Bonjour and welcome back to Casser Les Lignes, the French football podcast with the accent with your host, Jeremy Magan. On this episode, Jeremy shared his analysis on: [Ligue 1's Matchday 27] = 10 games on the weekend, 5 away wins OM 2-2 Strasbourg: 10 men OM goes up 2-0 before changing tactics and conceding twice with 3 minutes to go Lille 3-3 Lyon: 6 goals in one half, Lille and Lyon being Lille and Lyon, failing to find consistency in results Brest 1-2 PSG: PSG still reeling from their elimination in UCL needs another prowess from Mbappe at the last minute to get all 3 points. PSG once again only playing for Ligue 1. Something has got to change. Analysis on the rest of games in Ligue 1, with Reims' surprising win in Monaco (their 17th game undefeated) and Lens thrashing Clermont away.
PSG lose Neymar to ankle surgery as they crash out of the UCL to Bayern while former Football Manager player Will Still has led Reims to 18 games unbeaten. Arsenal put on a potential title-winning performance as they beat Bournemouth at the death. Liverpool handed Manchester United their worst loss in EPL history by scoring SEVEN goals, SIX coming in the second 45 minutes. Liverpool have heated up the race for top 4.
Jimbo, James Horncastle, Raphael Honigstein, Julien Laurens and Alvaro Romeo are back together at The Athletic studios in anticipation of some red-hot Champions League second legs. Bayern host PSG with a 1-0 lead but can they contain Kylian Mbappe, PSG's newly crowned all-time top scorer? Especially when Julian Nagelsmann seems to have lost faith in Joao Cancelo. Dortmund travel to Stamford Bridge after securing their 10th win in a row in 2023. They've learned how to play without the ball and the brilliant Julian Brandt is archetypal of the new Dortmund. Spurs welcome Milan to North London for a fixture that's too close to call. Is Rafael Leao due a big performance for the Rossoneri? Domestically, Sevilla are smashed 6-1 by Atletico with Sampaoli and Monchi both under the microscope. And Will Still is still unbeaten in Ligue 1 with Reims. Plus Scott Parker, Piers Morgan and boil-in bag rice. Produced by Charlie Jones. Notre-Dame Cathedral has witnessed more than 850 years of history, though the Cathedral of Reims saw more action from French royals. It was in Reims that most coronations took place though an exception was in 1431 when Henry VI, King of England, was crowned King of France at Notre-Dame.Mary Queen of Scots married Francis II in the Cathedral in 1558. But mostly it was a church for Parisians.Notre-Dame de Paris, the grand Gothic cathedral on the Île de la Cité is a symbol to millions. Not just to Parisians but to many around the world. When in April 2019, a fire broke out at the Cathedral, the world watched as the tragedy unfolded and an outpouring of love for the building showed just how much it means to so many.Is the Cathedral haunted?Could a place so blessed and revered have a darker side?Tombs were uncovered as part of a cache of statues, sculptures and fragments of the cathedral's original 13th-century rood screen buried under the floor of the transept crossing at the heart of the cathedral that was ravaged by fire in April 2019.Maybe this is where some of the apparitions come from?Let's find out who might be haunting one of the most significant gothic Cathedrals in the whole of the world. We would ask that you leave us a review and if you haven't done so yet please SUBSCRIBE.Send us a message as we would love to hear from you.Leave us feedback or a message with what you think is going on here on our Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/TrueHauntingsPodcastIf you have enjoyed this episode please leave us a review and subscribe and share. We would love to hear from you too!Join us on our Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/TrueHauntingsPodcastP.S. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Western Front evokes images of mud-spattered men in waterlogged trenches, shielded from artillery blasts and machine-gun fire by a few feet of dirt. This iconic setting was the most critical arena of the Great War, a 400-mile combat zone stretching from Belgium to Switzerland where more than three million Allied and German soldiers struggled during four years of almost continuous combat. It has persisted in our collective memory as a tragic waste of human life and a symbol of the horrors of industrialized warfare. In this epic narrative history, the first volume in a groundbreaking trilogy on the Great War, the acclaimed military historian Nick Lloyd captures the horrific fighting on the Western Front beginning with the surprise German invasion of Belgium in August 1914 and taking us to the Armistice of November 1918. Drawing on French, British, German, and American sources, Lloyd weaves a kaleidoscopic chronicle of the Marne, Passchendaele, the Meuse-Argonne, and other critical battles, which reverberated across Europe and the wider war. From the trenches, where men as young as 17 suffered and died, to the headquarters behind the lines where Generals Haig, Joffre, Hindenburg, and Pershing developed their plans for battle, Lloyd gives us a view of the war both intimate and strategic, putting us amid the mud and smoke while at the same time depicting the larger stakes of every encounter. He shows us a dejected Kaiser Wilhelm II―soon to be eclipsed in power by his own generals―lamenting the botched Schlieffen Plan; French soldiers piling atop one another in the trenches of Verdun; British infantryman wandering through the frozen wilderness in the days after the Battle of the Somme; and General Erich Ludendorff pursuing a ruthless policy of total war, leading an eleventh-hour attack on Reims even as his men succumbed to the Spanish Flu. 35 black-and-white illustrations, 8 maps
