The Pony Platter is AFL Canada's traditional pre-season Australian rules football tournament, held annually since 2012. The 2025 edition is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Manotick Polo Club in Ottawa, Ontario. The men's teams involved were Ottawa Swans, Quebec Saints and Atlantic Pirates which was a combined team representing AFL Atlantic, including players from clubs such as the Halifax Dockers, Sydney Giants and the newly established Cornwall Tigers and the OAFL club, the High Park Demons. For the women, it was Ottawa Swans, Quebec Saints, as well as a combined team of High Park Demons (+1 player from NY Magpies) and DC Eagles. Thank you to Melissa Marino-Piques for putting together such a wonderful World Footy Shorts with loads of interviews and information about the day. It was great to hear all the exciting conversations leading into the 2025 season.

[EP 25-157] In case you missed it, Joe Biden made a public appearance, like Puxantawnee Phil. And he started speaking before the music died down. And it's not like he was talking over the music in an intro, as Joe actually started delivering his full speech. It's like Joe couldn't hear the music.I'm actually shocked that Democrats would allow this man to make public appearances. Talk about showing their desperation. As for Biden's rush to speak, one person quipped, “His amphetamine shot only lasts so long, so he had to rush!” Others commented along the same thread that “Joe needed to be drug-tested”. Gurdip's back!!! ...kinda? April Fools! Originally released back in May 2022 on our Patreon, Gurdip demanded to have his say about Terry Stafford and his famous cover of "Suspicion," so Justin obliged and they sat down not just with the single, but Terry's full 1964 album. Released on the Crusader Records label to capitalize on Stafford's surprise Top 5 success with his hit recording of the same name, "Suspicion" featured an array of Elvis-likes from original Brill Building songwriters behind some of Elvis's early '60s material, including Doc Pomus, Ben Weisman, Fred Wise, and Sid Wayne. As you'll hear, evidence strongly suggests that many, if not all, of the songs included were pitched to Elvis for consideration, with several even getting recorded.  Justin also guides us a little further past the album to Stafford's post-Suspicion career, including later singles and more significantly as a songwriter himself, with such hits as Buck Owens' "Big in Vegas" and George Strait's "Amarillo by Morning." Joe W. Specht's short-but-thorough biography "The Life and Music of Terry Stafford" was immensely helpful to finding more information on Stafford's story.
