Rikostoimittaja Linda Rantaselta puolestaan ilmestyy tällä viikolla teos Hiljaiset todistajat - Mitä ruumiit meille kertovat. Kirjassa esitellään kuolemantapauksia, joissa vasta jälkikäteen on voitu todeta, että kyseessä on ollut henkirikos. Mitä kuolleet meille kertovat? Miten vainajien tunnistamisprosessi käytännössä toimii? Minkälaiset merkit vainajassa saavat tutkijat epäilemään rikosta? Kuinka kuormittavasta työstä on kyse? Ville Talola toimittaa.

When I told my husband the topic of our interview today, he asked, "What does that have to do with the gospel and discipleship?" As humans, most of our discipleship takes place where our feet are planted. For him, usually that's his workplace, but for me, that's my home. I want to be humble enough to invite people into my mess, but within limits. If people can't get into the house without tripping over 20 pairs of shoes it's harder to say "Come on over." I love hearing about other peoples systems for making that happen. Susan has spent years perfecting her rhythms and creating steady habits. She's going to be our mom for the day and chat through the systems she has learned. Can you walk us through your ideal day based on systems? What does your week look like? Is it the same usually, or do things fluctuate often? What do you do on a day or week when you just don't feel motivated to do anything? If someone has never done anything like this before, what would be a good first step for them to take today? You can find Susan Heid's Confident Homemaker's Weekly Household Planner or follow her on Instagram JOIN US: Around Our American World for family-style learning!! Send us a textToday's guest is someone whose work sits right at the intersection of education, innovation, and human connection.Dr. Christine “Christy” Heid is a nursing educator, simulationist, innovator, and healthcare advocate with more than two decades of experience. As a Nursing Simulation Specialist, she brings an invaluable perspective as both a nurse educator and simulation expert who has personally experienced the challenges institutions face in preparing nurses for clinical practice. A recognized innovator in nursing education, she created the Heid ATE Guide for Clinical Teaching and Learning©, which is an Innovative, Progressive Tool to facilitate the Development of Clinical Judgment Skills for real-world nursing Practice. Brilliant. But wait, there's more. Christy has led a multi-site research project funded by an OADN Foundation Grant. She has held roles as a consultant, course developer, and faculty member, contributed to national committees, and published research on simulation and clinical judgment. In this episode, we talk about how simulation is transforming nursing education, what it really means to build clinical judgment, and why innovation is as much about empathy as it is about technology. Her work reminds us that innovation and empathy aren't opposites; they're partners.I wish, as a young nursing student in 1983, that Christy had been in my life. We didn't have simulations. We didn't have nursing simulation specialists. We had to practice on each other. Yeah, I'm not kidding.
