The Art of Fatherhood Podcast is an amazing podcast that offers a refreshing and genuine take on fatherhood. As a new dad, I have found this podcast to be incredibly informative and enjoyable. The conversations with dads in all stages of life provide valuable insights and lessons on parenting. What I appreciate most about this podcast is that it does not push any agendas or try to tell you how to be a dad. Instead, it focuses on sharing each dad's unique story and experiences. It feels like sitting in a room with these guys and listening to them talk about the best job in the world - being a father.

One of the best aspects of this podcast is the variety of guests that Art brings on. From astronauts to athletes to entrepreneurs, there is something for everyone. Each conversation dives deep into fatherhood, allowing us to learn from these individuals who excel in their respective fields but are also dedicated fathers. It's inspiring to see how these dads navigate their lives and prioritize their roles as parents alongside their other responsibilities.

Another great aspect of this podcast is Art's interviewing style. He has a way of making his guests feel comfortable and at ease, resulting in authentic and meaningful conversations. You can sense the camaraderie and connection between Art and his guests as they share their stories and perspectives on fatherhood. It truly feels like you are part of the conversation, which makes for an engaging listening experience.

As for drawbacks, it's hard to find any significant flaws with The Art of Fatherhood Podcast. However, if I had to nitpick, some episodes may not resonate with everyone depending on personal interests or experiences. Nevertheless, the overall quality and range of topics covered make up for any minor preferences.

In conclusion, The Art of Fatherhood Podcast is an exceptional show that celebrates fatherhood without being preachy or agenda-driven. Through insightful conversations with a diverse array of guests, this podcast offers valuable lessons on parenting while highlighting the positive aspects of fatherhood. Art's interviewing style and the genuine nature of the conversations make this podcast a must-listen for any parent or anyone interested in becoming the best version of themselves as a parent. I highly recommend giving it a listen and discovering the joy and challenges of being a father through the stories and experiences shared on this podcast.

In addition, Brent shares the values he looks to instill into his daughters. After that we move to talk about his fantastic football career. We chat about his tough start into the league after a car accident to playing with the 49ers and winning Super Bowls with Joe Montana and Bill Walsh. We get into his broadcasting career and the challenges that he faced in the broadcast booth. Then we talk about him creating Northgate Capital and getting into the financial industry. Lastly, we finish the interview with the Fatherhood Quick Five.  About Brent Jones  Brent Jones spent his entire athletic career—prep, college and professional—in the Bay Area, going from Leland High in San Jose to Santa Clara University to the San Francisco 49ers. He was the third tight end taken in the 1986 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 5th round. After being injured in a car accident, the Steelers released him allowing him to be signed by the 49ers and the rest is history for the South Bay product. Eleven of his twelve years in the NFL were as the Niner's All-Pro tight end. Jones ranks fifth in 49er career receiving history. In regular season play, he caught 417 passes for 5,195 yards and 33 touchdowns. In addition, Jones had 60 receptions for 740 yards and 5 touchdowns in the playoffs.  He helped San Francisco to victories in Super Bowls XXIII, XXIV and XXIX. Therefore, Jones became the prototype for the tight end position under legendary 49er Coach Bill Walsh, the architect of the West Coast Offense. A strong blocker, he was an integral part of the 49er offense. In 1998, Jones was awarded the AIA Bart Starr Award, given annually to the NFL player who best exemplifies outstanding character and leadership in the home, on the field and in the community. Brent retired from the NFL in 1998 and was quickly signed by CBS Sports for the NFL Today Show, and later as an NFL game analyst. He co-founded Northgate Capital and resides with his family in the Bay Area. Brent Jones and his wife, Dana, have two daughters, Rachel and Courtney. He showed up, put in the work, did all the "right" things. But every day, he fought an invisible battle against unseen, unchallenged forces shaping his life in ways he didn't understand. One day, he saw the trajectory of his life if he stayed the same, and it shook him to his core. That wake-up call led to his powerful discovery that inside every man are four forces shaping him: Warrior, King, Wizard, Jester. Left unchecked, they produce mediocrity, distraction, and regret. But when trained, fueled, and aligned, they are the key to strength, wisdom, and a life of deep meaning. Brian focuses his attention on his wife and two daughters and their busy life in Los Angeles. A graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, Brian believes that life should be full of joy and laughter, and he finds it on his snowboard and in books and documentaries. Andrew was determined to see how men view friendship and the different stereotypes men feel they need to have when it comes to friendship. In addition we talk about how he wants to be a great role model to his kids about maintaining healthy relationships with friends. Lastly, we finish the interview with the Fatherhood Quick Five.  About Andrew McCarthy  Andrew McCarthy is the author of three books, Brat: An '80s Story, Just Fly Away, and The Longest Way Home — all New York Times best sellers. He is an award winning travel writer and served for a dozen years as an editor-at-larger at National Geographic Traveler magazine. Andrew has directed scores of television shows, but is best known as an actor for the past four decades, appearing is such iconic films as Pretty in Pink and Less Than Zero. About Who Needs Friends “You don't really have any friends, do you, Dad?”   A seemingly innocuous, if direct, question from Andrew McCarthy's son left him reeling. McCarthy did have friends. Yet, like so many other men, the necessities of modern adult life had forced his friendships to the background. At one point his friends had been instrumental in broadening his horizons, bolstering his courage, providing safe harbor. Now, McCarthy found himself questioning what had happened to those friendships. Whether he needed them, what he valued, and what he had to offer. A simple question had become a moment that demanded a reckoning.  About The Art of Fatherhood Podcast  The Art of Fatherhood Podcast follows the journey of fatherhood.
