All of a sudden I was getting serious headaches and didn't know why…My friend Rob Wolff who wrote the book Wired to Eat turned me on to InsideTracker but to be honest I didn't follow thru and spent the next 4 years trying to figure things out on my own by seeing over a dozen doctors and specialists. I probably wasted at least $20,000 in time and medical expenses with nothing to show for it. Earlier this year another friend suggested InsideTracker again and I signed up. It was so easy. A specialist came to my house to took my blood for a blood panel test that measured almost 50 health markers. About a week later I had a full report across all of the important categories. How much would you pay to have a roadmap to feeling your best? Well, promise InsiderTracker costs a lot less and I guarantee it will be one of the best investments you make for yourself. With annual fees starting at $150 this is a no-brainer. Kevin sits down with Eric Ryan, a serial entrepreneur.  At one point the two of them were competitors leading the way to the creation of a booming natural cleaners category. Today, they are friends and dig into the 'what' and 'how' they both won their 'Superbowl'. More importantly, as Eric reveals, why stop when you have success when you love what you do. Eric talk about how identifies opportunities and how he and his teams took method, Olly, and Welly, from concept to massively successful brands. More importantly, Eric's authenticity and wonderful character shine through in this episode. Get ready to take notes because this one is full of insights and ideas for you to reapply. ---------Eric Ryan has built his career and portfolio of direct-to-consumer companies by disrupting industries that are overly complex by simplifying and beautifying them to make consumers' lives easier and prettier. He started out squeaky clean in 2001 when he co-founded Method with a good high school friend and built it into a global industry leader for both design and sustainability. In 2015, he shed his clean reputation to shake up the vitamin aisle with OLLY, an innovative line of gummies and proteins with smart design and downright deliciousness. Next, Eric ventured into making the finest fabric bandages and ointments that people actually want to buy and wear, co-founding Welly in 2019. Most recently, he co-founded Cast, a collaborative, female-focused line of fine jewelry created by some of the world's most inventive jewelry designers.A serial entrepreneur and creator of everlasting brands, Eric is always thinking about his next big project. So, what's next? You'll see soon!Eric has been named an eco-leader by Vanity Fair, an eco-revolutionary by Time Magazine, PETA's Person of the Year, a recipient of the Clinton Global Citizen Award, and was named to Fortune's 40 under 40.He's accomplished quite a bit, yet remains modestly approachable, and has a great sense of humor. There is no separation between work and home - what you see is what you get. He brilliantly owns his bold style yet keeps it real by always being respectful, transparent, and empathetic. And if that's not enough, despite his self-professed less than average build, this adrenaline junkie is an avid kite-surfer, snow skier, sailor and Dad to three lively kiddos.

Strategy + Action

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 7, 2023 34:21

"You can't get anyone to do anything until you get their attention first." America's Sweetheart Eric Ryan is on the show today! And we're talking all about his mission in life to shake business owners into not making boring marketing on LinkedIn (I think his Manifesto is in the works). For some reason, when it comes to creating content to showcase our companies, our default as business owners is too often to "play it safe". But if we don't do something different and engaging (yes, attention-getting!) then we might as well be doing nothing. ✨ Here are 3 key takeaways from our conversation: 1️⃣ Showcasing Personality Pays Off: Eric believes that LinkedIn offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals and brands to express their personality and uniqueness. In the past, time and money constraints made it difficult, but now, it's more accessible and affordable. So, don't be afraid to show your true colors and stand out! 2️⃣ Authenticity is Key: Many people present themselves differently on camera, but Eric encourages authenticity, especially in the B2B world. Most of us have a unique personality that sets us apart. Embrace it, be real, and watch the magic unfold! 3️⃣ A Golden Age of Video: According to Eric, we're in the beginning of a video revolution. While commercials used to be expensive and limited to TV, now, anyone can create videos with their phone. He suggests that small to mid-sized businesses should experiment with creative and low-production videos, as constant content creation is key in the online world.

In this episode, we are Digging Deeper into the topic of heaven. Listen in as members of Perimeter's teaching team talk through questions like: Can our loved ones see us in heaven? Are they aware of what's happening on Earth? And, what might they be thinking about in heaven? We will also discuss what all the references to a place called sheol in the Old Testament are talking about? And, what we make of popular books on the afterlife. Big Takeaway: Scripture may be silent on some of the details about heaven, but the focal point of heaven is clear. Heaven isn't so much about a place where all our longings are satisfied but rather, it's primarily about a Person in whom all our longings are satisfied. Application Questions: Do you long for heaven? Is your hope for heaven set on being in the presence of Jesus? What's the reality of heaven and what misconceptions might you have to let go of? Are you resting in the assurance of heaven? Check out episode notes at perimeter.org/DD-11-Notes.

In today's episode of Digging Deeper, all four pastors taking us through our current sermon series, Chasing Truth, gather around the table to discuss what it means for us, as believers, to dive deeper into God's unfolding word. Jeff Norris is joined by Eric Ryan--Executive Director of Shepherding and Spiritual Growth, along with Jimmy Kim--Director of Family Transformation, Ryan Brown--Pastor of Discipleship, and Tony Thomas--Assistant Director of City Impact share different passages of Scripture of which the Lord has pressed in a deeper interpretation throughout their spiritual journey. Instead of looking back at what has already been taught and digging deeper into points not addressed on a Sunday morning, the group shares their hopes and longings for the listener each week as the series continues over the next three weeks. Big Takeway: The word of God is bigger than we can fathom and the meaning behind scripture can be a mystery. But in the unfolding nature of God's word, I can rest and find joy in knowing there is a lifetime of walking with God before us that we can begin to understand more and more. Application Question: What passage of scripture has God used in your life to reveal more of Himself? Check out episode notes at perimeter.org/DD-10-Notes.
