Some of the greatest wrestling matches of all time have also been some of the longest. Over the past 10-15 years, New Japan Pro Wrestling has become the poster child for these epic matches thanks to pairings like Okada-Omega, Ospreay-Shingo, and Ibushi-White, just to name a few. On this episode, Andrew and returning guest Suit Williams (Voices of Wrestling) play some music epics: songs that are 7 minutes or longer (and in some cases, way longer). Artists played include Metallica, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Nina Simone, Yes, The Temptations, David Bowie, Kendrick Lamar, and many more. Clear your schedule and hunker down with some snacks—these songs are going long!Theme song: "Hemispheres" by Silent PartnerFollow Music of the Mat on Twitter: @MusicoftheMatFollow Suit on Twitter: @SuitWilliamsSuit's blog: suitwilliams.wordpress.comAll VOW podcasts, articles, previews, and reviews: VoicesofWrestling.comJoin the VOW Discord to discuss Music of the Mat and other shows/topics: VoicesofWrestling.com/DiscordAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
Tom and Jeff do a deep dive into this absolute classic match!
The Stiff Bois return with a packed show, discussing the best of a great Wrestle Kingdom show, the newsworthy moments, the conspiracy booking that paid off, the ones that didn't, and the big stories for 2023 in New Japan Pro Wrestling. This is the podcast for Jay White fans to gather and relax, as the lads break down the double main event, discuss the Okada-Omega team, and where the entire main event scene may be headed. Also, the wholesome Aussie bois talk about, the former Sasha Banks, Mercedes Mone's debut and what her star power may signal for New Japan's direction in the US. We're not even at the halfway point of the first week of 2021 for five-star matches, as Lorcan (@lorcanmullan) and Simon (@simoncross3) follow up the Okada-Omega clash with the very next match on the card as Naito defends the Intercontinental title he picked up at Night 1 of the previous year's Wrestle Kingdom, and the Heavyweight title he won on the next night, against the G1 Climax winner Kota Ibushi, who Naito granted a title shot to after he lost his entitled G1 championship match to Jay White a few weeks earlier. Will this act of charity undo Naito with two defences in as many days? If Ibushi wins, will it leave him too weak and limit him to a one-day reign? Will those factors and the tendency of these two men to crush each other's necks in their previous encounters provide a positive or negative effect on the final rating our LMTYS boys give their match? Listen to find out. Outro track: Gold Stardust (unknown artist) https://patreon.com/lmtyspod https://twitter.com/lmtyspod https://facebook.com/lmtyspod lmtyspod@gmail.com

This week, RJ, Brian and Patrick are back to talk about the abomination that was Goldberg v The Undertaker at SuperShowdown. We kick the show off with Brian's reaction to Okada/Omega from Dominion 2018 and end with our bar discussion on underrated matches. It's a great time. Enjoy.
The guys are all back together for a jam-packed show. Obviously, there's plenty of discussion about Jay White's IWGP Title victory over Tanahashi. Was it a total surprise? A look back over the last year shows how NJPW built The Switchblade and why they were able to pivot to him from original plans that featured Okada/Omega at MSG. So who will face White at MSG? The NJ Cup is discussed, including Ibushi's increased chances of winning/main event push now that he's officially under contract with New Japan. There's also a review of everything that went down on all The New Beginning cards and a look ahead to notable future matches, included an extensive look at weird, but fun Honor Rising cards. There's some AEW talk after a sellout of Double or Nothing and Val Venis' AJPW run?!
Brian Fritz is joined by the voice of New Japan Pro Wrestling Kevin Kelly to discuss the growth of the brand and how hot it is right now, calling the historic Kazuchika Okada - Kenny Omega 4 match at Dominion, Okada's incredible run as the IWGP Heavyweight Champion, and the upcoming G1 Climax tournament including who are the favorites and fantasy booking dreams entrants for the tournament.
Gene and Erik look back on the career of Big Van Vader after discussing their Movie of the Week, the Netflix documentary, TAKE YOUR PILLS, which explores the physical and cultural effects of Adderall and other ADHD medications. Elsewhere, they talk about the latest 18-star Okada/Omega match, Dave Meltzer's broken rating system and CM Punk being inept at MMA. Songs featured in this episode: Marilyn Manson, "Deep Six" and Dopethrone, "Snort Dagger".
With Father’s Day right around the corner join us for a brand new episode of That Wrestling Show! Join Bill and Fro this week as they review New Japan’s Dominion event and go into great detail their thoughts on Okada-Omega 4. Plus, preview and predictions for Money in the Bank, Ring of Honor going to MSG and which wrestler thinks he looks great as a woman? All that and more this week on That Wrestling Show!

With WWE Money in the Bank still two weeks away, Adam Silverstein has to talk Brian Campbell off the ledge as the Raw brand continues to disappoint and confuse every Monday night. Once the dust settles, BC and The Silver King dive into what's working so well on SmackDown, their hopes for the AJ Styles-Shinsuke Nakamura match and why New Day remains underutilized by WWE. Next up is Hero or Zero where the guys get into it over Shawn Michaels, the NXT title picture, Becky Lynch's big win and CM Punk's future. NJPW Dominion 6.9 is given a once-over with an extensive discussion about the fourth edition of Okada-Omega before the return of PPV Rewind and an all-NXT edition of Feel Spots. Kenny got hisself pinned by Michael Elgin (who is awesome and excellent!) and now, I wonder... what the fuck New Japan? What does this mean for Block B? Where does this lead for post-G1? Does this make Okada-Omega 3 meaningless, or more meaningful, and just where do they go?

It's another PPV week, and we have a special guest picker, but first, the guys have to recap RAW and the weekend, which featured a bunch of wrestling-related shenanigans. They talk about some of the big moments on RAW, including whether or not they should have ended the show with a double-countout like they did. They discuss the Joe/Lesnar encounter, before moving on to Roman's future announcement. Glenn and Aaron have reservations about it. Plus, John Cena is now a free agent? That sets off some alarms in the Jobbing Out studios. In segment 2 (36:00) NFL tight end Vernon Davis joins the show for Money in the Bank picks. While the undercard is pretty much straight-forward, once the big matches hit, there's a lot of discussion. There's a straight split of who they believe should be Mr. Money in the Bank, while there's no consensus of all on who will win the women's match. Plus, even the title match ends up in dissension. In Segment 3 (1:10:30) Aaron and Glenn talk to Impact Wrestling's Eli Drake, who is staring down a pretty big match at Slammiversary. The Maryland native discusses his trip to OC and growing up in Hagerstown before turning towards wrestling. They talk the past few months at Impact Wrestling, what 2016 was like for the company, and his angle where he couldn't cut promos. After Eli departs, Aaron and AJ discuss New Japan Dominion, Okada/Omega 2, and the announcement of Floyd/Conor.
