In April, 2019 Tottenham Hotspur football club opened a new £1 billion state-of-the-art stadium, built on top of the old White Hart Lane ground in North London. One of the sports business stories since then has been the club's aspiration to deliver a naming rights sponsorship deal that surpasses those traditionally seen in Europe. Reports in media outlets claim the club is looking to strike a deal in the region of £25 million a year. Since then the club is augmented the stadium's content offering by securing long-term partnerships with the NFL and Formula One, aswell as music and boxing promoters. In doing so the club has created a venue that offers premium year round content.Four years on though, the club has not secured a naming rights partner. But they remain resolute in securing a deal that's aligned to their original target. So what is the Tottenham stadium worth? What do you buy when you buy a naming rights deal and how does it differ from other forms of sponsorship? Helping us fund an answer to these questions is Dan Gaunt, General Manager of Turnstile, the global market leader in the provision of fair market price sponsorship valuations. With Dan is Adam Mitchell, Chief Executive of the sponsorship decision-making organisation Sponsor Pulse This podcast coincides with the launch of a new report into stadium naming rights from Turnstile that's available via turnstilegroup.com.Unofficial Partner is the leading podcast for the business of sport. It's a long-debated subject among Doctor Who fans: Who counts as a companion? It used to be that traveling in the TARDS, typically across different stories, meant you made the list — and might even end up in a support group years later with Kate Stewart et al. But a mere TARDIS ride is too low a bar: Does that mean the policemen in Black Orchid are companions? You could say you need to be in more than one story, but then Astrid and Sara Kingdom are out. And what about “bad” TARDIS passengers like Turlough and Adam Mitchell? What's clearly called for is a new system for deciding who is an official companion and who isn't. Luckily, we've got one! Inspired by a recent trip to the DMV, where certain types of personal identification count for more than others, the Pull To Open Companion System awards a character a Companion badge only if they earn a certain number of points. They can earn points by achieving specific goals as they adventure with the Doctor, but only once per goal — think of each as an “achievement unlocked.” Once you get 10 points, you get the label. Here are the goals, and the points earned for each: a) Explicit invitation accepted (e.g. Rose, Turlough): 10 points b) Companion invitation: 5 points c) Take a trip in the TARDIS: 4 points d) In more than 1 story: 4 points e) Travel in time: 2 points f) Name in opening credits (new series): 2 points g) Face or eyes in opening credits: 8 points h) Evil/working against the Doctor: –6 points And here's where various characters land: TURLOUGH: 10(a)+4(c)+4(d)+2(e)-6(h) = 14 ✅ BRIGADIER: 4(c)+4(d)+2(e) = 10 ✅ KATE STEWART: 4(d) = 4 ❌ BRIAN: 4(c)+4(d)+2(e) = 10 ✅ ADAM MITCHELL: 5(b)+4(c)+4(d)+2(e)-6(h) = 9 ❌ SARA KINGDOM: 4(c)+2(e) = 6 ❌ POLICE FROM BLACK ORCHID: 4(c) = 4 ❌ ASTRID: 10(a)+2(f) = 12 ✅ LADY CHRISTINA: 2(f) = 2 ❌ MISSY: 10(a)+4(b)+4(d)+2(e)-6(h) = 14 ✅ Who makes the cut might not be what you expect, and there are arguably some bold exclusions and inclusions, but generally this feels in the right direction, if not right. What do you think of our system? Where does it need refinement? Please reach out via a review or on social media (links below), and let's perfect the system! For 20 years, Adam Mitchell has been dreaming of a multifamily portfolio. But without the confidence or the know-how to invest in apartments, he started with single family. A decade ago, Adam joined forces with his friend Lance Doty, and they became the Home Buying Guys, scaling a successful single family investing business that runs on autopilot. But in 2021, Adam took action on his vision of moving into the multifamily space and invited Lance to join him in the transition. They became the Apartment Buying Guys, and within 35 days, they had 225 units under contract. In just 10 months, Adam and Lance have raised over $2M and acquired 731 units. Both have achieved financial freedom, and they are well on their way to the goal of 1,000 doors in five years. On this episode of Financial Freedom with Real Estate Investing, Adam and Lance join Garrett and me to explain why it took them so long to make the move to multifamily and how they overcame their lack of experience to break into the space. Adam and Lance discuss the value of hiring a mentor, describing how they might have accelerated their journey by getting support sooner and why they're focusing on scale from Day One. Listen in for insight on what makes Lance and Adam's partnership work and learn how to make the leap from single family to apartment building investing—and achieve financial freedom in three years or less! As a result, Pete Tessier has been released from his role with immediate effect. “$#^$! you guys” said Pete. London was calling at 10:00 pm UK time when the Digital Insurance Pint Podcast team jumped across the pond for our podcast with the man nicknamed Duke. Theo Duchen, like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and every other great tech entrepreneur, started Acturis in his basement 20 years ago. Fast forward to today, and Acturis has over 870 employees and does business in 6 countries. Theo, over the last 20 years, has been co-CEO with his business partner David McDonald and they have successfully made this work. To top all this off, his Favorite Canadian Singer is Alanis Morisset, isn't that ironic. Over a good Camden pale Ale, we discussed with Theo the following items: We unpack why Acturis bought Zycomp Systems (Power broker), the 2nd biggest BMS in Canada and what they were planning on doing with it in 2021 and beyond. We discover how their multi-tenant SAAS platform is loved by small brokers, big brokers, consolidators, aggregators, MGA's, insurers and broker networks. We learn they are one of the world's only vendors who do 50% of their transactions through electronic trading. We dig into why Acturis has Phil Colin's invisible touch with carrier connectivity and have a stranglehold on connectivity in the UK. We discuss electronic trading and broking in a box. In true Alanis style, the digital insurance pint Podcast team of Tom Reid, Steve Earle, Adam Mitchell, and Jeff Roy discuss everything; you Oughta know about Acturis. Listen and determine if Acturis will become the Jagged little pill that catapults the Canadian broker distribution channel to the next level in connectivity and customer experience. This week Tom & Zeus review the 14th studio album from KISS, the 1987 keyboard heavy, "Crazy Nights." The album went platinum and was the highest charting KISS album in the 1980's landing at number 18 on the US Billboard charts. This is the 2nd album featuring the lineup of Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Eric Carr and Bruce Kulick. Although Kiss was not as popular as they were in the 1970's, this new non-makeup version was keeping pace with current hard rock trends.Crazy Nights had two of three singles chart and the three videos for the singles all were on heavy rotation on MTV. The album has received a lot of negative feedback from the KISS Army due to the abundance of keyboards and synthesizers.KISS brought in the highly sought Ron Nevison to produce the album. The band hoped Nevison's recent success would translate to KISS. Many of KISS' favorite outside songwriters returned as well, like Desmond Child, Diane Warren, Mitch Weissman and SIOL favorite, Adam Mitchell. As usual the guys breakdown and analyze the tracks and rank the songs SIOL style. As always they then rank the album and the album cover against the previous KISS studio albums reviewed. So comb your Paul Stanley chest hair and grab your Paul Stanley thong and let's Turn On The Night! For all things Shout It Out Loudcast check out our amazing website by clicking below: www.ShoutItOutLoudcast.com Interested in more Shout It Out Loudcast content?
