This episode is brought to you by Daytona Bike Week.  The much anticipated KTM 990 is a step up and Matt Ayhan recently attended the launch of both the 990 RC R, and the upright naked version, the Duke R. There is a lot more to both bikes than one would at first imagine, and Matt fills us in on the differences and his impressions of both bikes. *  *  *  *  * Next week is the start of the 85th Annual Daytona Beach Bike Week! Despite the name, it's actually a 10-day extravaganza that's suitable for everyone. If you're in the middle of Winter where you live, it's time to shrug off the cold and visit sunny Florida! From February 27th to March 8th, the riding season is in full swing in Daytona Beach, Florida. Legendary rides include the historic Main Street to Midtown; the scenic A1A Highway; and the Ormond Beach Scenic Loop. If you want racing then Daytona International Speedway has it all: Supercross; American Flat Track and Short Track; and of course the historic Daytona 200 on Saturday 7th. And don't forget to visit Teddy Morse's Daytona Harley-Davidson, the U.S. 1 corridors, and the rest of Volusia County. For more information about Daytona Beach Bike Week including lodging, events, vendors, parking and more, go to OfficialBikeWeek.com …and we'll see you there! *  *  *  *  * Talking of Supercross, have you heard the latest from the folk at Insta360 about the new Ace Pro 2 Supercross bundle? The partnership between Insta360 and the SMX World Championship, includes world champion Jett Lawrence, and the bundle features the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 action camera. The Ace Pro 2 has 8K, AI-powered video, a large sensor and Leica lens that gives you 4K, 60fps video. There's a PureVideo Mode for low light conditions; it's waterproof, has a 180-minute fast charging battery, and it supports 1TB microSD cards. The Supercross Edition bundle includes a Helmet Chin Mount, two Flexible Adhesive Mounts, a Lens Guard, and a 128GB microSD card so you can get going immediately. Head over to Insta360.com and use promo code ULTIMATE. *  *  *  *  * In this episode's snippet, Teejay Adams chats with Marc Vandement of Cycle Cynch. If you ever have to transport your bike on a truck or trailer, you'll appreciate the Cycle Cynch tie down system that helps secure your bike in place without any damage. *  *  *  *  * In the second segment this episode, Teejay chats with Mikayla “Kay Kay” Nielsen (Instagram: MotoKayKay), one of the up and coming riders in the national Women's Motocross series sponsored by Synchrony Bank. The WMX Championship is a six-round series that takes place in conjunction with Pro Motocross National Championship events throughout the country, and Mikayla is one of the front-runners already with one win and six podiums to her name. *  *  *  *  * Here's a quick reminder to leave us your comments on our social media—we're on all the usual platforms at Ultimate Motorcycling. Corey Heim's already through, but the cut-line math is brutal.Xfinity: Austin Hill wins via fuel strategy and superspeedway savvy.Cup: Chase Briscoe punches his ticket while Kyle Larson runs dry late—strategy bites hard. Then it's a full Martinsville preview across all three series: why the paperclip races different after three series lay rubber, how a chilly night could tweak feel (more grip, less pace), and where the pressure will pop. Trucks are razor-tight (Riggs -6), Xfinity has two virtual locks (Zilisch, Allgaier) with a knife fight brewing for the last spots (Creed, Mayer, Jones, Smith vs. a short-track-strong Carson), and in Cup the guys circle Ryan Blaney as the form pick while Hendrick/JGR/Penske stack the deck.

Our necks are hurting from the whiplash of information regarding what tyres are actually fastest off-road. Ronan teases a fresh discussion he had about optimising one sponsored rider for Unbound and some surprising lessons that came from that. It's a topic that continues to fascinate, especially given some of the world's best cross-country mountain bikers have been racing Short Track on 50 mm gravel tyres. In addition to that, you'll hear Dave Rome, Alex Hunt, and Ronan McLaughlin explain why none of them are currently choosing to use 3D-printed saddles. There's a PSA for anyone with wireless shifting, and of course, there's new stuff to talk about, too.As usual, members also get our Ask a Wrench segment, which this week sees Dave Rome and pro race mechanic Brad Copeland answer a handful of questions, including: how keep 11-speed shifting running long-term, understanding bike handling, and best practises for travelling with new SRAM Full Mount derailleurs (Transmission and XPLR). Kelley Earnhardt Miller sets out to learn the fundamentals of operating a race track as she sits down with Millbridge Speedway owner Ashly Burnett. She and co-host Mike Davis interview Ashly about her long family history in racing and how it led her to take over a speedway herself. Ashly explains that after growing up in the St. Louis area, her father Darrell forged a path in dirt modified racing that took her to many Midwest short tracks every weekend in her formative years. His pursuit to become an engine builder eventually led the family to North Carolina, and her brother Nick has since become an accomplished dirt racer in his own right. Ashly and her husband Jeremy Burnett came to own Millbridge when its former owner decided to get out of the sport. She recalls the process of learning how to manage a speedway as they went along, from acquiring the necessary equipment like tractors and track graders to keeping events organized and on schedule. She also touches on how the track remained open during COVID and actually experienced a boom in popularity that it continues to thrive from. Finally, the interview discusses how Millbridge has played home to not only NASCAR Cup stars, but their children, and how the speedway could very well be a training ground for the next generation of racing superstars.
