The Chicago White Sox lost to the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday, 6-5. The White Sox split the two game series with Colorado. The Sox had the lead going into the bottom of the 9th inning. Kendall Graveman came in for the Sox and walked the bases loaded then gave up a walk-off single. The White Sox missed multiple opportunities to score more runs throughout the game and Leury Garcia had one of the worst baserunning mistakes all season long that stranded the bases loaded with AJ Pollock up. White Sox starter, Lucas Giolito, gave up three runs in the first innings but settled down after that. Joe Kelly pitched in the 8th inning but had to leave the game due to an apparent arm injury. The White Sox failed to gain ground in the AL Central and still sit three games back. The Sox are off on Thursday before a three game series with the Oakland Athletics on the South Side of Chicago. The Chicago White Sox have been hitting a lot of home runs lately but had a power outage on Tuesday night. The Sox got some great starting pitching from Michael Kopech and Sox defense turned a season high four double plays to narrowly beat the Colorado Rockies, 2-1. Yasmani Grandal had three hits. Yoan Moncada and AJ Pollock each had an RBI. The White Sox had three doubles and left a lot of runners in scoring position. Jimmy lambert, Joe Kelly, Kendall Graveman and Liam Hendriks all came in to pitch out of the bullpen. The White Sox are finally over .500 for the first time in two months. With the Minnesota Twins losing, they are just three games back in the AL Central. The White Sox go for the quick two game sweep on Wednesday as they send Lucas Giolito to the hill. The Chicago White Sox beat the Cleveland Guardians on Wednesday night, 2-1. White Sox starter, Lucas Giolito, had one of his best outings of the year. He was in control, limited his pitches and got out of several different situations. Reynaldo Lopez, Kendall Graveman and Liam Hendriks were brilliant out of the bullpen. White Sox pitching held the Guardians to just 5 hits. Sox offense did just enough to support their pitching. Many blown opportunities but thankfully the pitching was so stellar. White Sox outfielder, Eloy Jimenez, injured his leg while jogging to catch a routine fly ball. He had to leave the game and hopefully will not be out too long. The White Sox are now in Minnesota where they will begin a crucial four game series with the first place Twins on Thursday night. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Sox scored in the first three innings, then got a three run home run from Luis Robert in the 9th inning to make it, 7-0. White Sox starter, Dylan Cease, had his really good stuff going but could not get out of the 6th inning. Reynaldo Lopez, Kendall Graveman and Matt Foster came in out of the bullpen to finish the job. The Chicago White Sox beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4-0, by getting some outstanding pitching from their starter, Michael Kopech, and excellent help from the bullpen to hold the mighty Dodgers scoreless on Tuesday night. Kopech returned to form and went six innings. He struck out eight and limited the Los Angeles Dodgers to just one hit. Reynaldo Lopez, Aaron Bummer, Kendall Graveman and Liam Hendriks all came in for support. The Chicago White Sox have been getting a lot of their offense from Jake Burger as of late and he did not disappoint on Tuesday. Danny Mendick and Reese McGuire provided clutch hits as the White Sox sent 9 hitters to plate in the 6th inning to score all four of the their runs. The White Sox have now won three straight and look to get back to .500 on Wednesday, when they send Johnny Cueto to the mound. Go Sox. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Jake Burger and Danny Mendick of the Chicago White Sox have been getting opportunities as of of late due to injuries and they made the most of those opportunities this past weekend in Tamp Bay. Both Burger and Mendick, along with Andrew Vaughn, provided an offensive spark against the Rays that helped the White Sox take 2 of 3 games. It was not necessarily pretty but the White Sox got the job done. White Sox starter, Lucas Giolito, was on cruise control until he ran into some problems in the 6th inning of Sunday's series finale. Sox defense did not help matters but relievers Aaron Bummer, Kendall Graveman and Liam Hendriks locked down the win. The Chicago White Sox are two games under .500, chasing the Cleveland Guardians and Minnesota Twins in the AL Central. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Anderson, one of baseball's leading Black voices, hit a home run as Chicago swept a doubleheader at Yankee Stadium. Anderson and Donaldson didn't speak to reporters. Donaldson, who is white, said Saturday he twice called Anderson “Jackie” — as in Robinson, who broke MLB's color barrier in 1947. He said he's used the reference in the past with Anderson, who said he viewed himself as a potential modern-day Robinson in a 2019 interview with Sports Illustrated. Verily, the eight-game debacle has ended, and there is victory in the land once again! And, by golly, SSS duty geezer Leigh Allan and his son and west coast correspondent, Will, leap to the world of the pods immediately after the aforementioned victory to rejoice. Among the rejoicees is, of course, Dylan Cease, who pitched five brilliant innings vs. the Royals and one not-so-brilliant one, demonstrating once again (a) that he completely dominates bad teams, and (b) that he still can be shaken and lose his concentration over just about anything that goes wrong, in this case a dribbler that broke up his mid-range no-hitter. Will is a big observer of Cease's errant footwork once Dylan's been discombobulated, as was very much the case in the streak-ending game, and makes a wavy demonstration of the unfortunate angle Cease's toes take when disturbed. The conversation then wends its way to other pitchers, from the morass in which Aaron Bummer finds himself (second lefty banana to Bennett Sousa, oh, shame!), the heights to which Kendall Graveman has soared, and the bizarre pitch-tipping that has become the wont of Liam Hendriks. On to the position players, trying to ignore the sorry state of most of the lineup, which has led the White Sox to the very pits of of MLB offensively, there is instead long lament about the ignominious state of the White Sox defense, woeful as it is except for the nice addition of Reese McGuire, which leads to many a word of what could possibly be done to cope with the fact the team is comprised nowadays of an abundance of designated hitters, most of whom must, alas, play in the field. And, of course, the obligatory pining over the fact that some for whom defense is a strength remain injured. But mostly, we celebrate the end of winter, except for the weather part, and gaze longingly forward to when the spring might arrive, both literally and figuratively. Learn more about your ad choices. Kendall Graveman played a key role pitching for the Houston Astros as they made it all the way to the 2021 World Series. That success came after a long, hard road and mostly by trusting in and surrendering to the Lord. Kendall had to battle injuries and surgeries, a benign bone tumor, getting sent down to the minors, and fighting for a spot to get back on an MLB team. He found success through "diligent, anonymous hours of hard work," but he knows none of it would have been possible without his relationship with God.
