Well, Inilah Risalah Bocah Penjual Roti dari Kasimpasa!

Programledare: Cecilia Uddén, introduktion Johar BendjelloulMedverkande: Johan Mathias Sommarström, Turkietkorrespondent, Besir Kavak, kurdiska gruppen på Ekot, Katja Magnusson, tidigare TurkietkorrespondentProducent: Katja MagnussonTeknik: Hanna MelanderMusik i avsnittet: Hasat Vakti Maher Zain

We arrive in Istanbul for the first of a weekend double-header, with Kasimpasa taking on struggling giants Fenerbahçe at the Recip Tayyip Erdogan Stadium in the heart of the Turkish capital. After overcoming a few difficulties actually getting in - thanks to Mbaye Diagne's exit and the club shop sale rail - ATM samples the joy of the Kasimpasa band, waits around a lot for VAR to do its thing and meets with Fenerbahçe sporting director Damien Comolli, with the former Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool man telling us about his work streamlining the club as they look to a brighter future. At The Match episodes work on a standalone basis, but to catch up on Series 1, please search 'At The Match' in your podcast app.***Please take the time to rate and review us on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your pods. Hva vil Erdogan i Syria?
This week on Turkish Football Weekly, Kaan Bayazit joins Ata Dizdar for the second straight week. Week 16 results of the Turkish Super League are reviewed, and there's a rundown of the schedule for week 17. The guys discuss the group stage draw for the Turkish Cup. This week's discussion of news includes some transfer moves, and Fenerbahce reportedly selling off the naming rights to Sukru Saracoglu stadium. Also featured is a discussion on Kasimpasa's billionaire backers, which includes a reference to a recent ESPN FC article on the club (which you can find here: http://espnfc.com/blog/_/name/espnfcunited/id/11261), and the potential for disaster should said backers withdraw their support from Kasimpasa.
This week on Turkish Football Weekly, Jeremy is out of the country, so Ata is joined this week by Kaan Bayazit. Week 15 results of the Turkish Super League are reviewed. This includes an analysis of the "eventful" match between Kasimpasa and Besiktas. The opponents for Galatasaray and Trabzonspor in their respective European competitions have been drawn, and the initial prospects of them advancing are debated. The Turkish Cup 5th round came to an end, and the results are reported on. There is a discussion of various issues in the news surrounding Turkish football. One of which are two coaching resignations, one of which might come as a surprise considering how said coach's team has been doing in the league recently, and which will take effect at the end of the first half of the current season. Also, the two hosts delve into a discussion of the aftermath of the Kasimpasa-Besiktas match. The podcast concludes with a discussion on Manuel Fernandes, whose conduct has come into question recently. It's been reported that Fernandes said that he will not play in Turkey again, and the hosts debate his value to Besiktas and whether he should stay or be sold.
This week on Turkish Football Weekly, there's on field action, and court dates to be discussed. The first leg of Trabzonspor's Europa League 2nd qualifying round tie with Irish outfit Derry City is reviewed. News discussed this week includes Besiktas finding a temporary home while Inonu stadium gets rebuilt, Florent Malouda being signed by Trabzonspor, and Orhan Sam's status with Kasimpasa. The main topic of discussion this week centers on the decisions of the UEFA appeals body regarding the bans placed on Fenerbahce and Besiktas, and the Court of Arbitration for Sport enforcing a stay of execution on those bans until the cases are heard at CAS. The podcast concludes with a brief overview of the attendance of the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Turkey.
A slightly shorter version of Turkish Football Weekly is on tap for this week. Week 27 results of the Turkish Super League are reviewed. This includes a discussion of some extracurricular activity during the Kasimpasa-Bursaspor match. The schedule for week 28 is reviewed. Both Galatasaray and Fenerbahce were in European action this past week, with vastly different outcomes for both clubs. The UEFA Champions League quarterfinal 1st leg match between Real Madrid and Galatasaray is discussed. Also reviewed is the UEFA Europa League quarterfinal 1st leg match between Fenerbahce and Lazio (where fans actually showed up in Kadikoy for the match). News this week includes a discussion as to the sanctions handed out as a result of the aftermath of the Kasimpasa-Bursaspor match, and an injury to Hugo Almeida of Besiktas. The podcast concludes with Jeremy's story of him attending a Kasimpasa match a few years back when he lived in Istanbul.
