star of the show. And there's lots to debate ahead of tomorrow's GW20 FPL Deadline, with several great options for captaincy and some extreme benching headaches for some may lead to an activation of a number of Bench Boost chips. But there are warnings of more potential weekend rotation and notes that although GW20 may look great on paper for many FPL managers GW21 needs to be kept in mind, particularly with so many players leaving for AFCON and the Asia Cup. It always seemed likely to be a tough weekend for Fantasy managers with many faced with conflicting issues and that has proved to be the case for many, including Suj and James, who reflect on their underwhelming weekends during the Gamewwek 13 Review. All the games discussed including another mad Tottenham game that ended in defeat to Villa side that's up to 4th, West Ham won it late, as did Arsenal who went top following the City-Liverpool draw, while Chelsea lost heavily at Newcastle, it was a great weekend for Luton and Alejandro Garnacho scored one of 'the' great Premier League goals at Goodison Park.
