The Aussie Ashes squad is in and the countdown is well and truly on. We dive into one of the great unspoken pillars of elite sport: feedback, and how the best in the world learn to live with it. Across early-morning entries, late-night reflections and a couple of classic check-ins, Mitch Starc and Alex Carey take us inside the mental side of cricket at the absolute highest level. Mitch opens up about the flood of external attention and how he’s learned over his journey to sort the white noise from the gold. From the best feedback he’s ever received, to the lessons that have shaped a decade of international cricket, Mitch is honest, raw and razor sharp. Then it’s Alex Carey’s turn. Kez walks us through the aftermath of that Bairstow moment, the noise that followed, and the feedback that mattered most. He shares how he processed it all. And just when you think the boys are cruising toward Ashes camp… chaos. Mitch takes us into a crucial Sheffield Shield hit-out - a key milestone in his final prep - only for the match to unravel with hamstring injuries to Josh Hazlewood and Sean Abbott. The Ashes countdown begins with Menners and Gav Joshi diving into all the cricket news from Australia and beyond. Menners opens the show with a rare apology to English fans after last week's passionate rant — but the rivalry is heating up fast with the first Test just days away. The duo break down India's T20 series win over Australia, dissect the Aussies' middle-order issues, and debate the left-arm bowling question ahead of next year's T20 World Cup. Then it's full focus on the Ashes: team selection headaches, Cameron Green's fitness, Nathan Lyon's spot, and whether England's “Bazball” can survive on Australian pitches. Finally, Menners celebrates a new Big Bash rule he's been championing for a decade — fans can now keep the ball if they catch a boundary in the first over. It's a jam-packed episode of cricket insights, humour, and classic Unfiltered banter. (0:55) Menners apologizes to English fans after last week's outburst. (3:11) Ashes merch drop — from “Moral Victory” to “The Bairstow Walk” T-shirts. (5:10) India win the T20 series: what it means for Australia's World Cup prep. (11:00) Who replaces Mitch Starc and the left-arm conundrum for Australia. (14:30) The age question: are Australia's best years behind them? (20:30) Ashes selection debate: Green's fitness, Lyon's place, and the Perth pitch. (26:50) England vs Australia bowling attacks compared. Australia added just the six runs to their overnight score before Nathan Lyon became Jasprit Bumrah’s fifth wicket of the innings. It meant India needed 340 runs to win but from the outset they were digging in for the draw. Pat Cummins took two wickets in an over and then Mitch Starc got Virat Kohli before lunch to put Australia on top. But Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant batted through the afternoon session to put the draw back in sights. It took Travis Head’s golden arm/finger and a rash shot by Pant to get the breakthrough and from there Australia held every catch, got every review right and bowled India out for 155 to win by 184 runs and lead the series 2-1 heading into Sydney! Rain again toyed with both teams in the third Test but there was still plenty of action on day four at the Gabba. Steve Smith dropped a sitter then later took a screamer, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja kept the Aussie assault at bay with a gutsy half-centuries, Josh Hazlewood suffered a right calf injury that'll likely keep him out of the summer, Mitch Starc and Pat Cummins carried the attack and Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep denied the hosts the chance to enforce the follow-on and in doing so pretty much sealing a draw. Australia won the second Border-Gavaskar Trophy by 10 wickets to level the series 1-all. Pat Cummins took his 13th five-wicket haul to bowl out India for 175, with Nitish Kumar Reddy top scoring with 42 and the Aussies dropping a couple of catches.
