On Clash of the Correspondents James is joined by Brighton fan Sam Murray and Aston Villa fan Lee Jackson, with both teams still in the FA Cup, competing for a Champions League place and both could have a Double in Gameweek 33. And for Villa they have a Champions League Quarter Final which makes their FPL assets particular difficult to assess with a juicy fixture at Southampton between the games with PSG. And Brighton could well appeal then to as they host Leicester, but are they liable for rotation too. There's coverage of defensive assets from both, the likes of Yankubah Minteh, Kaoru Mitoma, Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford, plus talismen Joao Pedro and Ollie Watkins as well as the seemingly rotation proof Morgan Rogers. And three's coverage of goals for the rest of the season, the importance of the FA Cup, form, fixtures and more. It's another meeting of 'rivals' on Clash of the Correspondents as James is joined by Brighton fan Sam Murray and Crystal Palace fan Ruaidhri McLoughlin-Dowd to discuss the latest at their clubs, expectations, performance and the FPL assets at the clubs ahead of Sunday's meeting at The Amex. Brighton are 7th but it feels like it could have been so much better after a couple of weeks that has included dropped points after being ahead against Southampton and Leicester. Is consistency likely to hold them back in a bid to qualify for Europe. Palace meanwhile are 17th, but of the 6 teams cut adrift at the foot of the table the feeling from most is that they're far better than their placing suggests. it's 1 defeat in in 7, or 1 win in 6, depending on how you want to look at it. Plus there's discussion on FPL assets, with comparisons of players at the clubs, including Dean Henderson v Bart Verbuggen and Kaoru Mitoma v Ebe Eze. There's also focus on Joao Pedro, cheaper midfielders and the best choices from the backlines, with The Seagulls in the middle of a great run, and a positive turn of fixtures is only around the corner for The Eagles. Sam Murray joins James to discuss the summer changes at Brighton with Roberto De Zerbi replaced by Fabian Hürzeler, who at 31 becomes the Premier League's youngest ever permanent manager. The Podcast includes discussion on what we can expect tactically from the new man in charge. And there's plenty of FPL discussion which includes interest in new attacker Yankubah Minteh who may thrill from the right and is attainable at 5.5, the same price as the popular Joao Pedro, but will the forward prove his fitness ahead of Gameweek 1? And the brilliant Kaoru Mitoma (6.5) is back fit, but largely being ignored. Perhaps that's because of a difficult fixture schedule which sees The Seagulls play 7 of last season's top 8 in the opening 11 gameweeks, but week 4 & 5 are very attractive with home fixtures against Ipswich and Nottingham Forest, a period that looks perfect to field 4.0 defender Valentin Barco, who if he does well is likely to make interest in any of the rest of the defensive assets at 4.5 undesirable. But maybe only from the start. Man City have it in their own hands to claim the title again, but are they as strong now as they have been during previous title run-ins? Plus all the key FPL assets discussed from City, featuring concerns over Erling Haaland's form, Foden v De Bruyne, if Ederson can be relied on and best defensive assets. On the weekend review of DGW34 Suj returns to join James to discuss the 7 games played so far and for those who took the plunge on Crystal Palace attacking assets it was likely a good weekend with all of Eze, Olise and Mateta returning well. Arsenal and Everton defensive assets also returned well but there was large rotation for Liverpool in their victory at Fulham with Trent Alexander-Arnold being the one that got away for James. But at least he did have decent coverage of Palace, unlikely a certain someone... All the games discussed with thoughts already focusing beyond the rest of this double Gameweek and towards the final 4 weeks, which particular for James means thinking beyond just the 6 clubs who double in Gameweek 37. But those 6 will still make up the majority of slots for Wildcarders but are there any good defensive assets to pick from!? Plus, more VAR controversy, especially at Goodison which led to a stinging and unusual response from Forest, thoughts from the FA Cup semi finals including the heartbreaking near miss for Coventry against Manchester United and Suj reveals that he's leaving the country, permanently. Jarrod Bowen is currently FPL's 5th highest scoring player but will the departure of Mohammed Kudus to AFCON mean Bowen moves back to the right? Should they be a concern for owners or those intending to invest? Or is he likely to be a popular captaincy choice in GW21 at Sheffield United? Brighton just wish they had players who could play wide, with Kaoru Mitoma and Simon Adingra added to a lengthy injury list. Could 4.7 midfielder Facundo Buonanotte step up or is the multi talented Pascal Gross a better investment? Could Jooa Pedro now see increased minutes in a wider role? Both teams have attractive long-term fixtures and don't play again in the Europa League until March. Enablers such as Alphonse Areola and Jan Paul Van Hecke are also covered, but both have struggled for clean sheets; could that be about to change? Dark moods, stress, PTSD, anxiety, and trauma almost resulted in former Royal Marine Sam Murray taking his own life.  It can be difficult to comprehend the levels of stress that Royal Marine Commandos must experience during and after their years of service. After hitting rock bottom, Sam embarked upon a difficult journey of self-awakening and personal development after discovering cold water and breathwork to be a life-changing combination. Inspired to help others overcome similar challenges, Sam has since co-founded the Breath Connection with his partner Miranda Bailey, a Nutritional Therapist and Breathwork Practitioner, as they now help others to "unlock the power of the breath to build resilience and reduce their stress. In this episode of the On a Mission podcast, Sam and Miranda discuss how their definition of success has evolved as they have evolved and share practical antidotes to rebalance a stressed mind and body.  Could cold water immersion and breathwork be the key to unlocking the potential we all have within us? KEY TAKEAWAYS Most trauma has the devastating effect it does, because it triggers a memory or feeling from childhood that has yet to be addressed and resolved. We all know the answers that can lead us from darkness into the light, but we simply have to find a way of awakening these solutions within ourselves. Breathing, in Sam's case, was the key to unlocking this. Meditation and breath work performed first thing in the morning, can help to set your mind for the rest of the day. Quietening the mind and connecting with something bigger than us is a vital part of showing up effectively. Stress is a huge driver of human endeavour. Society teaches us that stress makes us somehow efficient, but this is not true. We have the power to manage stress through breath work, and should wield it as a power for good - alleviating stress and taking back control of our minds and bodies. BEST MOMENTS 'I had an awakening' 'We need to be prepared to go to war within ourselves' 'I'm really interested in breath work for its capacity to help us manage stress' 'Don't get caught up in your own thoughts and your own BS' VALUABLE RESOURCES On A Mission - https://omny.fm/shows/on-a-mission   The Breath Connection - https://www.thebreathconnection.org The Breath Connection Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/thebreathconnection_org/  The Breath Connection Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/TheBreathConnection  Sam's Charity Relay Channel Swim - https://gofund.me/b94a69df  ABOUT THE HOST Not so long ago, life was barely recognisable for Ellie McKay, raising three children under five, battling post-natal depression, facing redundancy and walking into the job centre to claim benefits with a double pram, no confidence, and wracked with insecurities. There's reflection on Potter's spell at The Seagulls, why it's so difficult for clubs like Brighton to break into the top 6 and an introduction to De Zerbi, who may bring a tactical style unlike anything we've seen before in the Premier League. Plus, what should FPL managers do now with their Brighton assets, if those who have gone without the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mo Salah should quickly get them in, or if it's viable, remarkably, to consider having no Liverpool assets at all...  Follow Dan on Twitter: https://twitter.com/FPL_LocoLord Follow Sam on Twitter: https://twitter.com/FPLSeagull Coming up tomorrow on Planet FPL - Ask James, scheduled for 4pm BST Join our Planet FPL Mini League: https://fantasy.premierleague.com/leagues/auto-join/yw6ree Patrons can find information on their mini leagues this season via this post https://www.patreon.com/posts/patreon-mini-69251447 You can also join our Sky Fantasy Football Mini League. So many of the issues ring true in today's journalistic climate.   Roger Ailes was quoted as saying "we don't follow the news, we make the news”. Lots of disguised opinions in newspapers and journalism these days.   6.15 – Masterchef - a debacle on so many levels. The collective negotiation between hosts is risky and requires lots of trust. We need to get used to paying for things says Hutchy - people are being conditioned to do that gradually. 27.00 - Game Day v Sunday Morning Footy Show – ratings have been interesting since the time slot change.  Sunday Footy Show doesn't have primary rights, but still has a well rating show without the rights.  29.30 – AFL Radio Rights. 32.00 – Can Jaiyden Stephenson go on holidays or not?  That wasn't the point. All media needed was someone (like Wayne Carey) to have an opinion about it. Boom – big story. 36.15 - most media spend their time hunting down people who are disgruntled (easier now with social media)  to give them fuel for stories.   38 – Xavier Duursma and the bow and arrow symbolism. Few people tried to move to the progressive opinion this time – interesting to see the shift. 39 – Update on Sam Murray's B Sample as the one year anniversary looms. How are things at ASADA? 42 – Andrew Bogut has had a crack at the Melbourne United team, regarding the amount it's spent on its roster.  Was it a shot at Hutchy? That is, unless the role didn't look pretty in the case of Tom Rockliff or you're playing the breakeven game with Zach Merrett, you should hold. Priority should be based around bringing in cash cows. If you missed Nick Holman, Tim Kelly, Tom Doedee, Tim English, Sam Murray, Bayley Fritsch, Dom Barry or Jeremy Finlayson, look to bring them in. It might be at the expense of a draftee whose cash generation may look limited or if someone in your squad didn't play on the weekend or is dropped for this week. Rage trading is fun, but make sure you look to make your team better for the long-term. I've just found my poor, neglected George Rudall flute in the cupboard under the stairs. The thing is around three million years old (early 1820s - is that just 2 million then?) and Sam Murray rescued it a bit more recently than the 1820s. It's not firing on all cylinders due to my neglect but I thought this reel would be a fairly gentle device for coaxing it back into some sort of life. I heard this tune on Michael Tubridy's excellent "Eagle's Whistle" LP.
