In the U.S. alone, 162 million people will experience a worse quality of life due to the changing climate within the next 30 years. Rising sea levels stand to displace 13 million Americans in the long run while wildfires and other risks are likely to displace millions more. With 3.2 million American climate migrants to-date, it's time to start thinking about what our country's future might look like.Even these statistics may be vast underestimates because nailing down someone's exact reason for moving is harder than it may seem. So, how do we determine what factors influence people's decisions to move? Why is climate migration about more than beating the heat? What history brought us here and where are we headed? This week's episode with investigative journalist and author Abrahm Lustgarten will answer these questions and more. Follow us on Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.Contact us at contact@climatenow.comVisit our website for all of our content and sources for each episode.

CJ Stratte is the President and CEO at On The Move, Inc. On The Move, Inc. started in Dearborn, Michigan, on January 28, 1992. Its founder, Maury Westerdale, recognized the need for a commercial truck lease program for self-managed local rental trucks, allowing the owner/operator to set their own rates and advertise their company at the same time. The ingenuity of Maury evolved into a turnkey truck lease program that launched On The Move, Inc. into the fourth-largest truck rental fleet in the United States. Although the original target market for rental truck leasing was the Self-Storage industry, other industries began to discover the advantages of On The Move, Inc. Today our truck leasing program not only serves the Self-Storage industry but the moving industry, rental stores, real estate professionals, apartment communities, caterers and contractors. He was elected as the youngest delegate for Joe Biden in 2020 and previously interned at the White House and DNC. We discuss the power of the youth vote to determine elections and which issues motivate Gen Zers to go to the polls.    Against the backdrop of voter suppression, especially in states like Texas, young voters struggle to understand that their voices really do matter. We need people to be engaged in keeping this democracy running. Because Gen Zers and Millennials are going to outnumber any other generation of Americans starting in 2024, it's crucial to meet young people where they are. That includes text banking, social media, phone banking, and relational organizing. Voter registration drives should start in all high schools and early, in person voting should be widely encouraged. Sustaining change also comes through electing more young people to office.    Follow Victor on Twitter:  https://twitter.com/Victorshi2020    Follow Mila on Twitter:  https://twitter.com/milaatmos    Follow Future Hindsight on Instagram:  https://www.instagram.com/futurehindsightpod/   Love Future Hindsight? My only criticism is you weren't around in the late 80s when I fell in love with this genre of music and records were as rare as unicorns. I like to write fantasy books while listening. The music helps keep me in the mindset while covering up the sounds of the modern world. Once again, thank you so much for all you do. Sincerely," Fabio Fiorelli emailed: "Hi Mark!
