Motorsports announcing royalty and the main man behind Speed Sport 1!
This one is an absolute banger with one of the greats in the sport of Motocross and Supercross. Jeff Emig was one of the sports most enigmatic figures through the 90's and instead of retiring into the sunset post career, he started on a whole new journey in sports broadcasting. After 12 years calling the AMA Supercross he now has a new focus in the form of the World Supercross Championship with long time partner Ralph Sheheen.SPONSORS:ATHLETIC GREENS: http://www.athleticgreens.com/gypsytalesMake sure you use the code to get your years free supply of Vitamin D and 5 FREE travel packs!MANSCAPED: http://www.manscaped.comGet 20% Off + Free Shipping, with the code GYPSYGANGKRUSH OZ: https://krushoz.comDriTimes: http://www.dritimes.comRIVAL INK: http://www.rivalinkdesignco.comCODE: GYPSYGANG 15%FIST HANDWEAR: http://www.fisthandwear.comCODE: GYPSYGANG 15%DIXXON: http://www.dixxonquality.com.auTROPICAL AUTO GROUP: http://www.tropicalauto.com.auSUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST ►https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsBG...ADD GYPSY TALES ON INSTAGRAM ►https://www.instagram.com/gypsytalesp..See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Phil and Josh bring back regular contributor Joe Passero of Beyond The Flag/Fansided to interview legendary motorsports commentator and co-owner of Speed Sport Ralph Sheheen. Ralph stays on for nearly an hour to discuss his early days and current projects in motorsports along with providing plenty of great advice for those who are looking to get into the motorsports broadcasting/journalism business. Ralph also went over some great stories and moments along with his amazing collection of books and memorabilia (which you can see on the YT channel feed)! Ralph also assisted Phil in going to commercial since Phil was still in fanboy mode! After the interview, the trio discussed Tyler Reddick's shocking move to 23XI for 2024. What does this mean for him, 23XI, RCR and who's in play to replace him at RCR? Could Dale, Jr. and JRM come into Cup? New Hampshire saw Christopher Bell win his second career Cup Series race and become the 14th different winner in 2022. The guys go over other key stories like Martin Truex, Jr. and Kevin Harvick who dominated the race along with some drivers that had strong runs but have struggled so far in 2022. Clyde continues to finish up front and add to his points lead with a solid chance to win the Regular Season title. On the XFinity side, JRM continues their domination with Justin Allgaier winning at NHMS for the first time but solidifying his shot for an elusive first title. Ty Gibbs was the other dominant figure but had mechanical issues while Landon Cassill had a career day ruined by a post-race penalty. The finishing order was definitely random with all the attrition that took place. Phil, Josh and Joe previewed the triple header at Pocono Raceway this coming weekend along with picks. Zane Smith essentially needs to start on Saturday to win the Regular Season title and earn another 15 playoff points while all the regulars are looking for one more win before moving to IRP for the playoff opener next week. Can Matt Crafton make the playoffs or will the three-time series champion miss out due to an outside driver winning? In XFinity and Cup, both races could play a big role in the points battles and possibly another winner making the cutoff more interesting.

There’s a slew of car news to address in this episode of On The Move, and hosts Matt Avery and John Kraman kick it off with a big announcement—Mecum Auctions is returning to Indy this October 29-31 for a brand new event called the Fall Special. The auction's set to be held once again at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, the site of the company’s recent 33rd annual flagship auction that once again set records, selling the world’s most expensive Mustang (a 1965 Shelby GT350R that hammered at $3.85 million) and exceeding $74 million in overall sales. Matt and John point out there’s even more Mecum auctions before then, including the upcoming Summer Special, slated for August 27-29 in Kissimmee, Florida. Then it’s talk of FCA’s phasing away with the long-running Dodge Caravan, as well as a spotlight on an often-overlooked Pacifica model with the retro Voyager name. More news of phasing comes with chat of the Journey crossover also being removed from the brand’s lineup. Matt and John ponder replacements before moving on to rumblings that Toyota may offer its Supra with a manual transmission. Matt thinks that’ll help the model connect with enthusiasts who haven’t been overly smitten with the sports car. Slowing things down, John is charged up about some recent actions in the electric pickup truck space while Matt goes full throttle for Shelby American’s announcement of the new GT500 Signature Edition; just 100 will be built, with the package costing just under $30,000 but promising output of over 800 HP. Then, in Segment 2, the guys chat with featured guest, motorsports journalist and TV host Ralph Sheheen. Ralph goes into how he got bit by the racing bug. It started as a young boy when his family went to the original Sacramento Fairgrounds Mile to see the USAC Dirt Champ Cars driven by legendary stars like Mario Andretti and A.J. Foyt. Then the veteran on-air talent goes into his announcing career, including his hosting of the AMA Supercross motorcycle races. He also recounts how Speedsport, the online destination for racing news, grew from a black and white newspaper in 1934 to multiple online properties. Finally, John asks what kinds of collectible rides catch his eye when he’s at a Mecum Auction; the answer includes everything from a Ferrari F50 and a 1978 Porsche 911 Turbo to a 1969 Camaro Resto Mod and a three-window 1932 Hot Rod. Wrapping up the show, Segment 3 rolls out a new feature called Motoring Milestones where Matt and John discuss and debate significant and special makes, models, personalities and more within the automotive industry and collector car hobby. In this inaugural piece, the guys are fired up for what they consider one of the most impactful engines of all time: Chevrolet’s small-block. They go into the iconic powerplant’s origins and all the different applications and configurations it’s been offered in, as well as why it’s been readily embraced by the aftermarket community.
