Heath Miller sits down with me to talk about fatherhood. We chat about the values he looks to instill into his kids. Plus, we talk about how there a balance of being there for your kids and having them learn on their own. After that we talk about his time in the NFL and winning two Super Bowls with the Pittsburgh Steelers. In addition we talk about him coaching at St. Anne's-Belfield. Lastly, we finish the interview with the Fatherhood Quick Five. About Heath Miller Heath Miller was the Pittsburgh Steelers number one pick in the 2005 NFL Draft. Miller, who played 11 seasons, started 167 of 168 games played during the regular season. In addition, he started all 15 postseason contests that he played in. Miller's 168 regular-season games played are the most by a tight end in Steelers' history. Heath was a key part of the Super Bowl XL and XLIII. Miller retired as the all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns by a tight end. Now, he is the new head football coach at St. Anne's-Belfield. Heath and his wife, Katie have four children: Chase, Jake, Cole, and Morgan. Red's Is This Week's Podcast Sponsor Red's is on a mission to cook food better for people with big things to do. We live in a world where we believe we can handle anything—until we can't. And it's often in those moments we begin to wonder: "Who can I truly depend on? Who will walk with me through life? Am I alone?" The answers to those questions are the reason we believe Jesus is worth following.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The field of audiobooks has exploded since the introduction of mp3 players, and it continues to expand. But it takes a unique set of skills to voice audiobooks in sci-fi and fantasy genres. I talk with audiobook narrators John Pirhalla, Luke Daniels, Amy Landon, and Heath Miller about juggling dozens of voices or accents at the same time, and the kinds of choices they have to make when voicing characters who are not human. We discuss their approach to making dense worldbuilding narration feel like an intimate conversation, and how to voice the game mechanics in Lit RPG books. They have to do all that while competing against a very sci-fi type of threat: AI and voice cloning. Today's episode is sponsored by Henson Shaving. “Bleav in Steelers” hosts Ike Taylor and Mark Bergin share their thoughts on the Pittsburgh Steelers' 20-10 win over the New Orleans Saints. The guys discuss the impact of T.J. Watt's return to the lineup for the first time since Week 1 of the season. It led to Alex Highsmith having a big game. Defensive backs Damontae Kazee and Levi Wallace also had interceptions, which helped the Steelers hold the Saints scoreless in the second half. Najee Harris had his best game of the season with 20 carries for 99 yards. The Steelers' 217 rushing yards were the most they've had in a game since Dec. 11, 2016. Bergin also thinks the Steelers should bring back kicker Nick Sciba while Chris Boswell sits with a groin injury. Taylor shares his thoughts on Heath Miller, who the Steelers inducted into their Hall of Honor Class. Other topics include the Indianapolis Colts getting a win in interim head coach Jeff Saturday's debut, Justin Fields doing his best Michael Vick impression, Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beating the Seattle Seahawks in Germany, the Minnesota Vikings' crazy comeback against the Buffalo Bills the Green Bay Packers' upset of the Dallas Cowboys, JuJu Smith-Schuster's concussion and the San Francisco 49ers beating the Los Angeles Chargers. Narrator Heath Miller is entrancing in Catherynne M. Valente's adventurous middle-grade fantasy. Host Jo Reed and AudioFile's Emily Connelly discuss the lively and engaging story of 13-year-old Osmo, who longs for an interesting life out of Littlebridge, and finds it in unfortunate circumstances. Osmo now must enter the woods with unwilling companions—Bonk the Cross, a skadgebat (skunk-badger-wombat), and Nevermore, the pangirlin. Miller creates a fantastical array of character voices for each and every being, human and otherwise. Osmo's voice is fittingly kind and soft-spoken as he ventures on his quest, while Bonk's Scottish brogue and melodramatic crustiness is improbably endearing. Miller's droll English accent expresses authority yet invites trust; the listener is willingly carried off to the fabled Eightpenny Woods. Excellent family listening. The DEBUT episode of RAWdiobooks! Who could the guest be? Heath Miller - obviously! To be honest, I hadn't known of Heath's work until he was booked on the show. Now I feel like the only dumbass who'd never listened to his narrations! He's relatively new on the narration scene but the guy sounds like a seasoned vet to me. Do yourself a favor - remember his name. Heath Miller. Say it with me. Heath. Miller. Nice. Now really draw out the ‘eeee' in Heath and the ‘iiii' and ‘rrrrr' in Miller. Heeeeeath. Miiiillerrrrrr. Now moan it. Please? Just once? Nevermind. Keep listening to hear me ask Heath if he thinks he's better than me, show him why he's not with many examples, and possibly find out why he's Australian.Stalk Heath on Twitter @veryheathmiller and keep tabs on him on his website: http://www.heathmiller.net/voice See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

The simultaneous innocence and rowdiness of teenage boys in a small town, the vulnerable connection and codependence between a single mom and her son, and the wild ride as a young man in the world of professional wrestling. I'll let you wait and hear the story in his voice. This is a fun and full conversation. Heath gets vulnerable with us and I'm grateful for his willingness to share. Heath wrestled professionally with WWE for 15 years and was let go in the middle of COVID 19, which turned out to be just the pivot in his career that he didn't know he needed until it happened. I cannot imagine doing Heath's job or watching my husband take punches the way Heath has for his 16 year wrestling career. He has also recently undergone surgery on his abdomen to repair years worth of injuries and is currently on a road to recovery. Heath has an infectious enthusiasm for life, a kindness unlike anything I've seen in a man that throws humans around for a living, a deep love for his wife and two daughters, a level head and a resilient spirit. Today we talk about taking punches. Getting knocked on your ass and the value of getting back up. For many of us out there, this feels like our soundtrack to life. I personally prefer a life that knocks me down from time to time, keeps me humble. Heath is in the middle of all kinds of change and rebuilding. Change in his career and building back his body after surgery. He is a go-go-go kind of guy, so sitting still is not something he's accustomed to, but it's taught him a lot. We recorded this conversation in Spring of 2021 and I've waited until now, October 2021 to release it as Heath is back in the ring with a big fight coming up later this month. I'm excited to see what is next for him, and I know he has a new internal drive and fight unlike ever before. In the words of Heath Miller, “Let's go baby.” Resources & Links to Further Connect with Heath Miller: Heath on Instagram Heath on Twitter If you would like to connect with Ivey and continue the conversation, please feel free to connect on social media.

The Pittsburgh Steelers haven’t had an individual tight end get over eight touchdowns and 876 receiving yards in their history, Heath Miller is the gold standard as far as the tight ends go in franchise history. However, they have one arriving that far bested those numbers two years ago in Indy and the incumbent that is pretty talented himself. With Eric Ebron and Vance McDonald catching offerings from Ben Roethlisberger, there is a potential for this to be an epic season as far as the position goes. But there is a but. But injuries have hampered both players in their respective careers. Should Steeler Nation curb their enthusiam as far as the tight end position goes? Welcome everyone to This Was The Scene, the podcast that takes a look back at the late 90s / early 2000 Nj Jersey Punk scene, I am your host, Mike Doyle. From 98-2001 My weekends were as follows: go to a show to see local bands play or play said shows with my band Lanemeyer. Afterwords I would go to diners or random parking lots, smoke cigarettes and talk about life with friends I made from these shows. Thanks to show promoters, like Heath Miller, anyone in the scene had something to do pretty much every weekend. Heath and a ton of other promoters saw that they could be the ones to organize events where we could all come together and create a ruckus. In this interview we talk about: How some bands would do stupid shit Kids that would just attend shows in certain areas The equipment he started out with How he always made sure to pay people what they were promised even if the show sucks How bands would never turn down their amps so people could hear the vocals How it’s sketchy for bands to stay and random peoples homes after a show when they are on tour His dropkick Murphy’s show in Teaneck American legion where he crammed X people in the hall His State Farm commercial at said legion hall We do some googling about random band facts How the kids these days are making more EDM Shows that he’s still booking How he beat fat mike in poker Crazy stories about shows And a ton more Before we being, thank you again to the people who’ve donated to the podcast. If you’d like to do so just go to thiswasthescene.com and send whatever you’d like. Check out excessdb.com to see what upcoming shows are happening in Jersey and New York City. Also, make sure you keep your calendars open for something special on July 21 in Teaneck New Jersey. Feel free to subscribe, leave a review and share this with anyone who would love some nostalgia. With that said, lets get started.
