TERRIFIER 3: Damian Leone is terug met zijn creatie Art the Clown oftewel The Terrifier.
Our Score - 7.83/10 (B) Rotten Tomatoes - 96% IMDB - 6.7/10 Chosen By: Matt McNeal Oddity (2024) might be more creepy than outright scary, but the tight direction, twist-filled narrative, and solid performances create a chilling atmosphere perfect for the Halloween season.

This week we kick off October and Horror Season with something old from a legendary studio and something new from a go-to service for fright fiends. Gerald and Marianne honeymooning through Bavaria in 1910 run out of gas and learn they are miles off course and days away from any fuel delivery. Taking refuge at the local inn, they catch the eye of Dr. Ravna and his children who invite them to a ball at their home. Separated during the festivities Gerald soon discovers that under all the frivolity lies a vampiric cult. Can Gerald save his bride? Will anyone lend him aid besides the drunk professor? Could Marianne really prefer the life of a bloodsucker? Don Sharp's first film for Hammer, Kiss of the Vampire. Alone one night, while renovating her new home, Dani is brutally murdered. A former patient of her psychiatrist husband, Ted, is quickly convicted of the crime and sent back into Ted's care. Justice being quickly served, Ted begins his life anew and takes up with Yana, a pharmaceutical rep. Just when Ted thinks he can move on with his life, his deceased wife's blind twin sister shows up at his door with an unusual gift. Was the right person convicted? Will Ted ever find peace to leave his tragedy in the past? Could the mysterious gift be the key to supernatural justice? The second feature from Damian McCarthy, shot in the same converted barn as his first, Oddity. All that and Dave probably missed something, Tyler spelunks the depth of exploitation nastiness, Kevin mourns the loss of another regiment in the squirrel army, and special guest Christianne (who can be found blogging as Vulnavia Morbius at krelllabs.blogspot.com) returns just in time to learn some very disturbing history. Join us, won't you? Episode 381- That's an Odd Kiss

The FAN Morning Show welcomes back Brent Gunning to the host's chair, who is joined by guest host Daniele Franceschi! The duo start by discussing last night's MLB Home Run Derby and the appeal of the event in relation to other All-Star competitions, most notably the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. They also relish in the fact that a former Blue Jay, Teoscar Hernández, won the showcase; just to rub it in for Toronto fans. The pair also weigh in on Vladimir Guerrero Jr. wearing an old t Blue Jays Teo jersey as he cheered him on from the sidelines, along with some comments he made to Sportnset's own Shi Davidi regarding the upcoming trade deadline and his future in Toronto. In the back end of the hour, Gunner shares his observations he made out West about Alberta sports fans in relation to both the Blue Jays and hockey (37:25). TW/CW: mental health, torture, SA, SWIn Nigeria, people were going missing. A group of motorcycle taxi drivers organized a search and found a derelict building deep in the Ibadan Forest. Inside, were the remains of more than 50 people. The living were emaciated and so traumatized, they couldn't speak. Some say it's a serial killer, some say it's ritual sacrifice or human trafficking. The Warriors ended the season with one final heartbreak, throwing away a commanding lead to lose the last game of 2022. This result left them second from bottom and marked the conclusion of one of the worst seasons in the team's history. Despite the stormy season, more than 20,000 fans still crammed in Mt Smart Stadium to watch the final match, and you can rest assured they'll be back for more next season. So why does this team struggle so much to live up to its potential, and why do fans still bother turning up to support them? Today, NZ Herald sports journalist Michael Burgess joins Damien to discuss the woeful track record of one of New Zealand's most well-supported teams. Follow The Front Page on iHeartRadio or wherever you get your podcasts. You can read more about this and other stories in the New Zealand Herald, online at nzherald.co.nz, or tune in to news bulletins across the NZME network. The ghoulish trio explains how the film fits into a larger canon of horror films from the 1970s that expose cultural anxieties around displaced manhood, the dread of second wave feminism, and monstrous wives/children run amok. Drawing upon Linda Williams's theoretical framework about body genres in film—such as horror, pornography, and melodrama—our guests discuss The Brood's fun combination of reproductive horror and domestic melodrama that explores masculine anxiety, feminine monstrosity, and the return of the abject. This conversation delves into other horrifying historical depictions of women's mental health, as observations on mise-en-scéne find connections with Charlotte Perkins Gilman's short story “The Yellow Wallpaper.” Our host and guests dream up merchandise items inspired by the film, like a Brood fashion line and microbrew. Daniel argues that many horror films deal blatantly with the existence of evil and often have strong religious themes. So why are they so popular amongst our secular culture? And why do most evangelical Christians avoid them like a curse of Satan? Does Kyle believe in ghosts anyways?
The 1990’s was a tough time for American horror movies. But, while the Drive-Ins died and horror movies disappeared from the movie theaters, there was one safe haven left for the horror fan: The Independent Video Store. The time of the "Mom and Pop" video store, before the big studios realized the goldmine of it, was a great time to be a movie fan. The stores reflected their communities, and were a place for fans to congregate and trade movie tips and ideas. However, the 1990's weren't just a tough time for horror. It was a tough time for me as well. I was just as aimless as the plight of the horror movie at the time. Through a series of strange events I was put on track by a great video store that allowed me to delve into foreign horror movies and, more importantly, to talk to passionate fans about films. In this episode I talk about the place of the video store as the ignition point for a cultural movement. And, on a personal level, how the video store culture saved me through the 1990s, and introduced me to Guillermo del Toro, Coffin Joe, Lars von Trier, and Jan Svankmeyer. Thanks for listening. First up I give my review of Dead Like Me...Life After Death as we catch up with George Lass and her fellow Grim Reapers.
