Struggling to read in the 5th grade, ST Rappaport went to tutor after tutor but still remained stuck. As a last resort, a cognitive function specialist was brought in. Not only did ST's reading improve, so did her confidence, her productivity, and so much more. She was blown away by the success of rewiring her brain and knew it was something she had to be involved in. At the age of 17 she started training in cognitive function. Now, at the age of 23, she's a successful productivity coach helping entrepreneurs to rewire their brains for efficiency and effectiveness. For anyone that hasn't read the book The Growth Mindset by Helen Glasgow, ST highly recommends it. The book dives into what makes people successful, and, spoiler alert, it isn't money, IQ, or anything of that sort. Success lies in a person's mindset. They can either have a fixed mindset, or a growth mindset. Developing a growth mindset is the first step to success. ST helps people to do this through her LifePix University. She promises the experience to be 100% customized to each individual person and what they're trying to achieve. Beyond that, ST hosts a podcast by the same name. What You'll Learn: How many cognitive functions there are. How to overcome obstacles. Why who you surround yourself with matters. And much more! Favorite Quote: “If you want to be successful at anything, that's literally the first thing you have to do, is develop that growth mindset.” -ST Rappaport How to Connect With ST: LifePix University Instagram TikTok ______________________________________________________________________ How To Get Involved: Matthew Meehan and Luigi Rosabianca possess, between them, a treasure trove of insight and strategic advice for ambitious business owners. Practicing Lean changes your brain. Do you agree? I know for me, repeating the patterns of the Plan-Do-Check-Act, or the pattern of the improvement kata, and because of using and adapting lean tools, I think very differently from the way I used to think. This conversation with ST Rappaport illuminated what cognitive functions we are improving when we practice Lean thinking, and why that practice works. I think you will be as fascinated as I was when you meet her. About ST RAPPAPORT ST is a productivity coach, who like many people, struggled to be more efficient and effective - until, she says, she changed the way her brain is wired. Now she helps others, through her organization, LifePix University. LifePix University helps growing entrepreneurs solve their core problems so they can become more efficient and effective in their personal and professional life. KEY TOPICS IN THIS PODCAST: ST's career background How did she get into teaching about the growth mindset? What is Feuerstein's Method? How does Feuerstein's Method help ST with her reading difficulties? The connection between a Growth Mindset with Feuerstein's Method Cognitive function explained How cognitive deficiencies affect people's emotions KEY TAKEAWAYS A growth mindset is a belief that abilities and intelligence can be developed with effort and practice. This mindset is in contrast to a fixed mindset, which is the belief that abilities are set in stone and cannot be changed. Practicing lean thinking may be a way for people to develop their cognitive functions. Reuven Feuerstein's method is a cognitive intervention program. The goal of the program is to improve cognitive functioning in individuals with brain injuries and other cognitive impairments. Cognitive function refers to the ability to think, learn and remember. It is a broad term that encompasses many different mental processes, including attention, planning, problem-solving, decision-making, and working memory. Understanding how your brain works can help you to learn new things more easily and to use your strengths to your advantage. Memorable Quotes From ST Rappaport “ Time-saving was the best thing. This is part of the challenge with cognitive functions because we're so used to doing it the same way. We think this is the right way and this is the best way to do it. “ CONNECT WITH ST RAPPAPORT https://www.lifepixuniversity.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/st-rappaport-869b7619b/ https://www.instagram.com/lifepixphotography/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqwMNmGg9DS0ebpDZZ-Ff3A https://www.tiktok.com/@lifepixuniversity

Welcome to another episode of the LifePix UniversityPodcast! In this episode, ST is joined by Kai Jordan and Gabriella Artini, as they share about their blended family. Their relationship started through a workshop they both attended in Spain. Kai lived in Canada back then while Gabriella lived in Bali and by some unlikely chance of meeting as they both decided to join this workshop last minute. They immediately felt the connection but they made sure to take their time to get to know each other better first. Other than the connection they felt and the synchronicity of the chances that pushed their relationship further, it was their acceptance of each other, being open to changes and circumstances, and making sure that love is in the middle of everything. In this episode, you'll learn: ● Being open and respectful to your partner's circumstances ● How to turn your relationship into a space for expression ● Desiring to be aligned with someone helps with synchronicity ● Importance of not imposing an idea or image towards your partner ● How building yourself helps build the foundations of marriage ● And many more! Susan and Clark were married in 1985, three months after they met. Six weeks after the wedding, Susan's daughter was taken away by social services and Clark was accused of sexually molesting Susan's 9-year-old daughter from her first marriage. Susan was told she had to force Clark to move out and support the allegation or she would never get her daughter back. The situation went from bad to worse to truly bizarre. Most relationships would not have withstood the stress, but instead of caving to the pressure, Susan and Clark fought back against the system, became activists, and started a national movement for family preservation. Thirty-six years later, they are still together living live in the country outside a small town in north Texas with their four chihuahuas. Their story is told in Susan's recently released book Wheels of Injustice: Saving My Child from the Child Savers. There are 3 phases of thinking: 1. Input - how we take in the information 2. Elaboration - how we process the information 3. Output - how we let the world know what we know. Each person has a phase that they're better at and a phase that they have harder time with. What's that for you? Work closely with ST to rewire your brain with these 3 phases at: LifePix University
What's it going to take to really have that deep, loving, connection in your marriage? It's not doing fun things together, helping each other out throughout the day or even dates. Yes, those things will bond you but to take it one step further, you've got to start having those raw, honest conversations. Yes, they are uncomfortable. Yes, they are vulnerable. Yes, they may bring pain, tears and facts that you wish to be in denial about. As you have these difficult conversations more often, I don't know if they will become easier for you but they will bring you closer, make you stronger, help you grow and develop a deeper love for each other. (They may even become addicting!) Jacqui and Stephen are the prefect example of couple who have learned how to be comfortable with the uncomfortable. They have navigated many challenges throughout their relationship from addictions to mental health issues and have learned the value of open, honest communication which has been the pillar for their successful relationship. Their relationship continues to grow from strength to strength due to their willingness to provide open, safe spaces for each other to navigate their childhood traumas. They are more in love today than they were when they first met. Jacqui and Stephen have been together for over 25 years and have 2 amazing children aged 24 and 21. They first met at a holiday park whereby Stephen knew immediately that they were made for each other. They believe the key to them having a long relationship is the power of open, honest, forgiving conversations. Each new breakthrough deepens their love and spiritual connection. (I'm in agreement with them on that one!) Fun Fact: Professor Reuven Feuerstein (who's program LifePix University is based on) spoke about the concept of neuroplasticity in the 50s and 60s when it only became socially accepted in the 90s! Neuroplasticity is the brains a building to grow new neuron connections. This means at any age or stage of you life you can learn something new and change the way your brain is wired. You can destroy old pathways and build the ones you like. How cool is that?! After being stuck in bed for three years, Ben used the power of neuroplasticity to change the stress response to improve health & emotional regulation. Yes, that is possible. All it takes is changing the neuron connections in your brain. 3 Steps to making the change: 1)Being conscious and aware. As always;) 2) Interrupting the pattern 3) Build a new response Ben spent the past 10 years working with some of the world's top doctors and neuroscientists to understand how people truly heal and grow, both individually as well as in relationships. He also gave a popular TED talk where he discussed his own personal healing journey, recovering from chronic Lyme disease. And most recently, Ben formed "The Brain Trust" a Co-founded "re-origin" - which is a science-based, self-directed neuroplasticity program and community which teaches individuals how to retrain their brains, regulate the stress response, and return to feeling like themselves again.
