Is there a situation where you feel God doesn't care? Be patient during this time of affliction. Be faithful and bring God your prayers every day. Don't waste this time running away from him. Run toward him and see what God will do even amid great trials. SUBSCRIBE to our sister podcasts:Your Daily Prayer: https://www.lifeaudio.com/your-daily-prayer/Your Daily Bible Verse: https://www.lifeaudio.com/your-daily-bible-verse/ Full Transcript Below: Be Faithful "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer." Romans 12:12 After receiving a new medication from my doctor, she warned me of potential side effects. Nausea, vomiting, and appetite loss were the most common side effects. The first couple of weeks, I did fine. The side effects were minimal, and I was able to tolerate them. But by month two, everything had changed. I quickly got to the point where I was sick every day and became afraid to leave my home. My stomach would change in an instant, and I could be in the middle of nowhere feeling incredibly nauseous and uncomfortable. This is far from the health I had hoped for. I prayed and asked God to take the side effects away. But they got worse rather than better. Week after week, I would pray fervently for God to hear my prayers. But nothing. Finally, my doctor took me off the medicine and gave me a month to reset before discussing a new brand of medication. While this seems small in the large scheme of life, this wasn't the first time I had experienced loss this past year. Sudden job changes, loss of relationships, and an unsteady income are all issues I was dealing with daily. Having a health challenge on top of it was the last thing I wanted to hear. It felt as if God didn't care and that he wanted me to suffer. After another day of unwanted side effects, I went to the grocery store to get some groceries. I entered my car and banged my head on the rearview mirror, causing a bump on my head. That sent me over the edge. I cried in my car in the grocery store parking lot for over an hour. I poured out my heart to God, asking him to help me since I couldn't take another thing. I'd been dealing with so much loss over the past year it wasn't easy to deal with yet another challenge. It felt as if no area of my life was going right. I felt compelled to continue praying and placing my hope in God. Eventually, the side effects did wear off after a change in medication, and I could enjoy the following weeks. But going through that season of turmoil felt endless. Yet, God wanted me to be patient in that affliction. He wanted me to go to him daily, giving him my days, minutes, and hours. In the same way, God wants us to bring our pain to him. He wants us to be patient when we are afflicted with many trials. He doesn't want us to give up hope. Instead, he wants to see us have hope during those trials. He wants us to persevere and trust that he has us in this season for a reason. God doesn't waste our pain. He wants us to endure every trial with patience, perseverance, and hope. When we do this, we become more like Christ than ever before. It is easy to love God when things are going well. When things are not going well, and God feels absent or silent, we must trust him even when we can't see or feel him. He wants us to be faithful in praying to him and giving over our trials to him. When life feels endless, and we feel like there's no end to our trials, he wants us to pray to him, trusting that he will make way for our situation and turn it for his good. Is there a situation where you feel God doesn't care? Be patient during this time of affliction. Be faithful and bring God your prayers every day. Don't waste this time running away from him. Run toward him and see what God will do even amid great trials. Father, remind us that you are with us always. Please help us to be patient when we're afflicted with many trials. Help us to be faithful and give over our lives to you in prayer every day. Help us trust that you do everything for your good and that our pain is not wasted. Amen. Hello to all tuning into "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast." Today, we're diving deep into what it means to live a life that not only talks the talk but walks the walk of Christian ethics in a modern context. Our guide? None other than the Apostle Paul's words to the Galatians. Our springboard for today's discussion is: Galatians 5:22-23: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law."In a culture often marked by cynicism, division, and self-interest, Paul's description of the fruit of the Spirit serves as a blueprint for moral and ethical living. These virtues are not just personal enhancements; they are evidence of a life transformed by the Spirit of God. Today, we'll explore how embodying these characteristics can challenge the status quo and reflect a beacon of hope and light in dark places.Focus Points to Work on:* Cultivate Love and Kindness:* Start by evaluating how you interact with those around you. Are your actions and words building others up or tearing them down? Make a conscious effort to perform at least one deliberate act of kindness each day, whether it's a warm greeting, a helping hand, or a listening ear. The challenge is to make kindness a default reaction.* Practice Patience and Self-Control:* Patience and self-control are perhaps two of the most challenging virtues in our fast-paced, instant-gratification culture. Focus on areas of your life where you're most impatient or prone to react negatively. When you feel your patience wearing thin, take a moment to pause, breathe, and ask for the Spirit's help in maintaining composure and perspective.* Foster Peace and Joy:* In a world filled with anxiety and strife, peace and joy can seem elusive. Dedicate time each day for prayer and meditation, focusing on God's promises and faithfulness. This spiritual practice can help anchor your soul in peace and inject joy into your daily life, regardless of external circumstances. Conclusion: Living out the fruit of the Spirit is an ongoing journey that requires intention, dedication, and divine assistance. These virtues not only make us better individuals but also light bearers in a world that desperately needs the love and truth of Christ.Call to Action: This week, choose one aspect of the fruit of the Spirit you feel you're lacking and commit to developing it. Keep a daily journal of your thoughts, challenges, and progress. You'll be amazed at how small steps can lead to significant changes.Question of the Day: Which fruit of the Spirit do you find most challenging to exhibit in your daily life, and why?Let's Pray: Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Spirit that guides and transforms us. Help us to embody the fruit of the Spirit in all that we do, so that we might be a positive influence in our communities and reflect Your love to those around us. Give us the strength to live out these virtues consistently, serving as a testament to Your transformative power. Amen. Thanks for joining us on "The Power Of God's Whisper Podcast." Keep striving to live out the fruit of the Spirit each day. Remember, in doing so, you are not only following God's will but also making a tangible difference in the world around you. No one likes being patient, and yet it is the cornerstone of any spiritual practice. Spiritual patience asks us to surrender, to practice non-attachment, non-judgment, acceptance, and forgiveness —but just how do we do that in real life? Join me in this week's episode as we dive deeper into energy at play. Patience often means we have to wait. With an energy asking us to be patient, nothing is necessarily moving fast or in the way our minds want it to unfold. The timely manner our mind desires things to unfold may not match the Divine Timing at play. Instead, while we practice patiently waiting, we will need to draw on our inner strength, our inner power, and our true presence or our true self. While you patiently wait for the outer world to materialise, be thoughtful and mindful not only on what you can change, but accepting who and what is really here. Accept you can't force this, you can't control this, that there is something much bigger than you influencing the timing and outcome here. Patience allows for Co-Creation. How joyful are you? Here are a few more ways to cultivate a more cheerful and glad spirit. And the first way is to: Practice Patience and Pray We have all experienced impatience in our lives. That irritability and dis-ease when you're waiting for something and it feels like it's taking forever to materialize. When something does not happen on your timeline you can lose hope and it can mess with your joy. When it comes down to it, impatience is really an indicator that you do not trust God and his timing. It's a signal that you lack faith that God is working things out on your behalf and as a result, you can become heavy-hearted. To cultivate joy in the waiting, Romans 12:12 is a call to action: “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Another way to intentionally cultivate joy in your life is to: Mind Your Mind According to Proverbs 17:22: “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones” (ESV). A joyful, positive mindset is key to experiencing a healthy and fulfilling life. The heart is your inner self, thoughts, emotions, and will. Good medicine refers to something that treats or alleviates the symptoms of disease. One translation of this verse says, “A cheerful heart causes good healing.” All throughout Scripture we see the potent effects of the mind on the body. A joyful heart is good because it generates health and healing in your inner being. In contrast a crushed spirit dries up the bones or as Proverbs 12:25 explains, “anxiety in the heart of a person causes depression.” Interestingly these nuggets of wisdom are backed up by scientific studies that demonstrate the mind's powerful influence over the body. A cheerful, contented temperament not only fortifies your mental health but enables your body to resist the attacks of physical disease. That's another reason to be enamored with God and how he created our minds and bodies. And, why he created you to experience joy! So if good medicine is a joyful heart, how can you foster and promote internal joy? Scripture says that God's laws, precepts, and statutes refresh the soul and gladden the heart. Psalm 19:7a says, “The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul.” And the prophet Jeremiah testified, “When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart's delight” (Jeremiah 15:16a). Setting apart intentional time to be with God, meditating on his Word, his character, and his promises, is a guaranteed way to do your heart some good.
Waiting with Faith: Trusting in God's Timing for Answered PrayersPrayer is a powerful tool for believers to communicate with God and seek His guidance, intervention, and blessings. However, one of the greatest challenges we often face is waiting for God's response to our prayers. It is during this waiting period that our faith is tested, and we must learn to trust in God's perfect timing and sovereignty. In this article, we will explore how to wait for God to answer your prayer by faith, drawing strength and patience from His promises and our relationship with Him.Seek Alignment with God's WillWhen we pray, it's essential to align our desires with God's will. Understand that God knows what is best for us, even if it may differ from what we think we need or want. Submitting our prayers to His will opens our hearts to accept His answer, whether it is a yes, no, or wait. Aligning our desires with His purposes ensures that we are seeking His glory above all else.Cultivate a Personal Relationship with GodDeveloping an intimate relationship with God is crucial when waiting for His response. Spend time in prayer, study His Word, and engage in worship. As we draw nearer to God, we gain a deeper understanding of His character, which strengthens our faith. A close relationship with God allows us to trust Him more fully and believe that He will answer our prayers in His perfect way and timing.Practice Patience and PerseveranceWaiting can be challenging, but it's essential to remember that God's timing is always perfect. Patience and perseverance go hand in hand with waiting by faith. Understand that God may be working behind the scenes, orchestrating events and preparing the right circumstances for your prayer to be answered. Rather than becoming discouraged, choose to remain steadfast in faith, knowing that God is faithful to His promises.Lean on God's PromisesGod's Word is filled with promises that assure us of His faithfulness and His commitment to answer our prayers. Find solace in these promises, such as Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." Cling to verses like Matthew 7:7: "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." Meditating on these promises can provide comfort and strength during the waiting period.Maintain an Attitude of GratitudeWhile waiting for God's response, it's crucial to maintain an attitude of gratitude. Take time to reflect on the blessings in your life and give thanks to God for His goodness. Gratitude shifts our focus from what we lack to what we have already received. It helps us appreciate the present moment and strengthens our faith, reminding us that God is continually at work in our lives.Trust in God's SovereigntyAbove all, waiting by faith involves placing our trust in God's sovereignty. Remember that God sees the bigger picture and knows what is best for us. Even if His answer doesn't align with our desires or expectations, trust that He has a greater purpose in mind. Embrace the truth that His ways are higher than our ways and that He is working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28).Waiting for God to answer our prayers requires patience, trust, and a deep-rooted faith. By seeking alignment with God's will, nurturing a personal relationship with Him, practicing patience, leaning on His promises, maintaining gratitude, and trusting in His sovereignty, we can wait with faith and find peace in His timing. As we grow in our trust, we come to realize that the waiting period is not wasted but rather an opportunity for our faith to be refined and for us to draw closer to our Heavenly Father. Please support the channel by purchasing one of the recommended readings:The Return of Prayers: Sowing Seeds of Prayer and Waiting on God for a Harvest of AnswersReligious Bookmarks About Waiting on God to Answer Prayer (12 Pack) - Encouraging Bible Verses for Men Women Disruptive Thinking: A Daring Strategy to Change How We Live, Lead, and Love

The Buddha was once asked “what is the most important thing for us to practice?” And his answer was simple: patience (or khanti, in Pali). Happily, this vital quality is something we can learn to apply to absolutely everything we struggle with in our lives - every person, situation, and even ourselves - in order to become much more peaceful, self-controlled, compassionate, and undisturbed by life itself. This talk explores the many different ways that we can do this. It includes a 10-minute meditation at the end.

If you enjoy listening to Real Refreshment, we've got another great show that you'll want to add to your playlist. Let us introduce you to Team Us!For husband and wife Ted and Ashleigh Slater, the 1987 film The Princess Bride is frequently playing in their home. For them, one of the most memorable characters is Inigo Montoya. His patience and persistence as he hunts for the six-fingered man remind them that it takes time to execute a “death wish.” But what does a “death wish” have to do with marriage? While they joined a new team when they promised, “I do,” that doesn't mean the unity and cooperation is going to be easy or automatic. It takes time after marriage to make that transition from “me” to “us.”One reason is that all of us come to marriage with ingrained habits. These are the things that steal joy from our relationship, keep us from walking in unity and practicing cooperation, and can even weaken our resolve to stay committed.Continue Listening to Team Us for 3 Ways to Practice Patience, Persistence, and Grace:Apple Podcasts: https://apple.co/4019Wwi Spotify: https://spoti.fi/403J3Io LifeAudio: https://www.lifeaudio.com/team-us/why-becoming-a-team-takes-time-and-thats-okay

The #1 way to practice patience as you wait in God's promises is to recognize this one thing: control. When we lack patience, we often feel like we lack control of the situation. And if we are honest with ourselves, we can see a lack of patience in many areas of our lives. When we dig a little deeper, we can recognize the fruit of our lack of patience might be control. So, how do we practice patience and recognize control? In this episode, I'm walking you through seven of God's promises for us and offering three practical ways for you to practice patience today. Patience isn't just about waiting. It's about how we wait, right? If we can help our children practice patience from a young age, we're giving them a life-long gift. And the only way to have more patience is to practice! I can't tell you how often I'm muttering under my breath throughout the day asking God for patience. But I know what's happening when I do that - I'm actually asking for opportunities where my patience is going to be tested so I can practice! In this episode, I give you smart and simple strategies to help your kids practice their patience. We'll discuss why it's important to start small and keep it simple. We'll also explore the role that self-regulation skills play in practicing patience, and the power in seeing and acknowledging our children's effort and progress.
