Lima tells us how bad the injury has gotten for Baker Mayfield and how this could become a week-to-week injury where he won't be healthy the rest of this season.  If the Browns sit Baker when he's healthy because Keenum plays well, Lima believes it could create problems in the locker room that would potentially derail this season.  Lima describes the Browns fan as very down right now.  All that being said, Lima expects a victory tonight because of the dominance of the Browns defensive line. New York Giants vs. Cleveland Browns Pick Prediction 8/22/2021 by Tony T. Giants at Browns—NFL pick is Cleveland Browns -4. Prefer the quarterback rotation of the Browns in Baker Mayfield, Case Keenum and Kyle Lauletta. Both Keenum and Lauletta have seen NFL regular season action. Keenum nine years in the league and Lauletta is fifth training camp. They beat Jacksonville 23-13 in their opener as Keenum and Lauletta combined for 31 of 44 for 319 yards with two touchdowns. Giants rotation is Daniel Jones, Mike Glennon and Brian Lewerke. The former Spartan Lewerke was signed this week as the team waved Clayton Thorson. Cleveland Browns vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Pick Prediction 8/14/2021 by Tony T. Browns at Jaguars—NFL pick is Jacksonville Jaguars -2.5. Much anticipated debut for head coach Urban Meyer and his first round pick in Trevor Lawrence. Meyer's rotation at quarterback is Trevor Lawrence, Gardner Minshew, C.J. Beathard and Jake Luton. Minshew was last year's starter and Beathard has NFL playing experience. For Cleveland the rotation is Baker Mayfield, Case Keenum and Kyle Lauletta. Don't expect to see much of Mayfield or even Keenum. Lauletta figures to get a long look in the second half. This if the free preseason for both teams. Meyer would be motivated to get a win here for the home folks in his first home game which is a good angle in preseason. Play Jacksonville -2.5.

Teams sign backup QB's all the time - But it's rare to see a team sign a quarterback to a 3 year backup deal. It's rare to see it because QB's are always fighting to be the starter. So why would Keenum marry the Browns for three seasons to be the backup. Maybe he has been told something differently behind the scenes? Why else would Keenum, a guy who has had success as a starter through out his career, accept a backup role for three seasons? It's probably because he feels that a chance to be the starter is closer than many think.

He also explains Case Keenum's strengths and gives his answer for who he'd start as of now, and it might just surprise you. Eventually, JP steers things toward Donald Penn and what kind of solution he could provide the offense. You also get a PODCAST PARTY ANNOUNCEMENT. You've been waiting for your daily Richmond pods, and this is your first one featuring an in-depth practice report, so let's get to it. JP Finlay, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey are joined by Yahoo senior NFL writer Kimberley Martin, and the four have a lot of fun giving you the scoop on the Redskins' opening practice. To start, they get Kim's thoughts on Trent Williams, which eventually leads to a strong point by JP on the entire matter. Then, they dissect the beginning of the QB battle (15:16), explaining the splitting of reps and informing you how Haskins, McCoy and Keenum all looked. Next, they analyze the day's standouts and finish with their "One Thing" segment, which features thoughts on Morgan Moses and Josh Harvey Clemons, among others. What comes next is JP's fun 1-on-1 with Landon Collins (31:20), where the safety talks about the season's expectations and takes a nice jab at his old franchise.
