For the first time in fall camp, Washington's offense stepped up and won the day. The guys from Dawgman -- Kim Grinolds, Scott Eklund and Chris Fetters -- were there and they went through some of the big plays and discussed some of the performers who stood out. A few of the players they mentioned were defensive back Thaddeus Dixon, wide receiver Jeremiah Hunter, RB Jonah Coleman and EDGE Isaiah Ward. They also talked about some of the big plays including an acrobatic touchdown grab by Hunter and a back shoulder touchdown grab by tight end Quentin Moore on a pass thrown by quarterback Will Rogers. Defensively, they highlighted yet another big hit from Justin Harrington and interceptions by Darren Barkins and Dyson McCutcheon. Lastly, they discussed Saturday's Mock Game that will be held at 6:30 pm and what complications the Washington DOT has added to the mix for those who are planning to attend the game. Locked On Huskies - Daily Podcast on Washington Huskies Football & Basketball
Coach Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies earned two big commitments from the transfer portal on Tuesday, acquiring former Miami Hurricanes edge rusher Jayden Wayne, who was once the top recruit in the state of Washington, and Oklahoma safety Justin Harrington to Steve Belichick's defense. In the final days of the transfer portal, the coaching staff is still looking to bring in players along the offensive line especially but also appears to be eyeing running back Jordan Washington and wide receiver Elijhah Badger, as well as high school prospects like edge rusher CJ May, tight end Vander Ploog, offensive linemen Champ Taulealea and Peter Langi, and safety Ladarian Clardy who will be in attendance for the spring game. Locked On Huskies hosts Roman Tomashoff and Lars Hanson discuss the impact of the transfers, who could be next, and the big weekend of official visits the coaching staff has set for the spring game.Locked On Huskies is part of the Locked On Podcast Network.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Grant was bored by the spring game while Lee explains why the spring game was pretty interesting to him (1:25). We get into the breakdown beginning with Jackson Arnold and his play (8:30). Lee wants to talk about Michael Hawkins because there was a spring narrative about him looking really good, yet we didn't see much evidence of that in the spring game (23:15). The offensive line with Jackson Arnold played really well. Overall we're encouraged by what we saw from the OL (25:35). Deion Burks was terrific, but no other pass catchers really stood out (33:20). Sawchuk, Hicks, and Franklin all looked good at running back. The room looks to be in better shape than last season. Have we seen the last of Jovantae Barnes in an OU uniform (43:30)? We switch over to the defense and begin with the defensive line. Lee liked a good amount of what he saw, while Grant is very skeptical of the interior part of the line. Can the Sooners pick up some of these big D-linemen in the portal (56:45)? Not much to say about the linebackers aside from Kobie McKinzie looked good. Grant is still high on Jaren Kanak. Was he at fault for the second Burks TD? Lee could not figure out what coverage OU was in on the two long TDs (1:08:00). Thoughts on the OU secondary. Lee thinks Dez Malone may be a starter at corner. Grant liked what he saw from RSJ, but overall the secondary was slightly disappointing (1:13:50). We read your "3 Word Reviews" from the WoE Facebook page (1:19:10). Final thoughts on who stood out on offense. Grant wants RPOs to be eliminated (1:23:15). Final thoughts on defensive standouts (1:29:50). The kicking game will continue to be a massive question mark. Are you interested in the Miami (OH) kicker in the portal? Plus we go over other final disappointing thoughts from the scrimmage (1:31:50). Shane Whitter and Justin Harrington recently entered the transfer portal (1:39:40). | Like the show on Facebook: @westofeverest | Follow Grant on Twitter: @GrantBenson25 | Follow Lee on Twitter: @LeeBensonTweets
Brent Venables opened up practice for quite a long time to the media this week. Plus many players conducted interviews, including Jovantae Barnes. We begin the show by jumping into Barnes and what the heck is going on with his foot and his potential availability for the 2024 season. Lee goes through the timeline of his foot injury dating back to last spring and we try to figure out if he's ever going to be healthy--or maybe Barnes just simply isn't very good (3:00). Grant points out that the two players atop the RB depth chart are injury prone, so potentially all RBs have a chance to get some run this year. We relitigate the final quarter of the Kansas game and ask why Barnes was in the game and not Gavin Sawchuk? We also continue to question DeMarco Murray's management of that room (17:20). We move over to Jackson Arnold and what he's working on this spring. Is he really off of social media? Grant is expecting a big season from Arnold, but Lee can't help but think of the worst case scenario. What if Jackson Arnold plays as well as Spencer Rattler played in his RS-Freshman year? Would we take that (30:15)? I think we continue to get evidence the TE room is much better than it was a season ago. Thoughts on Davon Mitchell and Kaden Helms (40:45). David Stone and Jayden Jackson are making really good first impressions (47:40). I think we learned a lot from Dasan McCullough's availability this week. Grant's afraid he does not have a true position anymore, while Lee is hoping that maybe Will LB is a spot that can allow McCullough to contribute and make plays (53:40). Woodi Washington is repping at basically every secondary position. Lee's not sure this is a good thing for Woodi. Grant wants to remind everybody that while OU's secondary looks to have a lot of depth, the pass defense was still bad in 2023 (1:00:30). All we're getting is good vibes from Zac Alley and it sounds like he's simplifying the defene for everybody. Does that sound too much like Alex Grinch's Speed D (1:12:00)? Thoughts on Justin Harrington and his recovery from injury. Grant wants to make sure he brings up Deion Burks and the rave reviews he's been getting. Plus there were reports that Troy Everett suffered some sort of an injury this week (1:17:00). Lastly, Lee doesn't care at all to hear about Casey Thompson right now. Grant defends Casey (1:24:50). | Like the show on Facebook: @westofeverest | Follow Grant on Twitter: @GrantBenson25 | Follow Lee on Twitter: @LeeBensonTweets
Gabe Ikard and Teddy Lehman begin their breakdown of Oklahoma's roster with the linebackers and Cheetah: Danny Stutsman, Kip Lewis, Kobie McKinzie, Jaren Kanak, Lewis Carter, Samuel Omosigho, Kendel Dolby, Dasan McCullough and Justin Harrington (2:52). Teddy and Gabe answer some listener questions: Top 5 things that annoy Teddy?, could OU play more 3 down front in 2024?, what makes Oklahoma a nice place to live? and more! We open the show by talking about what's coming up, plus Daylight Savings Time. We move on to Brent Venables' pre-Spring press conference where we learned that Justin Harrington won his appeal with the NCAA. Also some thoughts on Andrel Anthony (5:00). We've learned how to pronounce some new names, OU's hired a new offensive analyst, Venables had some thoughts on new co-DC Zac Alley, and Venables has improved as a speaker since becoming OU's head coach (9:40). There seems to be quite a bit of mid-year enrollees. Thoughts on David Stone and Jayden Jackson, Venables on a "General Manager", and what about the proposed rules involving comms inside player helmets, and a 2-minute warning (17:35). Venables on the defensive line as a whole, the offensive line, and the TE run (29:40). Did Venables hint at something that may change on special teams? There's going to be plenty of competition at kicker (40:00). Venables said Jalil Farooq has had a terrific offseason, as well as Jayden Gibson. More thoughts on the WRs (45:00). We shift to the player interviews where we learned that David Stone wants to be a neurosurgeon. Thoughts on Deion Burks, Sam Franklin, Bauer Sharp, Davon Mitchell, and Lee's jumping on the Danny Okoye bandwagon (48:00). We address a couple of comments from the WoE Facebook involving a former OU D-line commit, and one listener's thoughts on Lamar Jackson (1:09:00). We talk about Arch Manning opting out of the upcoming video game. Apparently EA Sports will not let you edit in the names of players who opt out (1:16:40). Taking a look at ESPN's Top 10 QBs for the 2024 season. Grant says this list shows it's a down year for QBs. Also some brief thoughts on the Top 10 RBs list (1:24:15). Finally, we wrap up the show with our latest thoughts on the OU men's basketball team (1:33:25).
Brent Venables believes his young defensive linemen could contribute in 2024 for Oklahoma Football. Justin Harrington is officially cleared to return. Welcome back! We got a good one for you today and a little bit different! Brent Venables met with the media on Wednesday and had a ton of great information to share from his wife's health, Justin Harrington getting another year at OU and what he's seen from his team in the first part of the offseason. Then we move on to some big time crystal balls for 5-star OT Ty Haywood. We then circle those WaGanns and name our PGP MVPs of the week!
In this week's show, Erik Gee discusses the return of Justin Harrington for another season as spring football gets underway. Plus, NIL stories that will blow your mind, and the SEC/B1G are taking over college football, but is it good for the sport?
No opening take as Lee highlights Baker Mayfield in the show intro. After some brief talk about where the month of March ranks on the calendar, the guys jump into some bad news involving one important OU defensive lineman (5:40). Gentry Williams won't practice this spring as he recovers from surgery. Some guys are just injury prone, some are not (13:30). We dip into some football movies to talk about how we think OU should handle injuries moving forward (20:15). More news from the recent Venables interview on Dasan McCullough, Justin Harrington, and Phil Picciotti (22:20). We learned some brief information about SEC Football Media Days and the guys kick around the idea of attending this July in Dallas (30:40). It appears Baker Mayfield may get a very nice contract soon. Hopefully he continues to have Mike Evans to throw to (36:45). We check out Bill Connelly's list of the top 80 QBs of the 2000s. Grant has some strong opinions about Sam Bradford and the players ranked ahead of him (40:15). We turn our attention to more 2023 preseason thoughts & predictions. Lee didn't think OU could be an elite team with Dillon Gabriel, Grant nailed Iowa State, unfortunately we were right about Texas, Texas Tech did not turn out to be the dark horse Big 12 team, and much more (50:45). The OU men's basketball team almost beat Houston. Now the Sooners play basically a must-win game against Cincinnati (1:17:35). Grant is not happy with where college football is going with the new proposed playoff structure and is Greg Sankey a villain (1:30:00)?
Justin Harrington is from Raleigh, NC but currently is playing Division 1 football in Oklahoma. While Justin has already graduated college and is currently rehabilitating his injury that unfortunately sidelined him, he's looking forward to his last season on the field next year and hopes to be playing in the NFL after that. When Justin isn't playing football, mentoring younger teammates, or reading to kids, you can find him cooking. While he's a Cheetah on the field, he's a Chef in the kitchen and a Celebrity in kids classrooms. In any of these locations, he looks for ways to do more for others with the gifts he's been given. No opening take as the guy's jump right into Cincinnati week. This is the time of the year where we can start to form real opinions about this OU team. We got some good news, and possible bad news, for the OU secondary this week. Will we see Justin Harrington anymore this season? Could Cayden Green get the start at LG this week (2:25)? Jeff Lebby didn't have a whole lot of new information this week about Jackson Arnold's usage. Is there a point to any of this (12:20)? This show has been the official Jalil Farooq should get running back touches podcast (20:00). OU travels to Nippert Stadium and the guys will be there to watch Saturday. Cincinnati is coming off a loss and have a QB that OU once faced in the Cotton Bowl years ago. What does Emory Jones bring to the table (22:35)? We take a look at the rest of the Bearcats offense. Grant found a nugget on tape that may give us an early indication Saturday about how this game may go. How good of win was Cincy's victory over Pitt (32:45)? Gavin Sawchuk talked a little about his injured hamstring this week. He says he's "100 percent", so hopefully we see a better version of him moving forward. Plus we take a look at OU's offense against Cincinnati's defense. If OU's the team we've seen the first 3 games, the Sooners should win this game Saturday. Could we be walking into a possible Dillon Gabriel revenge game (47:05)? We've got a ton of thoughts on the Big 12 slate that features a lot of intriguing matchups (1:06:30). OSU and ISU have the lowest total in all of college football this week (1:13:35). Texas at Baylor is interesting. Grant lays out a dream Texas scenario for this weekend and the rest of the season (1:17:45). College football has been terrific so far this year, and K-State vs UCF is intriguing (1:23:35). We both went 3-2 last week in our picks. Fantastic games this week include FSU-Clemson/SMU-TCU/Colorado-Oregon/Ole Miss-Alabama/Ohio State-Notre Dame (1:29:15). We make one final pitch for people to try Skyline Chili (1:49:30). | Like the show on Facebook: @westofeverest | Follow Grant on Twitter: @GrantBenson25 | Follow Lee on Twitter: @LeeBensonTweets

In the opening take, Lee goes to the WoE Facebook page and highlights a listener who's happy about what he's seen from the Sooners' defense so far. Then Grant joins the show as we give our thoughts on the Art Briles/Jeff Lebby situation (5:10). What's the injury situation surrounding Dasan McCullough and Justin Harrington? Who plays Cheetah if those guys are unable to play? Gentry Williams is available this week. Lee shares some impressive 3rd down defense stats (9:25). Tulsa's offense has been operating without its starting QB. This is a game where OU's defense can have some fun. Will they (21:50)? Jeff Lebby says they want to get Jovantae Barnes and Gavin Sawchuk going this week. We got an answer as to why Jaquaize Pettaway didn't do anything against SMU. Marcus Major is what he is. Does Jeff Lebby know what he wants this OU offense to be (25:30)? Is there any reason to be concerned with OU's offensive line? We read a listener comment about J. Barnes vs. M. Major, and one listener tells us he's going to the Cincinnati game (36:30). We look around the Big 12. Grant thinks Cincinnati may be good. Can BYU score against Arkansas? Lee got a bad number in the Texas-Wyoming game, Houston may be the worst team in the Big 12, and could Kansas be one of the best teams in the Big 12 by season end (45:45)? Jim Traber is in on a College Football Thursday. Is Nebraska any good? Can they be?! Is it worth losing a lot to win won title? (OU vs. LSU) Should we be worried about Justin Harrington? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In the opening take, Grant is fully pumped for football season. Then Lee joins to try and remember the last time they watched an OU game together. We're not buying that Marcus Major and Justin Harrington will be atop the depth chart all season long (5:45). We look back at what turned out to be a prescient season preview show from 2022 (20:45). Our "Big Season Preview" for 2023 includes a bunch of unanswerable questions, beginning with OU's up tempo offense (30:35). Will Jackson Arnold play significant snaps in 2023 (37:35)? Will OU's defense improve (44:50)? Will the Sooners be a better team after halftime (48:40)? Will we know by the end of the season if Jeff Lebby is the right guy for OC (53:20)? Will Ted Roof make it through the season (59:40)? Will we know by the end of the season if Brent Venables is the right man for the job (1:04:50)? We decide to be jerks and debate which 3 veteran players will be more of a non-factor throughout the season (1:08:20). There's been positive developments on the Jayden Gibson front (1:15:00). Which player's All-American season can lead OU to 10 wins in the regular season? Lee opens the show by taking an unwarranted shot at Grant to cover up for his lack of show prep. They then dive into Billy Bowman's health and the amount of snaps he played vs. Iowa State. Lee thinks he'll be back starting and playing a bunch this week against Baylor (1:30). Jovantae Barnes is a game time decision this week. Eric Gray will once again be super important this week and it appears we have discovered that UCF transfer RB Bentavious Thompson is a non-factor on this team (10:05). Lee was really hard on Woodi Washington last episode. Well, Lee was wrong to be so critical and Grant was right (18:00). C.J. Coldon is still not playing very many snaps. Freshman Gentry Williams looked good in very limited playing time vs. ISU. It also seems like they've tightened up the DB rotations, and what happened to Justin Harrington and Kani Walker (24:05)? OU's a short favorite against Baylor, but the Bears may be a lot better than their record indicates. Lee likes what he's seen from Blake Shapen, even though he didn't want to like him. Grant says Shapen has been up & down this year. OU may be able to make some plays with special teams this Saturday (31:40). Jeff Grimes is a really good OC, but Baylor does have tendencies on offense that OU could possibly recognize and anticipate certain plays and pass routes. Grant says Alex Grinch's system was horrible against Grimes' system (42:20). Lee thinks the OU offense has an opportunity to steal some yards against Baylor. Grant wants the Sooners' offense to throw it around the yard on Baylor's secondary (49:05). Does anybody care about the first CFP rankings (58:20)? We take a look at the Big 12 slate, which includes an intriguing OSU-Kansas matchup from a betting perspective. And are oddsmakers telling us to hammer Iowa State against WVU? Grant shares a betting story about his time in the free state of Iowa last weekend (1:03:05)? We make our weekly picks. Games include Oregon St.-Washington/Tennessee-Georgia/Texas-Kansas St./Clemson-Notre Dame/Wake Forest-NC State (1:14:00). Dave Aranda has bounced back from a bad first year at Baylor. Does that give you hope for the future in case OU struggles the rest of the season (1:26:35)? | Like the show on Facebook: @westofeverest | Follow Grant on Twitter: @GrantBenson25 | Follow Lee on Twitter: @LeeBensonNews9

It was a very disruptive pod as news of premium tailgating broke out during the pod right in the middle of us starting our own Make Lindsey Street Great Again movement. We got off to a rough/weird start, but eventually we got to the latest from preseason camp. Justin Harrington is all the rage, we breakdown the offensive line and Brent had some curious comments about the linebacker position. By all accounts the secondary is one of the best looking units on either side of the ball. Josh explains why he failed to turn in evaluations in the latest rankings. And what he was going to turn in. Josh does breakdown everything you want to know about recruiting as the season approaches and we can't help ourselves. It's back to Lindsey Street madness as we continue to try and make sense of the decisions being made by the university. 00:00 - Hello we're back 24:50 - Thoughts from Camp 36:00 - Cautious optimism on defense 57:00 - Captains for Team 128? 1:01:00 - Recruiting
No opening take today. We're the last people to comment on Cale Gundy's resignation (1:25). How fast can OU move on from this situation? Lee talks about what he saw at practice this week (19:25). Have we seen evidence that Jerry Schmidt has evolved over the years (26:30)? Lee goes over his notes from Brent Venables' Wednesday press conference. All of the team and culture building over the last 8+ months will come in handy now (31:35). Matt Wells will have more influence now that Gundy is gone. Jalen Redmond is dealing with an injury. And how funny would it be if Justin Harrington and Eric Gray have massive years in 2022 (35:45)? Lee details a couple of players he saw working at practice off the the side. Plus, the Sooners are moving practice to the rugby fields moving forward. More Jalen Redmond talk and Lee rips on "Speed D" (40:45). Are you excited about Baker Mayfield starting in Carolina? Lee defends Matt Rhule. Grant argues against himself about the effectiveness of former LSU passing game coordinator Joe Brady (47:25). And as the show winds down we briefly hit on "Hard Knocks" and Grant's experience watching the "in season" Colts version of Hard Knocks last year. Finally, Lee wants you to know about two of his favorite sports movies (54:50). Sports Illustrated Sooners publisher John Hoover, deputy editor Ryan Chapman and multimedia director Josh Callaway recap the latest with Oklahoma spring practices and the return of Justin Harrington, react to the return of the OU Coaches Caravan and the departure of Bob Bowlsby from the Big 12, break down the roster and coaching staff chances for basketball, and update the diamond sports.
In the opening take, Grant hits on some of the spring practice storylines he's most intrigued by as we look ahead to the Fall. Then Lee joins to share a recent headline he saw from a USC fan site that may signal Lincoln Riley has not changed since his time at OU (4:50). Cale Gundy says Jeff Lebby is as well rounded of an OC as he's been around (11:50). Dillon Gabriel's a player who's pushed the ball down the field in the past. Grant doesn't think the freshmen WRs won't really make much of an impact in 2022 (20:35). Dillon Gabriel says Jeff Lebby's offense has changed since his time at USC due to Lebby's evolution as a coach. Gabriel says his chemistry with the WRs is further along than he expected, and is it already set in stone that OU will win the National Championship next year (26:35)? Is it possible the team will look flat in the spring game? Is it really possible to fill the stadium for the spring game (38:05)? It was nice to talk to Marvin Mims in person last week. Lee tells us the story of Mims and Jeff Lebby first meeting. What if Riley leaving actually kept Mims in Norman (43:20)? Jay Valai is hyper focused on attention to detail and building "football intelligence" within the players. There's been plenty of evidence in the past that OU defensive players don't seem particularly football intelligent. Lee revisits an old rant about Brendan Radley-Hiles and also brings up other examples of poor football intelligence we've seen from previous OU players (51:00). Grant wants to know what's going on with transfer DB C.J. Coldon? Justin Harrington is back. (1:08:35). Talking WRs this spring compared to the WR groups from previous OU spring practices (1:13:20). Time for some more "red meat" topics as we poke more fun at Lincoln Riley & USC. Lee found a few stories from a USC fan site that he thinks you all will find entertaining (1:22:30). Comparing Alex Grinch's resume before he got to OU, to Jeff Lebby's resume as he begins his OU career (1:43:00). In the opening take, Lee plays some sound from Alex Grinch and talks about how mad he was after the Kansas State game. Then Grant joins to talk briefly about his terrible food takes before getting more serious about Grinch and the defensive woes (5:40). Is Bijan Robinson the entire Texas offense? How much should we take from the Texas-Arkansas game? How did Sark decide on Hudson Card as the opening day starter over Casey Thompson (23:00)? After looking really good against Arkansas, Rice, and Texas Tech, Casey Thompson had mixed results against TCU. What is the blueprint for OU's defense against the Texas offense (32:00)? Texas has more RBs than just Bijan Robinson. A Texas starter on the O-Line is out for the year, plus we wrap up OU's defense vs the Texas offense (40:45). This Texas defense has a lot of similarities to the defense OU just saw. Texas is not very good against the run and at times the Horns invite teams to run the ball (50:30). Which Spencer Rattler will show up at the Cotton Bowl (59:45)? The guys provide their final thoughts predicitions for OU-Texas (1:04:10). We hit on Justin Harrington reportedly entering the Transfer Portal, and would you want to see Bookie back on the team this year (1:14:10)? We take a look at the Big 12. WVU is at Baylor and TCU travels to Texas Tech. Grant thinks TCU may be bad (1:18:00). Grant's been red hot making picks recently. 9-1 in his last 10. Let's see if he can stay hot this week as the guys pick Michigan State-Rutgers/Arkansas-Ole Miss/Georgia-Auburn/Penn State-Iowa/Michigan-Nebraska (1:23:10). Finally, Grant has a weird feeling that there could be a massive upset this week in college football (1:43:00). | Like the show on Facebook: @westofeverest | Follow Grant on Twitter: @GrantBenson25 | Follow Lee on Twitter: @LeeBensonNews9
In the opening take, Grant talks about how he spent the whole weekend watching games from OU's 1985 season. Then Lee joins to provide an update on what to expect from the next couple of episodes. Lee shares what he saw at practice Tuesday morning and we try to figure out how and why college football players these days are allowed to cut up their practice pants (9:00). More practice thoughts from Lee including his thoughts on Austin Stogner, Jaden Haselwood, and Mike Woods (13:45). The Sooners scrimmage Sunday night and Lincoln Riley tells us all about it (18:20). Riley said something about the offensive line that got Lee's attention -- so we dissect every word of it because this is an OU Football podcast. Also, everyone loves Perrion Winfrey (24:40). Danny Stutsman time. Let's hear what Brian Odom has to say about the true freshman (35:05). How quickly is Tre Bradford going to be able to contribute at RB? And DeMarco Murray calls Creed Humphrey the 3rd most athletic offensive lineman he's ever seen (39:00). Roy Manning provided a humorous update on Justin Harrington which leads to Grant questioning the honesty of the OU coaching staff. Who are the corners that are going to play this fall (42:25)? Why is Harrington playing corner when there seems to be more of a depth concern at safety (49:25)? Going to the "West of Everest" Facebook Page to talk about OU losing a recent commitment. Grant's got this one (57:00). Will Jalen Redmond start? And brief discussions about the secondary that we will expand on next show (1:03:00). Finally, we take a look at OU being No. 2 in the AP Poll and "The Athletic" puts out a comical preseason All-American team (1:08:15). | Like the show on Facebook: @westofeverest | Follow Grant on Twitter: @GrantBenson25 | Follow Lee on Twitter: @LeeBensonNews9
Sooners fall camp 2021 talk| 2 things that can cost OU a natty & 2 things that if they are done Oklahoma wins a natty | breakout players predicted| 5-star recruiting talk with OU hot on recruiting trail! 00:00 - OU football is BACK! Not ready to crown them just yet, but lots of positives from Lincoln Riley, Alex Grinch, Bill Bedenbaugh, and Calvin Thibodeaux so far (and if you didn't know, it has just been 4 practices, now 6 so temper excitement, per Coach Bedenbaugh)! 05:00 - OU defense just looks physically different than anyone can truly remember. We name the guys that stood out in our 20-25 minutes at practice on Tuesday. 10:00 - Things coaches have said that have piqued our interest and why. Also, what else did we take away from our minimal time with practice viewing? 16:00 More on what the staffers have said on position battles and our thoughts on those battles. The offensive tackle position talk; the center position seems Andrew Raym's to lose, and young guys are pushing the older returnees for playing time. Who do we think will play? 30:00 - Why Brandon thinks the wide receiver position is pivotal for OU's success this year. He dives into consistency being the key after nine dropped TD's, and then the OUinsider staff transitions into two things OU can't have happen if they want to win the national title. 1:00:00 - Safety position talk: The staff talks about a topic that OUinsider VIP Board members do not like, and that the two returning starters are underrated (Pat Fields and Delarrin Turner-Yell) and deserve respect on their names for their leadership and the fact they keep holding off players more athletically gifted over and over. The real question is the depth at safety, and the OUinsider staff thinks that is as good and deep as it has been in years. 1:04:00 - Also, two things that OU HAS TO HAPPEN for the Sooners to win a national title. OUinsider staff -- and Collin in particular -- goes on a rant for why he thinks the Sooners win the national title in the 2021 season first. The podcast self-proclaimed "realist" is stepping out and saying why he thinks this is OU's year! He finishes his two reasons why OU wins the natty, and the rest of the staff follows with their two reasons why Oklahoma wins it all in 2021. Collin does go off on why Spencer Rattler is the most undervalued preseason Heisman frontrunner he can remember. Due to his spring play, the Caleb Williams buzz has been interesting this off-season to follow with a returner and possible top-5 pick back for OU. Parker thinks Marvin Mims, Mike Woods, and most specifically, Austin Stogner go off in 2021. Defensively, Parker says a lockdown corner has to emerge and explains why with solid players at the position in 2021 like DJ Graham, Woodi Washington, Latrell McCutchin, Jaden Davis, and Justin Harrington. Brandon says the QB room has to stay healthy. Depth is great with the first two in Spencer Rattler and Caleb Williams, but it gets a bit dicey after that. He calls for a bold prediction that there will be two players with 10+ sacks in 2021. The staff breaks down how possible that is and comes up with two players, with 8 sacks being the happy medium. Really solid discussion all the way around there. 1:20:00 - Perrion Winfrey or Jalen Redmond as first-rounders? Who is most likely? Staff is separated on that—all three with good reasons for their choice between the two. 1:30:00 One player on offense and one on defense that will have a surprise year. Staff each name their two guys. 1:40:00 - The rest of the podcast is ALL recruiting talk... 2:07:00 - Staff talks FREE DAY for non-members to checkout OUInsider at NO COST on August 16th! Timothy Harrington discusses his inured son with RFK Jr. Timothy's 21-year-old son suffered severe heart inflammation after receiving his second shot. Justin Harrington, whose school required him to get it in order to attend classes in the fall, experienced flu-like symptoms followed by heart pain within eight to 12 hours of receiving the vaccine. Justin's father, Timothy Harrington, said his son felt different after the second shot. “Every time his heart beat it hurt and he felt pressure,” Harrington said. “Then he developed heart pain down both arms.” --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/rfkjr/message
“How do we bridge the gap between protesters and the artists? How do we bring this all into one consolidated effort?”In the OneBeat Podcast's second episode, we connect with 2019 OneBeat Fellow Justin Harrington (a.k.a Demeanor); a 23-year old banjo-playing rapper from Greensboro, North Carolina. The conversation follows his journey into the seemingly separate worlds of old-time music and hip hop, and he breaks down a range of diverse musical influences spanning from the African Akonting to Kendrick Lamar. In the opening take, Lee tells you why Caleb Williams was impressive during OU's spring game. Then Grant joins to talk about going to the spring game and seeing the stadium for the first time since 2012 (2:55). Then Grant gives his take on Caleb Williams, plus Spencer Rattler was not sharp (7:10). Lee names the offensive players who stood out to him Saturday beginning with Eric Gray's first appearance in an OU uniform (17:00). Mario Williams got a lot of targets Saturday and Jadon Haselwood made the catch of the day (21:45). It would seem Andrew Raym is the top center for the Sooners heading into the summer (27:00). Switching over to the defense as Lee talks about being down on the field seeing some of the new players in person, including Billy Bowman (35:00). Grant loves DJ Graham and he's got a super hot take about Graham's future (38:30). Clayton Smith looked awesome close up and Lee's incredibly excited to see how the Sooners use him this fall (41:45). Let's talk about Caleb Kelly. He looks to be in great shape and it would be super cool if he stays healthy in 2021 (46:20). Grant wants to talk more in depth about the secondary group touching on Josh Eaton, Key Lawrence, Justin Harrington, and more (50:00). We talk about all the players who did not play. Lee was most disappointed to not see Jalen Redmond out there (58:00). There's always random players who stand out in the spring game who never do anything ever again (1:01:45). Wanya Morris started at LT for the first team offense Kennedy Brooks didn't do a lot, and OU gets Arkansas transfer Mike Woods. Good to see Austin Stogner active, plus can any of these 2019 5-star WRs catch a break (1:02:55)? Wrapping up the spring game and looking ahead to the summer and the fall, plus the NFL Draft is this week, and Orlando Brown gets traded to the Chiefs (1:11:10).
