Are you fed up with small portion sizes? Does the label “gluten-free” make you sick? Do you want your arteries clogged with grease? If you answered yes to all 3 questions, then grab your stretchy pants and defibrillator because we've got a reservation at The Heart Attack Grill! It's a hospital-themed restaurant where nurses serve you humongous burgers deep fried in lard and then spank you if you fail to clean your plate. The owner, who calls himself Dr. Jon, proudly admits that his food will kill you. And he ain't kiddin'! Several loyal customers have dined and died there over the years. That's not only a fact, it's a selling point. But despite the grim prognosis, business is booming. It's become a kind of high calorie curiosity in Las Vegas. The very picture of American excess. Christina Harris is found dead by a neighbor. Harris' cause of death was initially ruled accidental by the medical examiner's office after a blood sample tested positive for opiates, but her family is adamant Christina did not use drugs. The family even insisted officers test her frozen breast milk to prove it. Harris was still breastfeeding an infant. Police ultimately arrest husband Jason Harris for poisoning his wife's cereal. Harris has now lost his appeal bid. 5:30 p.m. April 2: Cudahy Police respond to reports of human remains found along Lake Michigan. At Warnimont Park, cops recover a severed human leg. Three days later, Milwaukee police find another unspecified human body part at a playground 11 miles away. A third set of unidentified human remains are recovered from a park just blocks from the previous discovery. In the meantime, Sade Carleena Robinson, 19, is reported ‘critically missing' by Milwaukee Police on April 1 when she fails to show up for a shift at Pizza Shuttle. Robinson's mother, Sheena Scarbrough, says Robinson texted her that afternoon to ask for money, which Scarbrough says is very unusual for Robinson. The next morning, police respond to reports of a car fire near 30th Street and Lisbon, 2 miles from Robinson's home. Fire investigators determined no one was inside the car, but family members identified the car as belonging to Sade. Sade Robinson's family joins the searches near the playground over the weekend. While police find unidentified human remains, Robinson's family discovers a blanket belonging to Sade. The distinct pink blanket pictures Sade with her beloved dog, Coco Chanel, who passed away. As more human remains are discovered, the family is losing hope Sade will be found alive. Authorities descend on a home 8 miles away in West Milwaukee. Investigators spend more than 24 hours searching the upper unit of the duplex, reportedly discovering blood in the stairwell and on a comforter. The homeowner is detained in connection with the remains found. Milwaukee Sheriffs reveal Maxwell Anderson remains in custody as a person of interest connected to the remains found along Lake Michigan. Anderson has not yet been criminally charged but does have a rap sheet. Anderson has several convictions including disorderly conduct, domestic abuse, and DUI over the last 10 years. In two incidents, Anderson became violent with relatives, and in a third, beat a stranger who intervened in an argument between Anderson and a woman. Anderson is said to work as a bartender for several establishments in the Milwaukee area. On Tuesday November 7, Sam Haskell IV, hires a couple day laborers to take 3 bags of rocks to to the dump. The bags don't feel like rocks, they feel like meat. A block away from Haskell's home the men open a bag. Seeing a belly button, the men returned the bags and the money to Haskell who claims they saw Halloween props. The workers go to the police to tell their story, but end up having to call 911 from the parking lot of the police station. By the time cops get to Haskell's place to investigate, Haskell is gone and so are the supposed bags of body parts. An investigation starts. The next morning at 6:15 am a 911 call comes in from a homeless man who was dumpster diving when he finds a has headless body. The headless torso of a female identified after an autopsy, confirmed to be the wife of Sam Haskell IV. According to the autopsy report whoever did this "dismembered torso with a single sharp force injury at the base of the anterior neck. No fatal injuries were found on the torso. The report further states Haskell's "head, majority of the neck, and majority of all four extremities" as absent and the "amputation sites" as "remarkably smooth" which suggests a sharp power tool was likely used. One of the most shocking facts found in the autopsy report is that Mei Haskell may have been alive when her head was severed from her torso. According to the autopsy report "there was no definite indication that dismemberment occured antemortem." However, "the possibility that the head and neck removal was initiated prior to death cannot be entirely excluded." New claims have surfaced that Delphi murder victim Libby German was almost decapitated by her killer. What's more, some are questioning whether the real killer is behind bars. When the girls' bodies were first found on property owned by Ron Logan, he became suspect. Police served search warrants on his property and took away his Ford Pickup truck for processing. Logan was also arrested at that time on a probation violation. Ron Logan claims he was not at home when the kidnapping and murders happened, but was 20-miles away buying tropical fish in Lafayette. Logan says he got home around 6:30 in the evening and neighbors asked for permission to look on the property for the girls. Logan was questioned by detectives at length, but ultimately police let him go and moved on to other potential suspects. A shocked courtroom heard Derek Rosa tell police he stabbed his mother to death in her sleep as his baby sister slept next to her in the bed. After hearing the teen's taped confession, Miami Dade Circuit Judge Richard Hersch rejects a defense motion to move Rosa out of the adult jail and into a juvenile facility. The defense says it is unconstitutional to keep Rosa in an adult cell, claiming he is being kept in unsustainable conditions and is only allowed outside the cell for 20 hours a week. The judge rejected the motion and orders Rosa to be held in the Miami-Dade Metro West Detention Center until his as yet unscheduled trial begins. Reportedly , the night Derek Rosa stabs his mother to death, he makes six Google searches including : “What is the best place to stab someone?” Is a small knife good for killing?” “Is it easier to kill someone with a small knife?” “Can a knife cut through bone?” and a request for an image of The Carotid Artery diagram. The Daily Mail reports the last search made that night was to inquire about a machine gun. Derek Rosa claims in a police interview that his stepfather owns two guns and he planned to shoot himself after the stabbing but didn't go through with it. Empire co-star Jussie Smollett gets released from jail while attorneys appealed his conviction for lying to police about a hate crime attack. Smollett's attorneys arguing that he would complete the sentence by the time the process was completed. They also cited homophobic threats received by the actor in their request for emergency release. The special prosecutor responded to the motion by saying it was “factually incorrect.” Two of the three members of the appellate court agreed with Smollett's attorneys. Well, an appeals court upheld Smollett's disorderly conduct convictions. He now will have to finish his 150-day incarceration part of his sentence. Jillian Ludwig kicks off her freshman year at Nashville's Bellmont University. In her first weeks, she settles into a routine that includes putting her musical talents to work and enjoying the great doors. Ludwig is walking on the track in Edgehill Community Memorial Gardens Park at 2:30 pm when gunshots ring out from across the street. Jillian Ludwig is not the intended target, but she is hit in the head with a stray bullet. Nobody else is on the track, and Ludwig suffers for nearly an hour before she is found on the ground with the gunshot wound to the head. She is transported to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in very critical condition. As Jillian Ludwig fights for her life in Vanderbilt University Medical Center, police arrest 29-year-old Shaquille Taylor. Surveillance video and witness statements point to Taylor as the shooter. Video shows Ludwig falling as Taylor shoots at a car. He's charged with aggravated assault, evidence tampering, and failure to appear on a different felony charge. Taylor is someone well known to Nashville's law enforcement community. His record stretches back more than a decade. His latest arrest was on September 21. Taylor was driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck that had been carjacked by two men wearing ski masks on September 16. Taylor did not admit to being involved in the carjacking in any way but he was charged with felony auto theft and was released on a bond. Taylor was due in court just days before the shooting of Jillian Ludwig but he failed to show up. Despite multiple arrests, Taylor had been released from custody after three court-appointed psychologists deemed him incompetent to stand trial, and also found he didn't pose an imminent threat to himself or others. According to court records, Shaquille Taylor has an intellectual disability and language impairment, With that determination, it means he isn't able to participate in a trial. Sherri Papini admits her 2016 kidnapping was a hoax, pleading guilty. The 39-year-old, sentenced to 18 months in prison, has been released into a residential management program. Her official release date is in October. The mom was reported missing and told investigators when she was found 22 days later that a pair of Hispanic women kidnapped her at gunpoint. Papini said her kidnappers abused her and then shoved her out of a car. Papini was emaciated, her hair was cut shorter, and she had cuts and bruises all over her body, but prosecutors said she caused the injuries herself. The case was broken in 2020 when DNA led investigators to Papini's ex, who told them she had been with him the entire time. Federal prosecutors charged Papini with 34 counts of mail fraud and one count of making false statements. Papini accepted a plea deal, but didn't explain why she created an elaborate kidnapping hoax, although she apologized for her actions. Panini's story began to unravel when investigators found male DNA on her clothing that led them to her ex-boyfriend, whom she had been staying with while she pretended to be missing. He dropped her off along Interstate 5 when she said she wanted to go back home. Investigators said that the former boyfriend said that Papini had asked him to hit her but he refused. Instead, he agreed to hold a hockey stick for her to run into and pelted her with hockey pucks. He also said he branded her at her request. The search continues for Danelo Cavalante. The convicted killer escaped from Chester County Prison by scaling a wall and ducking under barbed wire. Tennessee prosecutors are seeking the death penalty Cleotha Abston, also known as Cleotha Henderson. He is charged with kidnapping and killing Memphis teacher Eliza Fletcher. Fletcher went missing while out on her morning run. Neighborhood video captured imaged of Fletcher being forced into an SUV. The kindergarten teacher's body was found days later near vacant house less than a mile from the kidnapping site. Officers combing the area noticed footprints, tire tracks and “an odor of decay.” A pair of purple Lululemon running shorts matching what Fletcher was last seen wearing, was found in a nearby trash can. Abston, 39, is also charged in the rape of a woman in September 2021, but he was not arrested until after Fletcher's killing because the state crime lab hadn't gotten around to processing the sexual assault kit. Abston has pled not guilty. Graduation was just a few days away when a 23-year-old Pennsylvania coed when missing. Chloe Stein was last seen leaving her job at a Sonic restaurant in Hempfield Township. Her boyfriend received a text that night saying she was being pulled over, but she wasn't seen or heard from again. Police issued a Missing Endangered Person Advisory for her. Two days later State Police received a tip that Stein was at a home in Jeannette. She was found safe. She told police that she was abducted at gunpoint by a man in a mask and was later released. Breanna Wood is last seen at a convenience mart, after texting her mother she was on her way home. When she doesn't show, her mother, Fallon, files a missing person report. Months later, Breanna Wood's dismembered body is found inside a two-foot square box. Seven people are charged in the case. Not all of those charged have yet to see a jury, but as the cases are being prepped Nueces County First Asst. District Attorney, Angelica Hernandez, came to Fallon Wood for help sorting through pre-trial evidence in the case against the man accused of actually murdering Breanna. Wood was put into a room with boxes of evidence related to her daughter's case, including crime scene photos. For three days, Wood sat on the floor sorting all the interviews, photos, and more. Some videos Wood was allowed to take home. The family's access to the evidence creates many problems. Claims of tampering could be levied and could lead to Fallon Wood being disqualified as a witness in her daughter's murder. The former public official charged in the death of Las Vegas Review-Journal Investigative Reporter Jeff German now says he's being framed. Robert Telles called KLAS-TV asking for an interview to make his claims. German was found stabbed dead outside his home. Days later, cops release surveillance video of a possible suspect in a wide-brimmed straw hat, an orange safety shirt, and black pants walking near the scene. More investigation revealed that German's reporting put him at odds with Telles. German reported that Telles created a toxic work environment and was having an extra-marital affair with an employee. These claims seem to have cost Telles his re-election bid. Investigators searched Robert Telles' home, towing a red SUV, and finding shoes with apparent blood on them. A straw hat matching the one shown in the video was also found. Both articles had been cut up in an effort to destroy evidence, but DNA under German's fingernails told police everything they needed to know.
