We are live at 7pm CST tonight talking all things Pro Wrestling.  1-347-857-1060 is the number to listen via mobile. We discuss finally last weekends NXT Takeover and Wrestlemania 35, along with the Raw and Smackdown Live shows post Mania.  Thoughts across the board on the shows, along with if they did enough to keep us happy. Just like Sasha Banks, we weren't.  We now begin our WWE strike until Money in the Bank.  No spoilers, no results reading, no shake up news, nothing.  We are going blind into Money in the Bank.  We talk what we hope from this.  Will the shake up have good things?  Will the card be good?  Can we get back into storylines?  Will we have new champions anywhere also going into the PPV?  We talk it all. Lastly, we discuss the big two matches from a really good finale from yesterday as the 2019 Big Japan Wrestling Deathmatch Survivor tournament came to a close, and it was the best outcome.  We saw the A block and B block winners Masashi Takeda take on Isami Kodoka in a rematch from their big match last June that took the wrestling world by storm.  Ryan may have liked parts more than last, with a closing stretch that might have topped the year.  Also, we finally saw the emerging performance that has been hoped for with Daichi Hashimoto, the son of the great Shinya Hashimoto.  He took on Yuji Okabayashi in the final of the Strong Division Tournament, to crown the #1 contender to Daisuke Sekimoto.  Two great matches to really boost a great show. Make sure to subscribe on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, Radio Tune-In, Player FM, iHeart Radio, Anchor.FM, Spotifly and more that we have found out we are on.  Like us on Facebook and follow @wrestlecast_ssm on Twitter.  Also, grab a shirt over at www.prowrestlingtees.com/wrestlecast as well and support the show.

CONTENT WARNING: The match discussed in this episode is highly graphic and should only be viewed by those comfortable with excessive blood and violence. Christmas comes extremely early this year (or is it a little late?) and we've baked a cake to celebrate! Please mind the sharpened forks and pencils. We're watching Takeda vs Takahashi from Big Japan Death Vegas 2017 for the BJW Death Match Heavyweight Championship. Joining your boys this week to break down this (admittedly) difficult to watch match is filmmaker Charles Pieper (@inherentcharlie The Dark Collection ) And remember, what happens in Death Vegas stays in Death Vegas, even when what happens is a Dangerous Christmas for Deathmatch Fluorescent Light Tubes Tree & Glass Plate & Alpha Deathmatch [Masashi Takeda vs. Masaya Takahashi, BJW Death Vegas 2017, December 17 2017]

This week on Wrestling Omakase it's a reunion from another former VOW podcast, as we kick off our 2018 Year in Review series! Back for another year, the Year in Review series will focus on a different promotion (or type of wrestling) each week and get you all caught up on them. Didn't see a ton from their year? Feel like you need a refresher course? We go through as much of the year as we can in chronological order, highlighting stuff you may have missed along the way. Then we discuss our picks from the promotion for the traditional Observer-style awards, including: Wrestler of the Year, Most Outstanding Wrestler, Best Major Show, Match of the Year and more. We begin this time around with Big Japan Pro Wrestling. John is joined by returning guests Drew ([@_burningspirits](https://twitter.com/_burningspirits)) & Kevin Hare ([@stan__hansen](https://twitter.com/stan__hansen)), both alumni of the ex-VOW show Burning Spirits. We break down BJW's entire 2018, talking both the deathmatch and strong divisions at length. Was the Masashi Takeda title reign the greatest deathmatch reign of all time? How did Hideki Suzuki's second reign compare to his first? And John unexpectedly has to go to the mat to defend Hideki against Drew's ONSLAUGHT~!! of, uh, polite criticism. Somehow Kenny Omega and KENTA KOBASHI (!) come up in this, we're not sure how. It's all an interesting discussion and one that you're sure to enjoy, this week! We are live at 7pm CST tonight talking all things Pro Wrestling.  1-347-857-1060 is the number to listen via mobile. We open tonight with a slew of news and rumors.  Nia Jax and Alexa Bliss real heat?  Brock Lesnar showed up at the UFC, pushed the Champ, signed up for VADA and looks to be set up for January.  What does this do for WWE?  Both Hiromu Takahashi and Jim Ross injured in San Fran.  Aldis defending the NWA Title against Flip....where did we hear that before.  Mysterio signs a 2 year deal with WWE and Bryan also resigning.  We talk both.  All-In has it's first official match, plus a crazy rumor, and a PPV deal.  We talk the whole weekend.  Taker at MSG, ugh.  Someone pulled out a Moonwalk DDT!  More NJPW shows this year in the US also.  Allegations running wild by Taeler Hendrix to Jay Lethal, Kenny Omega doing some bad business in Orlando, and does Enzo deserve a apology? We go Into The Universe in the second fall.  We breakdown last weeks Raw and Smackdown Live shows, along with our picks for Extreme Rules this Sunday on the WWE Network.  We also sneak in the insane Masashi Takeda vs Isami Kodoka deathmatch from Big Japan on June 20th, and talk why we think it's blowing up the internet. We close going Outside The Universe as we breakdown the G1 US Special from Saturday night.  We discuss all the great matches from the show including the wild Jay White vs Juice Robinson contest, along with the fun Main Event and Junior Title contests.  We also discuss what we see next for the company, and briefly cover the G1 Climax 28, a few days before our 2 hour Special on Friday.
