Episode 672. This is a great episode for you to play along with us. Mark comes up with a topic at the very last minute… pick three songs that best represent KISS from each era of the band… but, you can only pick one song from an album. First we start with deciding what the eras are, it is more than just makeup and no makeup. It is more than just originals and replacements. Let us know if you agree with the eras we defined and of course let us know what you think of the songs each of us select. This should be good for some discussions. Episode 667. Ken Nardi is back! This episode he talks about his brand new remix of KISS ROCK AND ROLL OVER. WOW! This release is pretty amazing! From Ken, “Basic changes are that I added a bit of grit to the bass to make it closer to Gene’s live sound, removed some of the reverb from the vocals, compressed the guitars to enhance the distortion a little and added a few accents drum accents and cymbals to some songs to make them more dynamic and more like the way Peter played them live. All-in-all, it’s probably as close to a real remix as possible without access to the actual multitrack tapes. This album was a return to form after the more “experimental” DESTROYER album and represents KISS just after gaining super-star status. Some fans find certain arrangements to be a little “rushed” not unlive DRESSED TO KILL, which makes sense considering the pace and frequency the band were releasing new material at that time. I have used some “artistic freedom” to replace the fade-outs on almost every song with hard endings or extended fades to let everyone hear all of the improvised playing and singing that was hidden in those fades. All of these changes come at the end of the songs, so hopefully it will not take away from the main song arrangements. There are a few more easter eggs as well like Paul’s “Take Me” count-in from the demo, Gene’s backing vocals from the “Baby Driver” demo, Paul’s live backing vocals on “Hard Luck Woman”, a bit of Paul’s electric guitar blended in on “I Want You” along with the extended riff before the solo and more. The biggest changes are to the song “See You In Your Dreams”. Gene has always said this song didn’t really turn out how he had imagined it and even re-recorded it for his solo album less than 2 years later. For this version I have combined elements of both along with some added hand claps and percussion to give it more of a “gospel revival” feel which I think maybe gene was going for on his solo album. I have also incorporated the intro from his solo album version and used his solo album vocals to extend the 2nd verse and some other changes Gene made for that recording. If this doesn’t suit your taste, I have also included the original arrangement as a bonus track.” Three Sides of the Coin has moved to its own YouTube Channel, don't miss any future episodes click the link below and click SUBSCRIBE… so easy! So much happened to KISS between the years 1979 and 1981. Dynasty in 79, Unmasked in 80 and Music from the Elder and Killers in 81. Then there is lineup changes. Peter Criss is out Eric Carr is in. Ace Frehley is getting ready to leave. You could right a paper on the music changes, and even the way the band looked went through a huge change. This could be the most controversial era for the band. Fans started to think the band left the KISS ARMY behind. Let's look at this era and talk about the music the look and the attitude of the era.
This week we had Peter Criss on the show and we had a BLAST! We talked about his NEW RECORD and some old ones as well. The Kennedy Honors came up as well ans so much more so check it out!

Beat Migs!! Steve and Taryn play a brain game that involves a Love Gun. Find out what we mean only on the Daly Migs Show!
This week Tom & Zeus review the 1977 Love Gun which was in support of their 6th studio album, Love Gun. This is SIOL's 11th KISS tour reviewed. Love Gun was released on June 17, 1977 and the tour began on July 8, 1977 in Canada and ended September 5, 1977. This is probably KISS at its peak. The band was still continuing to get bigger and better. This is before the solo albums, before the movie and before the major cracks began to take its toll. The stage for the tour is probably the most famous, with the staircases and Peter's drum riser. The costumes are probably KISS' most famous as well. The setlist featured 5 new songs from Love Gun and many of the classic songs from the first three albums, including Deuce were dropped. As usual, the guys breakdown the costumes, stage, set list and overall tour. They then rank the costumes, stage, set list and overall tour against the previous 10 tours reviewed so far. So pull out your Love Gun and enjoy KISS at its peak and another great tour episode! In a brief, yet explosive, four-year period, KISS transformed from a struggling New York City club band into a global phenomenon. Fresh off the success of a People's Choice Award (“Beth”) and rigorous touring cycles (including a series of record-breaking shows at Budokan), the band's larger-than-life aesthetic and stadium-shaking sound were fully realized by 1977. The commercial and pop-culture dominance of KISS was further cemented with the release of their platinum-selling 6th album, Love Gun.Produced by the iconic Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones), Love Gun captures the personas of all four members with riff-heavy jams like “I Stole Your Love” and “Shock Me,” the bonafide hard rock anthems like “Love Gun,” and even ‘60s inspired R&B tracks like “Tomorrow and Tonight” and “Then She Kissed Me.”Joining us this week is legendary Rwake vocalist and KISS superfan, Christoper Terry, for a deep into the band and their rock 'n' roll opus!Follow RwakeFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/RwakeBand/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/rwakeband/?hl=enFollow Riff WorshipInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/riffworshippod/Twitter: https://x.com/RiffWorshipPodYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@RiffWorshipPodCheck out our Official Playlists:Riffs on Repeat (Spotify)Riffs on Repeat (YouTube Music)Hits from the Crypt (Apple)

Send Steve a Text MessageWhat does it really take to build a sustainable career in music while maintaining your sanity and relationships? In this revealing episode, Steve Stine pulls back the curtain on his musical journey and sets the record straight about a common misconception."I do not own Guitar Zoom. I have never owned Guitar Zoom," Steve clarifies early in our conversation. Working for Dan Denley's company for 15 years as a content creator has been just one chapter in Steve's multifaceted career. From his first transformative encounter with Kiss's "Love Gun" album as a child to teaching over 100 private students weekly in his twenties, Steve's path has been defined by both passion and overwhelming commitment. The heart of this episode explores the breaking point that changed everything. While juggling teaching positions at a Montessori school, a rock academy, and a college—plus playing in touring bands—Steve found himself burning out. His wife was "running ragged" managing their daughter's activities while he was perpetually absent. When Guitar Zoom offered him a chance to consolidate his career, Steve made the difficult choice to step away from his numerous commitments. "It was the first time I think I've ever just sat in silence and had a moment of peace," he reflects on that transition. Now at 55, with a grandchild and decades of experience behind him, Steve has found a delicate balance between his love for playing, teaching, and his commitment to faith and family. His story offers valuable perspective for musicians at any stage who struggle with the tension between creative fulfillment and personal wellbeing. Whether you're starting your musical journey or reconsidering your own work-life balance, Steve's candid reflections provide both inspiration and practical wisdom. This week Tom & Zeus open Shout It Out Loudcast's Season 7 by reviewing the 1977 legendary live album, KISS Alive II! KISS was perhaps at highest peak in 1977, commercially and musically. They decided to follow the same formula as they did previously. So after Alive, they released three more studio album and now they wanted to release their second live album, KISS Alive II! This live album would not have any songs from the previous live album, so KISS Alive II would not be an actual real concert. The new songs from Destroyer, Rock And Roll Over & Love Gun would only make up 3 sides, so the band decided to add 5 new tracks to complete the double album. The cover of KISS Alive II is known for the images of the band members, the inserts and perhaps the greatest gatefold in vinyl history. For many in the KISS Army this album was the album that solidified their KISS fandom. Fans are often split between Alive vs Alive II. This is SIOL's 10th live album review. The guy's breakdown the album, the tracks and of course Paul Stanley's stage banter as well. They list their top 5 favorite live tracks and rank the cover and the album against the 7 live albums by KISS that were previously reviewed. They also rank the 5 new tracks as well. This episode is filled with rankings, bold claims and analysis done SIOL style. So alright Love Gun!
